Mon Jul 10 202312:22Yacksel Rios Moved To 60-Day Injured List
The Oakland Athletics moved right-hander Yacksel Rios (finger) to the 60-day injured list on July 8 to make room on the 40-man roster for prospect Freddy Tarnok. Rios underwent a procedure on Friday with Stanford vascular surgeon Dr. Jason Lee, but no update was given on a timetable for Rios' return. The 30-year-old reliever left his last outing against the New York Yankees on June 28 after feeling numbness in his right middle and index fingers that was the result of a circulatory condition known as Raynaud's Syndrome. At the very earliest, Rios won't be able to rejoin the A's bullpen until the end of August. The Puerto Rican hurler has allowed seven earned runs while walking six and striking out two in just 1 2/3 innings of work in 2023.

Tue Jun 20 202320:09A's Call Up Reliever Yacksel Rios
The Oakland Athletics selected the contract of right-hander Yacksel Rios from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday and optioned right-hander Chad Smith to Las Vegas in a corresponding move. To make room on the 40-man roster, the team moved right-hander Drew Rucinski (illness, knee) to the 60-day injured list. Rios will immediately join the A's big-league roster after the club landed him in a trade from the Atlanta Braves on Sunday. He has not pitched in the big leagues since 2021, when he went a combined 3-0 with a 4.28 ERA (4.89 FIP) with a 1.24 WHIP and 20.2% strikeout rate in 27 1/3 relief innings for the Mariners and Red Sox. The 29-year-old had posted a 2.49 ERA and 0.88 WHIP in 25 1/3 innings for Triple-A Gwinnett in 2023, but he won't really be on the fantasy radar.
