Fri Dec 5 201420:27Bush cut by Cardinals on Friday
Bush was cut by the Cardinals on Friday, Kent Somers of AZCentral.com reports.
The Cardinals brought Bush aboard last week some some added depth at the running back position, but he was inactive for last Sunday's game against Atlanta and the team decided Friday that Kerwynn Williams was more deserving of a roster spot. With Andre Ellington (hip) ruled out for Week 14, the burden will fall primarily to Stepfan Taylor and Marion Grice against Kansas City.
Sun Nov 30 201415:11Bush inactive for Sunday's game at Atlanta
Bush is inactive for Sunday's game at Atlanta, the Cardinals' official site reports.
After inking a deal in Arizona on Tuesday, Bush is missing out on his first potential appearance with the organization. Once he attains active status, he'll more than likely serve as a short-yardage and goal-line back, but in the meantime, Andre Ellington (hip/foot), Stepfan Taylor, and Robert Hughes will handle the majority of the RB workload.
Thu Nov 27 201413:49Bush unlikely to be handed major role in Cardinals debut Sunday ...
Bush is unlikely to be handed a major role in his Cardinals debut Sunday in Atlanta, ESPN.com reports. On Wednesday, coach Bruce Arians said, "We didn't sign him for this week. We signed him for the long haul, so we'll have him ready when we need him."
The Cardinals have already started to install short-yardage and goal-line looks in Bush's hard drive with the intention of providing the offense with something it has lacked this season. Since his release by the Bears in March, he's been training in Arizona and considers himself fresh. Because he has but 809 career carries, including 177 in two seasons with the Bears, he could be a fair threat to produce once a general knowledge of the scheme is acquired.
Tue Nov 25 201416:37Bush signed with Cardinals on Tuesday
Bush signed with the Cardinals on Tuesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
The Cardinals' continued search for a short-yardage back has yielded Bush, who didn't participate in training camp and has yet to play this season. The six-year veteran suited up for the Bears in the previous two campaigns, earning 177 carries for 608 yards (3.4 YPC) and eight touchdowns. Since no other RB in Arizona has emerged as a consistent goal-line threat, Bush could be the guy behind clear-cut No. 1 Andre Ellington.
Mon Mar 31 201422:24Free agent RB Michael Bush to visit Patriots
Free agent RB Michael Bush will visit the Patriots.
The Patriots are in the market for a big back after opting not to re-sign LeGarrette Blount. Bush averaged a pitiful 3.1 YPC with the Bears last season and was released at the start of the new league year. He'll turn 30 in June and hasn't drawn any known interest before now. Bush is the definition of a plodder.

Mon Mar 10 201417:39Bears release free-agent bust Michael Bush
Bears released RB Michael Bush.
Bush is getting the heave-ho just two years into a four-year deal. The move frees up $1.85 million in cap space, but leaves behind $2 million in dead money. Signed as a short-yardage specialist, Bush was a bust from the start, and finishes his Bears career with just eight touchdowns across 177 carries. He averaged a miserable 3.1 yards per carry in 2013. Three months shy of his 30th birthday, Bush is unlikely to draw much interest in the first wave of free agency.

Tue Jan 21 201409:05Bears could look to upgrade on Michael Bush
ESPN Chicago believes the Bears could look to upgrade on Michael Bush at backup running back.
Bush carries a $3.85 million salary cap number for 2014 and was dreadful this past season, rushing for just 197 yards and averaging 3.1 YPC. Michael Ford might be given an opportunity to earn the No. 2 job behind Matt Forte, but we'd certainly expect the Bears to look for another running back via the draft. We'd consider Bush a near-lock to be released this offseason.

Mon Dec 30 201323:13Michael Bush owed unwieldy money in '14
Bears backup RB Michael Bush is owed a $2.8 million base salary and $50,000 workout bonus in 2014.
Chicago will need salary cap space if it has designs on franchise tagging Jay Cutler. After averaging under five offensive touches per game in 2013, Bush is shaping up as a no-brainer offseason release candidate. The Bears could stay in-house with Michael Ford serving as Matt Forte's backup next season. Bush is running out of gas going on age 30. He averaged 3.1 YPC this year.

Sun Dec 29 201321:28Michael Bush rushes twice in loss
Michael Bush rushed twice for 11 yards in Chicago's Week 17 loss to the Packers.
Bush wasn't targeted in the passing game. Bush's second season in Chicago ends with just 63 carries for 197 yards (3.12 YPC) and three touchdowns. He caught only four passes. Going on 30 and due $2.8 million in 2014, Bush is a strong candidate to be cut. He has vanishingly little Dynasty-league value.

Mon Dec 23 201301:51Michael Bush manages seven carries in loss
Michael Bush rushed seven times for 20 yards in Week 16 against the Eagles.
Bush didn't see the field until the fourth quarter. Despite scoring touchdown in his previous two games, he wasn't used in short-yardage or red-zone situations and remains a strict backup to Matt Forte.

Tue Dec 10 201300:09Michael Bush has his best game of year on MNF
Michael Bush rushed for 39 yards on eight carries and caught a 17-yard touchdown in Week 14 against the Cowboys.
Bush had his best game of the season tonight, and it surely will stay that way over the next few weeks. The Cowboys can't contain anyone on defense. Bush ran through gaping holes and caught a swing pass and walked in untouched for his score. Bush entered the night with 115 total yards on 46 touches through 11 games. He's not on the fantasy radar and is simply Matt Forte's change of pace.

Sun Dec 1 201317:49Michael Bush gets 1 touch in Week 13
Michael Bush managed one rush for 15 yards in the Bears' Week 13 loss to the Vikings.
Bush has only "vultured" two goal-line scores from Matt Forte all season. He has no fantasy value other than as a handcuff to cautious Forte owners.

Sun Nov 24 201318:50Michael Bush loses yards, but scores TD
Michael Bush rushed seven times for -5 yards and a touchdown in Week 12 against the Rams.
He caught one pass for 10 yards. It was an embarrassing effort for Bush, who could convert just one of five carries from the Rams' one-yard line for a touchdown. Twice Bush was stopped for a loss from the one, including once on fourth down. He also dropped a catchable pass on a 2nd-and-goal in the third quarter. An ineffective player in coach Marc Trestman's scheme, the Bears need to stop subbing Bush in for Matt Forte in money situations.

Fri Nov 22 201311:54Michael Bush's job in danger for 2014?
NFL writer Dan Pompei believes there's a possibility the Bears release Michael Bush in the offseason.
Pompei has covered the NFL for nearly 30 years and has ties to the Chicago area. Under new coach Marc Trestman, Bush is nothing more than a guy to give Matt Forte a breather. With a $2.8 million salary in the third year of a four-year deal in 2014, Bush may -- and likely will -- be deemed expendable. He's averaging just 2.1 YPC on 35 carries this season and isn't a factor in the passing game.

Sun Nov 17 201319:52Michael Bush rushes for five yards in win
Michael Bush rushed three times for five yards in Week 11 against the Ravens.
As is normally the case, Bush came in just to give Matt Forte a quick breather and wasn't involved in the passing game. Bush is purely a handcuff.

Sun Nov 10 201317:31Michael Bush sees one touch in Week 10 loss
Michael Bush rushed one time for no gain in Week 10 against the Lions.
Bush's lone chance came on a fourth-and-one carry which he failed to convert. Bush is just a handcuff -- not a particularly appealing one -- for Matt Forte owners.

Tue Nov 5 201300:53Michael Bush rushes for 25 yards in MNF win
Michael Bush rushed for 25 yards on seven carries in Week 9 against the Packers.

Sun Oct 20 201317:50Michael Bush doesn't get a carry in wild loss
Michael Bush did not receive a touch in Sunday's Week 7 loss at Washington.
Bush isn't a vulture threat to Matt Forte and isn't even getting on the field anymore. Over the last four weeks, he's averaging 2.0 carries per game. Bush is just a handcuff.

Sun Oct 6 201317:02Michael Bush rushes twice for 12 yards
Michael Bush rushed for 12 yards on two carries in Week 5 versus the Saints.
Bush wasn't targeted in the passing game and maybe played ten snaps. The Bears were playing from behind for much of the day. Bush is purely a handcuff.

Mon Sep 30 201315:16Michael Bush plays two snaps in Week 4
Michael Bush played only two snaps in the Bears' Week 4 loss to the Lions.
Matt Forte was an every-snap player because the Bears were playing from behind. "We want Michael to be part of our football," coach Marc Trestman said Monday. Bush didn't touch the ball, while Forte parlayed 19 touches into 117 yards and a touchdown. Bush is only a handcuff in fantasy football leagues.
