Mon Aug 3 201518:49Parmele signed by Browns on Monday
Parmele was signed by the Browns on Monday, ESPN.com reports.
Parmele is a NFL journeyman, who has played for three different teams in his first four years. He most recently played for the Cardinals in 2014. Parmele was signed along with Tim Flanders in the wake of several injuries at running back for the Browns. Four of the Browns' backs (Terrance West, Duke Johnson, Glenn Winston and Luke Lundy) are currently out for the foreseeable future.
Wed Sep 24 201413:29Parmele released by Cardinals
Parmele has been released by the Cardinals, Darren Urban of azcardinals.com reports.
Parmele, who recorded just one carry for zero yards in Sunday's win over the 49ers, became the odd man out of the Cards' depth RB mix following the team's signing of Marion Grice.

Parmele, not Stepfan Taylor, will replace Jonathan Dwyer as Arizona's short-yardage back.
Parmele was out of football last year and has yet to run for an NFL touchdown, so he seems like an odd fit for a short-yardage/goal-line role. Still, the Cardinals will evidently give him the first shot at replacing Dwyer. Perhaps Taylor will get his chance if Parmele proves ineffective.
Thu Sep 18 201414:58Parmele signed with Cardinals on Thursday
Parmele signed with the Cardinals on Thursday, the team's official site reports.
After spending time with the Cardinals during training camp, Parmele will now serve behind Andre Ellington (foot), Stepfan Taylor, and Robert Hughes following the deactivation of Jonathan Dwyer. Parmele's ultimate role hasn't been determined, but as the biggest running back (5-11, 225) currently on the roster, he could eventually factor into short-yardage or goal-line looks.

Cardinals signed RB Jalen Parmele, OT Cory Brandon, WR Kevin Ozier and CB Jimmy Legree.
Parmele is the "name" signing. A 2008 sixth-round pick, Parmele carried the ball 40 times for the Jaguars in 2012, but has only 47 career totes. He's a camp body.

Wed May 8 201313:42Titans sign former Jag RB Jalen Parmele
Titans agreed to terms with RB Jalen Parmele, formerly of the Jaguars.
He's replacing Jamie Harper, who was waived on Wednesday. Per the Nashville Tennessean's John Glennon, the Titans view Parmele as a better receiver and special teamer than Harper, who was used as a battering ram brute in the running game. Parmele averaged just 3.6 yards on his 40 carries last season, but the depth chart is wide open behind Chris Johnson and Shonn Greene.

Fri May 3 201316:59Titans host Jalen Parmele
The Titans hosted RB Jalen Parmele for a free-agent visit on Friday.
Parmele visited the Seahawks in early April but has otherwise generated no legitimate interest. He's a plodding runner with some special teams value.

Free agent RB Jalen Parmele visited the Seahawks.
As part of the Jaguars' injury-ravaged backfield last year, Parmele recorded 40 carries for 143 yards and no touchdowns. But in reality, he's a borderline NFL player that focuses mostly on lead-blocking and special teams. Parmele can also help out on kick returns in a pinch.

Thu Dec 6 201215:27Jags RB Parmele undergoes surgery
Jaguars RB Jalen Parmele (injured reserve) underwent surgery Thursday to repair his partially torn groin.
There's no word yet on a timetable. If it was sports hernia surgery, Parmele could be running again in a few weeks. A fringe roster type, Parmele is due to reach free agency in 2013.

Thu Nov 29 201209:24Jalen Parmele could need surgery
Jags RB Jalen Parmele (IR, groin) will visit a specialist on Wednesday to determine if he needs surgery.
Parmele earned a game ball for fighting his way back into last week's win despite a pulled groin. He ended up with a partial tear in his muscle. The injury won't help Parmele's chances of earning a 2013 roster spot.

Tue Nov 27 201216:07Groin injury ends Jags RB Parmele's season
Jaguars placed RB Jalen Parmele (groin) and CB Will Middleton (concussion) on season-ending injured reserve.
Parmele returned to the game after injuring his groin on the first drive and appears to have done more extensive damage while dragging his leg on a fourth-quarter run. It's a multi-week injury, suggesting surgery will be an option. With Parmele and Maurice Jones-Drew out, Rashad Jennings has another shot at feature-back duties at an improving Buffalo defense in Week 13. Parmele can be discarded in Dynasty leagues, as he won't be guaranteed a roster spot in 2013.

Tue Nov 27 201210:38Jags RB Jalen Parmele considered questionable
Jalen Parmele (groin) is considered questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills.
Parmele pulled his groin early in the first quarter against the Titans and spent 1.5 quarters trying to get it loose on the sideline. He briefly returned in the second half, but was running on one leg. Coach Mike Mularkey had high praise for Parmele's effort. "You're talking about a guy dragging his leg, literally, through the hole while he's running over defenders. One of the toughest performances I've seen a player have since I've been in this league." If Parmele can't go in Week 13, Mularkey will have to turn back to Rashad Jennings. Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) still isn't ready.

Sun Nov 25 201215:42Jaguars RB Parmele aggravates leg injury
Jalen Parmele aggravated his leg injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's Week 12 game versus the Titans.
Parmele spent 1.5 quarters on the stationary bike and standing on the sideline after injuring the leg early in the first quarter. He had eight carries for 45 yards and one reception for 7 yards before limping on a pitch like a wounded bison in the middle of the fourth quarter. He's almost certainly done for the day, and the injury may put his status in jeopardy for Week 13 at Buffalo.

Sun Nov 25 201213:28Jags RB Parmele exits early with leg injury
Jalen Parmele exited Sunday's game early in the first quarter with a leg injury.
Parmele was pedaling away on the stationary bike, suggesting a soft tissue injury such as a hamstring. His first carry went for 13 yards, but Rashad Jennings has been on the field ever since. Parmele is officially questionable to return.

Wed Nov 21 201210:56Jalen Parmele plays on 61 snaps
Jalen Parmele played on 61-of-66 offensive snaps in the Jaguars' Week 11 loss to the Texans.
Rashad Jennings (seven snaps) wasn't just demoted -- he was completely taken out of the gameplan. Parmele was a three-down back, racking up 27 touches. Coach Mike Mularkey has since confirmed that he's sticking with Parmele as his feature back for this week's game against the Titans' No. 28 run defense. He's on the low-end RB2/flex radar.

Mon Nov 19 201214:36Jaguars sticking with Parmele as starting RB
Coach Mike Mularkey confirmed Monday that he will stick with Jalen Parmele as the Jaguars' starting tailback in Week 12 versus Tennessee.
Rashad Jennings has been demoted due to ineffectiveness. The Titans do not have an imposing run defense, so Parmele will be on the flex radar after rushing 24 times for 80 yards and catching three passes against a stout Texans defense in Week 11. Although he's managed just 3.6 yards per carry in his career, Parmele ran a 4.47 forty at 6-foot, 222 during the 2008 NFL Scouting Combine. He's more of a straight-line runner in the Jackie Battle mold.

Sun Nov 18 201218:05Parmele gets start at RB for Jags in loss
Jalen Parmele started at running back against the Texans in Week 11 and rushed for 80 yards on 24 carries.
Parmele earned starting duties over the unimpressive Rashad Jennings on Sunday and gave the Jaguars some resemblance of a running game for the first time in weeks. Jennings carried the ball three times for negative-one yard. Parmele added three catches for three yards. Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) is aiming for a Week 13 return, but that's far from certain. Parmele would likely get the start next week against the Titans if MJD can't go.

Sun Nov 18 201213:14Parmele starts at RB over Jennings for Jags
Jalen Parmele started at running back for the Jaguars over Rashad Jennings in Week 11.
Jennings has been absolutely brutal in four starts in place of Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) of late. He averaged a lousy 2.87 YPC in those games on 61 carries. Parmele is nothing special in his own right, but Jacksonville needs to put together something on the ground to give them even a slight chance to win. Both backs will likely split work throughout the afternoon.

Tue May 1 201213:56Jaguars sign RB Jalen Parmele
Jaguars signed RB Jalen Parmele.
The Jags' twitter feed lists Parmele as a running back/fullback hybrid. Perhaps the fourth-year back has added weight to increase his flexibility in the fight for a back-end roster spot. Parmele accrued just seven rushing attempts with the Ravens from 2008-2010. He should get a look on kickoff returns this summer.
