Sat Nov 11 202317:53Gary Trent Jr. Sidelined Against Boston
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (foot) won't play on Saturday night against the Celtics. The 24-year-old has a case of Plantar Fasciitis in his right foot, so he'll miss his first game of the year. Unfortunately, he hasn't played the best this season, averaging 10.4 points, a significant drop from the 2022-23 campaign, meaning he likely wasn't going to be featured in as many fantasy lineups as usual. However, Trent's absence should at least allow guys like Gradey Dick and Otto Porter Jr. to receive streaming consideration in deeper fantasy setups.

Wed Oct 25 202318:38Gary Trent Jr. Off Injury Report
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (rest) has been removed from the injury report heading into Wednesday's regular-season opener versus the Minnesota Timberwolves. Trent sat out last Friday's preseason finale for rest purposes after averaging 13.7 points, 2.7 threes on 42.1% shooting from downtown, and 1.7 steals over 21.2 minutes in three exhibition games. The 24-year-old sharpshooter is lined up to be head coach Darko Rajakovic's sixth man off the bench to begin 2023-24, with Dennis Schroder filling the vacated starting spot at the one left behind by Fred VanVleet. Trent remains likely to handle around 30 minutes a night, regardless, and should be a fine source of points, threes, and steals with low turnovers as a top-100 threat in fantasy leagues.

Tue Jun 20 202318:53Gary Trent Jr. Exercises Player Option
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. is opting into his $18.5 million player option for the 2023-24 season. According to Chris Haynes of TNT and Bleacher Report, this was announced by Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul and Trent's agent Lucas Newton. The 24-year-old 3-and-D wing took a bit of a step back this past season, mainly due to injury issues that prevented him from playing in 16 games. While he saw a decrease in minutes, he also saw a decline in his three-point percentage, points, rebounds, assists, and steals.

Wed Jun 7 202319:26Gary Trent Jr. Could Be Leaving Toronto
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. is expected to opt out of his $18.5 million player option for the 2023-2024 season. The assumption is that the 24-year-old would be able to earn more per year in free agency. One team that has been listed as a possible suitor for Trent is the Orlando Magic. Trent is a 38.4% shooter from three, so it makes sense that the Magic would target him. Orlando struggled in offensive rating and were 24th in three-point percentage this past season. It's worth noting that Gary Harris has a $13 million team option for next season. It's possible that Orlando declines that option and uses that money to sign Trent this offseason. A move to Orlando would probably increase Trent's usage.

Wed Apr 5 202318:51Gary Trent Jr. Available To Play Wednesday
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (back) will make his return Wednesday against the Boston Celtics. Trent has missed the past seven games with back spasms and may see some minutes restrictions in his return. Trent's return to the second unit should take away some minutes from the starters given Toronto's rotations.

Wed Apr 5 202314:18Gary Trent Jr. Questionable Again Wednesday
Toronto Raptors guard/forward Gary Trent Jr. (back) is once again carrying a questionable tag ahead of Wednesday's game against Boston. He appeared to be on the way back to the court Tuesday versus Charlotte but missed the game and has now been absent for seven straight contests in total. Will Barton returned from injury Tuesday and picked up some of Trent Jr.'s minutes, while Chris Boucher and Jeff Dowtin Jr. have been seeing more time off the bench as well lately.

Tue Apr 4 202318:51Gary Trent Jr. Remains Out Against Charlotte
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (back) will not play Tuesday against the Charlotte Hornets. Trent was questionable going into Tuesday's game, but will miss his seventh game in a row due to the injury. OG Anunoby and the rest of the starters should continue to see heavy minutes.

Tue Apr 4 202309:30Gary Trent Jr. Remains Questionable Tuesday
Toronto Raptors guard/forward Gary Trent Jr. (back) was able to take part in a scrimmage during Monday's practice, but he remains questionable for Tuesday's game against Charlotte. Trent Jr. has been on the shelf for six straight games. With O.G. Anunoby (ankle) getting injured in the last game and possibly out Tuesday, the Raptors could really use Trent Jr. against the Hornets. With the Raptors also scheduled to play Wednesday against Boston, Trent Jr. won't have to wait long for his next chance to return if he isn't quite ready Tuesday.

Sat Apr 1 202317:05Gary Trent Jr. Questionable Versus Charlotte
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (back) is questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Hornets. The 24-year-old has missed five games because of back spasms, so he may not be 100% if he plays. However, if Trent isn't in the lineup, Will Barton (ankle), who is probable, may see more minutes. But considering Nick Nurse loves giving his starting lineup all the minutes they can handle, there's little room for anyone else to benefit.

Thu Mar 30 202315:05Gary Trent Jr. Questionable Ahead Of Friday
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (elbow) could miss a fifth consecutive game, with the team listing him as questionable ahead of Friday's meeting with the 76ers. Trent Jr. is a big piece for Toronto who averages close to 33 minutes per game and is scoring 17.7 points a night, so his absence is a bad blow for the team. Jeff Dowtin Jr. and Malachi Flynn have started to get extra burn in Trent Jr.'s absence, but both have failed to impress and don't offer anything for fantasy managers.

Tue Mar 28 202318:12Gary Trent Jr. Remains Out Tuesday Against Heat
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (elbow) has been ruled out against the Miami Heat on Tuesday. Trent was questionable to play before being downgraded to doubtful then eventually ruled out. Trent will miss his fourth-straight game Tuesday and should be considered questionable for their next game Friday. Jeff Downtin Jr. and Malachi Flynn should continue to see some extra minutes off the bench, but neither offer much in terms of fantasy value in their current roles.

Tue Mar 28 202316:11Gary Trent Jr. Considered Questionable On Tuesday
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (elbow) received another questionable tag on Tuesday due to elbow stiffness. His history with questionable statuses before games isn't too great this season as he's only ended up playing 29% of them. For fantasy managers that have him rostered, they might want to look for a different option especially since he's already missed three games due to this injury. If he can't suit up, Jeff Dowtin will likely get the extra playing time off of the bench.

Thu Mar 23 202314:39Gary Trent Jr. Questionable For Friday
Toronto Raptors guard/forward Gary Trent Jr. (elbow) is considered questionable for Friday's contest against Detroit. He could be out for a second consecutive game after missing Wednesday's battle versus Indiana. The team was also without Scottie Barnes (wrist) on Wednesday and Will Barton ended up entering the starting unit. He didn't do a lot in 23 minutes on the court, but Barton could be an asset in deep fantasy leagues if he continues to roll with the starters Friday.

Wed Feb 22 202311:09Gary Trent Jr. Returning On Thursday Against New Orleans
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (calf) has missed the last couple of games with a calf injury, but head coach Nick Nurse said that he looks ready to go and expects him to play on Thursday against the New Orleans Pelicans. The 10th-seed Raptors now get Trent and OG Anunoby back for the post-All-Star push into the playoffs. They are currently four-and-a-half games back of a playoff berth and only four behind as the top seed of the play-in tournament. Trent will help with threes and defensive stats for those managers that are fighting for a playoff spot.

Tue Feb 14 202318:08Gary Trent Jr. Remains Out Tuesday
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (calf) has been ruled out Tuesday against the Orlando Magic. Trent will miss another game due to a calf strain and will not have another opportunity to play until after the All-Star break. Precious Achiuwa (ankle) should continue to start Tuesday and holds some fantasy upside. In 10 games as a starter this season, Achiuwa is averaging 13.6 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.

Tue Feb 14 202315:14Gary Trent Jr. Still Uncertain Due To Calf Strain
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (calf) is still suffering from a calf strain and could miss his second consecutive game if he still feels pain during the shootaround and warm up. Trent was unable to suit up in the team's win over Detroit on Sunday, so fantasy managers will want to stay tuned for updates from the Raptors ahead of tipoff. If the 24-year-old is unable to suit up, Nick Nurse would likely go with their big starting lineup again as Jakob Poeltl moves up and Malachi Flynn gets some extra time off of the bench. Flynn's output has been so inconsistent that it would be difficult to trust him as a streaming pickup.

Sat Dec 31 202209:42Gary Trent Jr. Matches Season High With 35 Points
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. matched his season high in scoring Friday night against Phoenix, finishing a 113-104 victory with 35 points on 11-for-22 shooting. He picked up nine points from the free-throw line with a perfect record and went 4-for-11 with the three-ball while capping off his line in 39 minutes with five rebounds, two assists, three steals and one block. Trent Jr. returned from a four-game absence last week with a quiet eight-point night against Cleveland, but he has since then averaged 25 points in three outings. His last two efforts have been aided by Fred VanVleet's (back) absence. Monday's meeting with Indiana's poor defense promises to be another productive night for Trent Jr., with or without VanVleet.

Fri Dec 30 202219:23Gary Trent Jr., Christian Koloko Earn Starts Friday
Toronto Raptors shooting guard/small forward Gary Trent Jr. and center Christian Koloko have been elevated to the starting lineup for Friday's contest against the Suns. With Fred VanVleet (back) unavailable, Toronto will look to shuffle its starting group after having Scottie Barnes and Pascal Siakam serve as de facto point guards Thursday. While Trent will garner sizable DFS appeal in his own right, Malachi Flynn should also receive some attention after 30 productive minutes. Koloko's value hasn't differed much as a starter, although his oRTG has been significantly higher when coming off the bench (146, vs. 96 as a starter).

Tue Dec 20 202222:08Gary Trent Jr. Questionable Again On Wednesday
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (quadriceps) is questionable for Wednesday's contest versus the Knicks. Trent has missed the last three games due to left quad soreness, so fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if he's ruled out. If that's the case, Malachi Flynn, who's averaged 6.6 points in 19 games this season, could be in store for extra minutes. However, Flynn's fantasy upside is extremely limited.

Mon Dec 19 202217:59Gary Trent Jr. Won't Play On Monday
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (quad) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The 23-year-old was upgraded to questionable earlier in the day, but it appears he's not feeling good enough to play. It's uncertain who is going to move into the starting five with OG Anunoby (hip) still questionable for this game. Juancho Hernangomez and Malachi Flynn would benefit the most if both Trent and Anunoby are unable to play. Flynn should see decent playing time regardless with Trent out. He'll be worth looking at as a possible low-end streaming option for Monday's slate.
