C Alberto Rosario had his contract purchased from Triple-A Memphis when major-league rosters expanded on Friday. The 30-year-old hit .247 in 50 games for Memphis this season. Rosario had a 20-game stint with the Cardinals last season, hitting .184 with two RBIs in 38 at-bats. He did not play in Friday's win over the San Francisco Giants.

SS Amed Rosario hit his fourth homer in his 26th major league game Sunday to break a tie in the eighth inning for a 6-5 win in the first game Sunday. Rosario never hit more than three homers in a minor league season and had 10 career minor league homers in 1,382 at-bats before this year. "I was just hoping to swing at a good pitch. I was just looking for the right pitch and I guess I got it," Rosario said via an interpreter. Mets manager Terry Collins has been impressed by Rosario, who began his pro career at rookie level Kingsport in 2013. "He played great there," Collins said. "I don't worry about home runs. He is dangerous. He plays the game, the whole game. He plays to win. It is fun to see."

C Albert Rosario made his major league debut Saturday, appearing as a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning at Milwaukee. Rosario singled to right, driving in Stephen Piscotty, for his first big league hit and RBI.

C Alberto Rosario was purchased from Triple-A Memphis to replace Pena on the 25-man roster. It's the first MLB stint for the 29-year old Rosario, billed as a classic catch-and-throw backup who has nabbed 42 percent of basestealers during 11 minor league seasons. Originally signed by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in January of 2005, Rosario was batting .281 with the Redbirds this year in 114 at-bats.
