Sat Aug 31 201320:50Devin Aromashodu works out Lions
Free agent WR Devin Aromashodu worked out for the Lions.
Aromashodu was cut by the Bears earlier this week. Aromashodu still has some deep speed, but caught just 11 passes in 15 games for the Vikings last season. If he signs with the Lions, it will likely be after Week 1.

Mon Jun 10 201313:31Bears sign WRs Aromashodu, Jackson
Bears signed WRs Devin Aromashodu and Jerrell Jackson.
Bears fans will recall Aromashodu from his three seasons (2008-2010) in Chicago, where he sometimes flashed vertical tools but never developed into a consistent offensive contributor. He's 29 years old now, and coming off an 11-catch season with Minnesota. Jackson is a former UDFA out of Missouri.

Mon Feb 18 201310:49Vikes likely to part ways with Aromashodu
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune expects the Vikings to move on from free agent Devin Aromashodu.
Aromashodu remained startlingly ineffective in 2012, catching just 11 passes for 182 yards. The Vikings need an overhaul at receiver, and the soon-to-be 29-year-old Aromashodu is part of the problem, not the solution.

Sat Aug 18 201209:10Aromashodu remains without a reception
Devin Aromashodu remains without a preseason reception despite nine passes thrown in his direction.
It's worth noting because Aromashodu's 33.3 percent catch rate last season was the lowest of any NFL receiver who played at least a third of his team's offensive snaps. Simply put, NFL receivers don't get any less effective. Stephen Burton and Michael Jenkins remain the clubhouse leaders to fill in for Jerome Simpson during his three-game suspension.

Fri Mar 23 201219:18Vikings re-sign WR Aromashodu
Vikings re-signed WR Devin Aromashodu.
Aromashodu has intriguing size (6'2/201) and straight-line speed, but he's a stiff route runner and struggles to get open. Still a veteran of Bill Musgrave's scheme and an effective blocker, Aromashodu returns as a No. 4 receiver in Minnesota. He managed 26 receptions for 468 yards and one TD last season.

Wed Feb 1 201209:50Aromashodu brings up the rear in catch %
Free agent Devin Aromashodu's 33.3 percent catch rate was the lowest of any NFL receiver who played at least a third of his team's offensive snaps.
Aromashodu actually played more offensive snaps (676) than Percy Harvin (600), an indictment of the Vikings coaching staff. After struggling to catch the ball, run routes, and beat man coverage, Aromashodu seems unlikely to return to Minnesota in 2012.

Sun Jan 1 201218:05Aromashodu totals 53 yards in Week 17
Devin Aromashodu caught three passes for 53 yards on 11 targets against the Bears in Week 17.
Forced into the starting lineup after Bernard Berrian's release and Michael Jenkins' season-ending knee injury, Aromashodu averaged 2.7 receptions and 45 yards from Weeks 10-17. The Vikings are certain to upgrade via the draft or free agency in 2012. Aromashodu will reach agency in March.

Tue Dec 13 201111:49Aromashodu continues to play heavy snaps
Devin Aromashodu played 81-of-85 snaps in the Vikings' Week 14 loss to the Lions.
Aromashodu continues to rack up monster snap and target counts weekly. If he was anything more than a replacement-level talent, he'd be a strong fantasy play. He's still on the deep league WR3 radar this week with Christian Ponder (hip) ready to go for a home game against the Saints. Aromashodu has 10 catches for 137 yards in the last two weeks.

Sun Dec 11 201118:24Devin Aromashodu gets 47 yards in loss
Devin Aromashodu caught four passes for 47 yards in Sunday's Week 14 loss to the Lions.
Aromashodu was targeted 10 times and had a couple key drops on deep balls. He was also barely overthrown by Joe Webb when open on a bomb in the fourth quarter. Aromashodu isn't that talented, but he is playing every down and has 10 catches over the last two weeks. Desperate deep-leaguers can take a look heading into next week's matchup with the Saints.

Sun Dec 4 201118:24Aromashodu goes for 90 yards in Week 13
Vikings WR Devin Aromashodu caught six passes for 90 yards in the team's Week 13 loss to the Broncos.
Aromashodu was often in Andre' Goodman's coverage, and it became clear early in the game that the Vikings entered Week 13 planning to attack Goodman (not Champ Bailey). Thus, Aromashodu racked up a game-high 15 targets. Aromashodu's role has grown with Michael Jenkins (knee) out for the year, but he won't be a trustworthy WR3 option when the Vikings face the Lions in Week 14.

Sun Oct 30 201118:01Aromashodu held to 20 yards in Week 8
Devin Aromashodu caught just two passes for 20 yards against the Panthers in Week 8.
Aromashodu led the Vikings with six targets, but his most noteworthy play was a miscommunication with Christian Ponder on a sideline route. He's averaged just 16.5 yards per game while playing full-time snaps the past two weeks.

Tue Oct 25 201109:04Devin Aromashodu on the field a ton Week 7
Devin Aromashodu led all Vikings receivers with 61 snaps played in Sunday's loss to the Packers.
Bernard Berrian was a late scratch and Percy Harvin played just 18 snaps due to sore ribs. However, Aromashodu was used primarily as a blocker and caught just one pass on five targets. He's someone to monitor rather than add, even in deep fantasy formats.

Sun Oct 23 201120:06Aromashodu held to 13 yards in Week 7
Devin Aromashodu caught just one pass for 13 yards against the Packers in Week 7.
Aromashodu started in place of Bernard Berrian and did a convincing impression of the failed deep threat. The vertical routes were there with the Packers playing single safety on early downs, but Aromashodu was unable to take advantage. He's not worthy of a roster spot until proven otherwise.

Thu Oct 13 201122:01Vikes want to keep featuring Aromashodu
Coordinator Bill Musgrave wants to "build on" Devin Aromashodu's last two games and "keep featuring him as often as we can."
"He's given us a spark, for sure," Musgrave added. "The emergence of Devin has helped us achieve some chunks and we're always looking for chunks of yardage." Coach Leslie Frazier wanted to get Bernard Berrian more involved two weeks ago, but that was before missed meetings and a one-game benching. We could see a changing of the guard shortly.

Mon Oct 10 201118:40Aromashodu played 35 snaps in Week 5
Devin Aromashodu played 35 snaps in Week 5, more than doubling his previous season-high of 16.
Michael Jenkins led Vikings wideouts with 45 snaps played, while Percy Harvin got 40 and Greg Camarillo 6. Aromashodu played in place of Bernard Berrian, catching two passes for 81 yards. The Vikings swear they're committed to Berrian, so Aromashodu can't expect quite as much playing time going forward.

Sun Oct 9 201116:27Aromashodu gets a 60-yard catch
Devin Aromashodu caught two passes for 81 yards in Sunday's win over the Cardinals.
With Bernard Berrian inactive, Aromashodu acted as the primary third receiver and was targeted five times. He had a bad drop on a rare accurate throw from Donovan McNabb along the sideline, but flashed his upside with a 60-yard catch in the second half. The Vikings should consider benching Berrian permanently in favor of Aromashodu, but it's unclear if they plan to do so.

Tue Oct 4 201111:52Frazier defends Aromashodu usage
Devin Aromashodu caught a 34-yard touchdown pass in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs, but was targeted just one other time in the game.
"We didn't have another situation where we could get (the ball) to him," coach Leslie Frazier said when asked why Aromashodu wasn't more involved. The easy answer is to bench Bernard Berrian and get Aromashodu full-time snaps. Until that happens, there's no upside here.

Sun Oct 2 201120:05Devin Aromashodu catches 34-yard touchdown
Devin Aromashodu's 34-yard touchdown catch in Week 4 was Donovan McNabb's longest completion to a wide receiver so far this season.
Aromashodu made an outstanding grab, laying out his full body to dive for the score in the back left corner of the end zone. Unfortunately, the Vikings continue to use Bernard Berrian as a near full-time player with Aromashodu only coming in for special packages. Aromashodu is the better receiver; the Vikes' coaching staff just refuses to acknowledge it.
