Mon Aug 26 201308:22Redskins release deep threat Stallworth
Redskins released WR Donte' Stallworth.
The veteran deep threat had barely practiced this summer thanks to a hamstring issue. Injuries limited Stallworth to only one game with the Patriots last season. Stallworth can still turn on the jets, but does little else. Going on 33, he has just 42 catches over the past five seasons. He's near the end of the line.

Fri Aug 9 201310:11Donte' Stallworth slowed by hamstring issue
Redskins WR Donte' Stallworth has been slowed by a hamstring issue for most of camp.
Stallworth insists the injury is minor, but the 32-year-old wideout has had a hard time staying healthy in recent years. Stallworth needs to get healthy in a hurry to have a realistic shot at a roster spot.

Wed Jun 12 201315:59Redskins ink WR Donte' Stallworth
Redskins signed WR Donte' Stallworth, formerly of the Patriots.
Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan had already revealed the team's plan to sign the wide receiver, so this comes as no surprise. Stallworth spent most of 2012 on the street before signing with the Patriots. He played in one game, recording a 63 yard touchdown, before injuring his ankle and landing on injured reserve. He'll compete for situational role with the Redskins.

Tue Jun 11 201313:35Shanny expects to sign Donte' Stallworth
Redskins coach Mike Shanahan expects to sign free agent Donte' Stallworth following this week's minicamp.
Shanny expects to sign the deep threat following his three-day tryout, barring an "an unexpected drop in play." Going on 33, Stallworth played for the Redskins in 2011, but spent most of 2012 on the street/injured reserve. He'd be far from guaranteed a spot on the 53-man roster.

Free agent WR Donte' Stallworth was in a hot-air balloon accident on Saturday morning and is in a Miami area hospital.
The balloon reportedly hit a set of power lines, and Stallworth is in stable condition after suffering burns. His girlfriend was also in the balloon at the time of the accident. It's unclear if she was injured. ESPN's Adam Schefter says Stallworth should make a full recovery and be able to resume his career.

Sat Mar 9 201311:22Patriots show interest in Donte' Stallworth
The Patriots have reportedly shown interest in free agent Donte' Stallworth.
Any deal is expected to be "on the backburner," but the Pats won't have much competition. Stallworth is a 32-year-old straight-line deep threat with 24 catches over the past three seasons. He should be available for the NFL minimum.

Tue Dec 11 201200:42Stallworth brings in a deep TD in return
Donte' Stallworth caught one pass for a 63-yard touchdown in Monday night's Week 14 win over Houston.
Stallworth was targeted just twice on the night, but he couldn't quite find the ball in the air on the other pass. The veteran was just signed this past week and immediately stepped in as New England's No. 3 receiver with Julian Edelman out. However, he won't have much, if any, fantasy value moving forward. Leave Stallworth on the waiver wire.

Mon Dec 3 201218:19Patriots bring back Stallworth for another go
Patriots re-signed WR Donte' Stallworth.
Stallworth was released in late August prior to cut-down days. Since then, he has worked out for the Dolphins, Bills, and most recently the Patriots last week. He'll fill Deion Branch's role and won't be a fantasy option as the fourth or fifth option in the passing attack.

Tue Nov 27 201219:20Patriots work out WR Donte' Stallworth
Patriots worked out free agent WR Donte' Stallworth.
Stallworth was not offered a contract. He does have experience in Josh McDaniels' offense from the 2007 season, so the Pats will have him on speed dial if another injury strikes at wide receiver.

Mon Sep 24 201215:18Bills work out free agent Stallworth
The Bills worked out free agent WR Donte' Stallworth Monday.
The receiver-needy Bills also tried out Danario Alexander Monday. Stallworth visited the Dolphins late last month, but has otherwise drawn lukewarm interest since his release from the Patriots. Alexander would be a higher-upside flier for the Bills, though Stallworth presents a far steadier option.

Thu Aug 30 201212:13Dolphins working out Donte' Stallworth
The Dolphins are working out free agent WR Donte' Stallworth Thursday.
Stallworth is among a "number" of receivers trying out for the Dolphins. He's 31, but he'd at least give the Dolphins some straight-line speed. Their starting receivers right now are Legedu Naanee and Davone Bess.

Sat Jun 16 201209:34Stallworth still burning
According to ESPN Boston, Patriots WR Donte' Stallworth's speed has been "evident throughout the offseason."
Stallworth turned 32 in November, but sounds like he's lost surprisingly little of his elite straight-line speed. Stallworth's chances of cracking New England's 53 increased dramatically following the release of Anthony Gonzalez and Chad Ochocinco, but he may have to prove he can contribute on special teams to truly be in the mix for a spot in the Pats' crowded receiver corps.

Sun Jun 10 201209:21Stallworth returning kickoffs in OTAs
Patriots WR Donte' Stallworth has been returning kickoffs during OTAs.
With Chad Ochocinco and Anthony Gonzalez out of the picture, Stallworth has a much better chance of making the 53-man roster. Adding kick returns to his repertoire would only help. The veteran hasn't returned a kick since he was with the Saints in 2003, when he had eight returns for 171 yards.

Sun Apr 1 201209:33Stallworth unlikely to dress on game days
Personnel executives tell the Boston Globe that WR Donte' Stallworth "likely won't dress" on game days this season.
Stallworth gets high marks as a "tight route runner" with good straight-line speed, but he struggles versus press coverage, has questionable hands, and struggles to stay healthy. He's no more than a fourth receiver, but a lack of special teams value leaves him as the odd man in a crowded wide receiver corps.

Mon Mar 19 201214:56Patriots bring back WR Donte' Stallworth
Patriots agreed to terms with WR Donte' Stallworth on a one-year contract.
The numbers aren't in yet, but it would be a surprise if the contract is guaranteed. Stallworth knows the offense and can provide the occasional presence outside the numbers, but the Pats had already picked up Brandon Lloyd and Anthony Gonzalez in the early days of free agency. Meanwhile, Deion Branch remains unsigned.

Thu Dec 29 201114:35Stallworth playing his way into 2012 plans?
Redskins OC Kyle Shanahan insists Donte' Stallworth is playing as well as any receiver on the team right now.
Stallworth's 190 yards over the past three games are more than he posted in the previous 12 games combined. The Redskins clearly needed a play-making upgrade at receiver, but Stallworth is playing his way into the team's plans as an impending free agent.
