Tue Feb 17 201513:37Lloyd unlikely to re-sign with 49ers
Lloyd is unlikely to re-sign with the 49ers, the Sacramento Bee reports.
Lloyd will be 34 years old by the start of next season, and there's no guarantee that he finds a spot on an NFL roster. At best, he'll likely have to settle for a job as a team's fourth or fifth receiver.

Lloyd caught his only target for 14 yards in Sunday's season finale against the Cardinals.
Lloyd showed glimpses of his former glory early in the season, but was used sparingly and finished with 294 yards and a touchdown on 14 receptions. At age 33, he will be entering free agency and could latch on with a team in a similar role to the one he served in San Francisco, but his days of fantasy usefulness are over.
Sun Dec 7 201415:05Lloyd (quad) inactive for Sunday's game against Raiders
Lloyd (quad) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Raiders.
Lloyd was listed as probable, so this deactivation may be more of a coach's decision and less of an injury issue. He has just one catch in the last month.

Lloyd (quadriceps) is listed as active for Thursday's game against the Seahawks.
Lloyd hasn't caught a pass since Week 9, so he needs to demonstrate some productivity before he regains any stretch run fantasy utility.

Lloyd (quadriceps) was listed as probable for Thursday's contest versus the Seahawks, the 49ers' official site reports.
While Lloyd is poised to receive his normal limited snap count, he hasn't made a mark in the box score (on three combined targets) for three consecutive contests. Consequently, the veteran is as unpalatable of a WR option as they come.
Tue Nov 25 201421:53Lloyd (quadriceps) full participant in Tuesday's practice
Lloyd (quadriceps) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice, the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Lloyd was on the injury report with the quad issue last week but still suited up against Washington, and he doesn't appear to be in danger of sitting against Seattle, even on a short week. That said, Lloyd will make for a very unappealing play, having failed to earn single a target in any of his last three games.
Sun Nov 9 201411:35Lloyd (hamstring) active for Sunday's game against Saints
Lloyd (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Saints.
Lloyd practiced on a limited basis all week, and while he'll be out there Sunday, he's a tough play given that he's garnered just one target in two of the last three games, and has not caught more than three passes in any game this season.

Lloyd (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against New Orleans.
Lloyd managed to practice all week in a limited capacity, so he seems to have a good chance at suiting up Sunday. He's not seeing enough targets to reliably capitalize on his average of 11.4 yards per target, but he has shown reliable off-the-bench big-play ability for San Francisco this year.
Wed Nov 5 201420:48Brandon Lloyd: (Hamstring) Limited Wednesday
Lloyd (hamstring) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, the 49ers' official site reports.
Prior to his Week 9 dud -- one catch for 10 yards -- Lloyd had put together some consistency in the previous four contests, averaging 2.3 receptions (on 4.3 targets) for 61.8 yards, which he supplemented with an 80-yard touchdown. In reality, though, his usage is too sparse to consider outside of deeper formats, as his season-high in snaps resides at 43.

Lloyd caught three of his six targets for 63 yards in Sunday's blowout loss to the Broncos.
Lloyd followed his one-catch, 80-yard touchdown day with a more reasonable output Sunday. The 33-year-old is showing that he still has plenty of gas left in the tank. He is still too far down the depth chart to be relied upon in standard leagues, but the 49ers are showing increased confidence in the veteran. Lloyd is worth monitoring in deeper leagues in case any of the 49ers' starting wide outs go down with injury.

Lloyd caught his only target for an 80-yard touchdown in Monday's 31-17 win over the Rams.
With the 49ers down 14-3 and facing a 3rd-and-6 at their own 20-yard line with 27 seconds left in the first half, Lloyd burned Rams CB Janoris Jenkins on a double move for an 80-yard touchdown. The Rams never recovered from the massive mistake, and Lloyd wasn't targeted for the rest of the game. Still the 49ers' No. 4 wide receiver, Lloyd has seven catches for 189 and a touchdown on 16 targets this season.
Sun Oct 5 201421:07Lloyd had best game of season in Sunday's 22-17 win over Kansas ...
Lloyd had his best game of the season in Sunday's 22-17 win over Kansas City, catching three passes on five targets for 76 yards.
Lloyd made two nice catches down the sideline, including an incredible 38-yard grab late in the fourth quarter, that set up the go-ahead field goal. Once Vernon Davis (back) returns, Lloyd might not see as many looks as he did Sunday, but the veteran wide receiver is probably the best deep threat San Francisco has on its roster.
Mon Sep 29 201400:29Lloyd caught two passes for 28 yards in Sunday's win over Eagles
Lloyd caught two passes for 28 yards in Sunday's win over the Eagles.
Lloyd was used as the slot receiver for the brief period that Michael Crabtree (foot) was sidelined. Crabtree returned to the game and isn't expected to miss time, so Lloyd will return to his role as the situational slot receiver.
Sun Sep 14 201419:24Lloyd inactive for Sunday's game against Bears
Lloyd is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bears, the 49ers' official site reports.
As its fellow WR Quinton Patton, with Lloyd thus a break or two away from any sort of fantasy relevance.

Lloyd didn't record a catch Sunday, but was seen on the field being used in the slot on several occasions.
It was a bit of surprise when the 49ers added the 33-year-old veteran to their 53-man roster, given his inability to play on special teams. But it appears that ownership wasn't convinced that Steve Johnson was the answer for the slot position, and wanted to use Lloyd there as well. Neither player will have much value if they are splitting time at the position, but it is something to monitor on a week-to-week basis.
Sat Aug 30 201418:49Lloyd made 49ers' final roster
Lloyd made the 49ers' final roster, according to the Sacramento Bee.
The report notes that Lloyd won't necessarily be active for games, adding that he could be released and then re-acquired later in the season. At best, he'll head into Week 1 as the No. 4 wideout on a team that doesn't figure to use many four-wide sets. That said, it's somewhat telling that the 49ers opted to keep Lloyd over special-teams ace Kassim Osgood, as the team is seemingly more concerned with its wideout depth than it was in past seasons.

Lloyd (hamstring) returned to practice Saturday, taking part in individual drills, according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.
Lloyd missed the 49ers' preseason opener with a minor hamstring injury. He is currently competing for a spot on the 49ers' 53-man roster.
Fri Aug 1 201415:19Lloyd in line to miss week or two with unspecified injury
Lloyd is in line to miss a week or two with an unspecified injury, according to csnbayarea.com.
Lloyd, who left practice early on Wednesday, will need to get (and stay) healthy sooner rather than later in order to secure a role in the team's offense, but with the 49ers also rostering the likes of Anquan Boldin, Michael Crabtree and Stevie Johnson, the 33-year-old Lloyd would need a break or two in his favor in order to resurface on the fantasy radar.
Tue Jul 29 201420:41Lloyd 'most consistently productive' in camp
The Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows said WR Brandon Lloyd has been the 49ers' "most consistently productive receiver" this offseason.
Colin Kaepernick agrees, saying Lloyd has almost always been "open by a step or two." Lloyd does not appear to have much rust after sitting out an entire season, but already 33 and with little to no value on special teams, Lloyd's roster spot is still anything but secure. Continued stellar practice play like this will go a long way to solidifying his spot on the 49ers' roster.

Thu May 29 201409:51Harbs seeing 'really good things' from Lloyd
Coach Jim Harbaugh said he's "seeing really good things" out of Brandon Lloyd so far.
We believe Harbaugh was referring to Lloyd's on-field play at OTAs, not his role in the 2013 zombie film, After Effect. The 32-year-old might be able to provide the 49ers with some acrobatic red-zone punch, but he's a longshot for the final roster no matter how well he plays. Since signing Lloyd, the 49ers have traded for Stevie Johnson and drafted Bruce Ellington.
