Foster (head/groin) finished Sunday's game against the Colts with 41 yards on 19 carries and 77 yards on nine receptions (10 targets).
After missing a few plays at the end of the second quarter while being evaluated for a concussion, Foster passed the tests and returned after halftime. The Texans predictably fed him early and often, but the offensive line couldn't get any push. Foster looked like his usual healthy self the few times he had space to work with, notably ripping off a 31-yard catch-and-run in the fourth quarter. The Texans may be switching from Ryan Mallett to Brian Hoyer at quarterback, but the change probably wouldn't mean much for Foster's owners, unless Hoyer proves to be a significant upgrade. Either way, Foster should again see plenty of touches in a favorable Week 6 matchup with the Jaguars.
Thu Oct 8 201522:21Arian Foster: Returns to game
Foster (head) returned to Thursday's game against the Colts in the third quarter, ESPN's Tania Ganguli reports.
Foster left to be evaluated for a concussion a few minutes before halftime, but he was back out on the field for the Texans' first drive of the second half. He had 15 touches (three catches) for 36 yards before the break.
Thu Oct 8 201521:49Arian Foster: Exits with possible concussion
Foster left Thursday's game against the Colts in the second quarter with a possible concussion, ESPN's Tania Ganguli reports.
Foster was visibly shaken up after taking a hard hit from Colts LB D'qwell Jackson late in the second quarter. Foster came off the field with trainers, but he returned one play, then was taken back out of the game. Shortly thereafter, he slammed a gatorade cooler on the sideline and left for the locker room. With Foster now being evaluated for a concussion, Alfred Blue will likely lead the Houston backfield for the rest of the night.

Foster (groin) is listed as active for Thursday's game against the Colts.
With fellow RB Jonathan Grimes inactive and Chris Polk banged up, Foster and Alfred Blue represent the team's healthiest backfield options heading into Thursday's action. In his return to the Texans' lineup this past Sunday, Foster recorded just 10 yards on eight carries to go along with three catches for 25 yards, but we'd expect Houston's top back to see an uptick in touches and production in his second game back from injury.
Wed Oct 7 201516:42Arian Foster: Listed as probable
Foster (groin) is listed as probable for Thursday's game against the Colts.
Fellow RB Jonathan Grimes is out for the contest, while Chris Polk is listed as questionable, which leaves Foster and Alfred Blue as the team's healthiest backfield options heading into Week 5. Foster recorded just 10 yards on eight carries to go along with three catches for 25 yards in his return to action this past Sunday, but Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle puts forth the highly plausible notion that could have Foster "could have dramatically increased role" in Thursday's game.
Mon Oct 5 201519:21Though Texans didn't conduct formal practice Monday
Though the Texans didn't conduct a formal practice Monday, if they had, Foster (groin) would have been a limited participant, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Foster indicated that he came out of Sunday's game against the Falcons fine, with coach Bill O'Brien noting Monday that the Texans' top back "should be ready" for the Thursday night's game against the Colts. We'll let you know if that assessment changes.

Foster (groin) picked up 10 yards on eight carries, and caught three of his five targets for 25 yards in Sunday's loss to the Falcons.
Foster struggled to get anything going on the ground in his season debut, but he immediately re-established himself as the team's lead back with eight carries to just nine combined for Chris Polk and Alfred Blue. The talented running back should see an increased workload moving forward as he continues to get healthier.

Foster (groin) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
Foster will give it a go for the first time this season, though both Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport have indicated that Foster is likely to see his workload somewhat limited in his return to action. With that in mind, Alfred Blue and Chris Polk are on hand to provide Foster with backfield support in Sunday's contest.

Foster (groin) appears in line to make his season debut Sunday against the Falcons, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
We'll await official confirmation of Foster's Week 4 status, but assuming he does suit up, the report suggests that the running back figures to see "limited/situational snaps" in his anticipated return to game action.

ESPN's Adam Schefter relays that Foster (groin) is expected to play Sunday against the Falcons, barring a pre-game setback.
Official confirmation of Foster's Week 4 status is slated to arrive as Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff approaches, but for now things appear to be trending in the right direction on that front. If Foster does end up suiting up, it's unclear how heavily he might be used out of the gate, with Alfred Blue and Chris Polk on hand to provide backfield support, in any scenario Sunday.
Sat Oct 3 201508:55Foster (groin
Foster (groin, questionable) may have a complementary role and make his season debut in Week 4 against the Falcons, according to a source not authorized to speak publicly, the Houston Chronicle reports.
The source said Foster may play if he's able to convince head coach Bill O'Brien he's ready to play. As it stands now, O'Brien is calling Foster a game-time decision for Sunday's 1:00pm game. Of note, the Texans will be shorthanded Sunday, after running back Jonathan Grimes (knee) was declared out.

Foster (groin, questionable) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's contest against the Falcons.
That's a notion put forth by both coach Bill O'Brien, as well as Foster. "Progression is well, I think from two months ago having it off the bone to today," Foster said Friday, referencing his recovery from groin surgery. "It feels great and so yeah, I feel like I've got a chance. It just depends on how it feels on Sunday." Official confirmation of Foster's Week 4 status is thus slated to arrive as Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff approaches, with Alfred Blue and Chris Polk set to handle the Texans' rushing load Sunday in the event that Foster ends up being scratched.

Coach Bill O'Brien reiterated Thursday that Foster (groin) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Falcons, ESPN's Tania Ganguli reports.
Foster was once again a limited participant in Thursday's practice, while looking good in the process, per O'Brien. That said, the Texans have yet to solidly the running back's status for Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff. If Foster is held out, Alfred Blue would once again be in line to head the Texans' rushing attack in Week 4.

Foster (groin) will be a game-time decision for Week 4 against Atlanta, the Texans' official site reports.
Foster has been practicing with the team on a limited basis the past two weeks.
Wed Sep 30 201518:16Foster (groin) listed as limited practice participant Wednesday
Foster (groin) was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Per the report, the Texans would like to see Foster see some full practice participation before they have him play in games. For now, the running back appears to be headed for a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Falcons.

ESPN's Ed Werder relays that coach Bill O'Brien does not expect a final call on the playing status of Foster (groin) to arrive until pre-game warmups in advance of Sunday's contest against the Falcons.
Foster has been practicing in a limited fashion of late, so we suppose that his outlook could end up tilting in either direction as the week progresses. However, if Foster does end up being a game-time decision this week, fortunately for those interested in using any Houston running back Sunday, the team kicks off at 1:00 ET.

Though coach Bill O'Brien fell short Monday of declaring Foster (groin) ready to return Sunday against the Falcons, he noted on that front that "I think we're close," the Houston Chronicle reports.
Foster's status will thus be worth tracking closely as the week rolls along, though perhaps Alfred Blue's strong effort in Week 3 (31 carries for 139 yards) will lead to the Texans exercising a degree of caution with regard to Foster in advance of Sunday's contest.
Fri Sep 25 201514:20Arian Foster: Still Sidelined
Foster is "doing well," according to coach Bill O'Brien, but the running back won't play Sunday against the Buccaneers.
With Foster still out and Jonathan Grimes likely a game-time decision for the contest, look for the combo of Chris Polk and Alfred Blue to head the Texans' backfield this weekend.

Foster (groin) acknowledged Thursday that he is still not 100 percent, the Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson reports.
While the running back -- who was been able to practice in a limited fashion -- hasn't been officially ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bucs, he continues to trend toward sitting the contest out. When addressing his progress toward a return to game action on Thursday, Foster noted, "I'm going to make sure I'm 100 percent so I'm not jeopardizing myself or my teammates." More on his Week 3 status, once the Texans' final injury report of the week is released on Friday.
