Tue Aug 26 201421:01Armstrong cut by Browns on Monday
Armstrong was cut by the Browns on Monday, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Armstrong, 31, was attempting a comeback after sitting out the 2013 season, but his limited production in three exhibitions (three catches, 17 yards) resulted in his release. Given the weakness of the Browns' receiving corps relative to that of other teams, Armstrong could have difficulty finding work with another team.

Armstrong, 31, is a slightly built (5'11/180) speedster with ties to new Browns OC Kyle Shanahan from D.C. The Browns will be in trouble if at any point they're forced to lean on Armstrong for significant regular season snaps.

Wed Sep 25 201311:51Anthony Armstrong gets workout with Lions
Lions worked out free agent WRs Anthony Armstrong, Charles Hawkins and Lavelle Hawkins Tuesday.
None of the trio were immediately signed, suggesting that the Lions are comfortable going to battle with Calvin Johnson, Patrick Edwards (ankle) and Ryan Broyles (knees) Sunday. Even if one of these three does get signed, they'd be playing an outside role for Detroit. They wouldn't affect slot man Ryan Broyles' potential production.

Fri Aug 31 201221:17Anthony Armstrong cut by Redskins
Redskins waived or released WR Anthony Armstrong, TE Richard Quinn, RB Dorson Boyce and LB Bryan Kehl.
Armstrong's chances of holding his roster spot were killed by a shoulder injury that held him out for over two weeks of camp. The Redskins were hoping to find a trade partner for Kehl before releasing him. He'll have a decent chance of latching on elsewhere after appearing in 14 games for the Rams each of the past two seasons.

Sat Aug 18 201213:44Anthony Armstrong back at practice
Redskins WR Anthony Armstrong (shoulder) has returned to practice, and is expected to play in Saturday's preseason game.
Armstrong had been limited since August 2, and missed Washington's exhibition opener. Returning at this stage gives Armstrong a shot at keeping his roster spot, but he's on the bubble in Washington's crowded receiver corps. Even if he makes the team, he'll be off the radar in all formats of fantasy.
