Webb suffered a thigh injury during Sunday's loss to the Browns, the Baltimore Sun reports.

Webb was announced as probable to return, and while he was seen with his helmet on the sidelines, he never actually made it back into the game. If he's not available for Week 6 against the 49ers, the Ravens will likely need Kyle Arrington to play an every-down role.

The oft-injured cornerback's status for the beginning of the regular season had been a concern in the latter half of the preseason after he suffered the injury, but the veteran appears ready to take the field against the Broncos in the opener barring any setbacks. Webb saw his effectiveness diminished in 2014 due to a hip injury that he battled throughout most of the campaign, but still contributed 46 tackles (36 solo), eight passes defensed and one interception over 13 games. The seven-year pro is expected to start opposite Jimmy Smith and will likely play a vital role against the powerful Denver passing attack if he is on the field on Sunday.

One of the league's better cornerbacks at the high point of his career, the 29-year-old Webb has struggled with injuries over the past few seasons, limiting both his playing time and effectiveness. It's one thing for Webb to face constant pressure when Jimmy Smith (foot) is playing, but it's not a good sign for the veteran corner that the Steelers frequently chose to attack him over his no-name position mates. While largely ineffective this season, Webb has been decent form an IDP standpoint, with 23 tackles (18 solo) and six passes defensed in five games since he rejoined the team in Week 5. The Ravens don't really have any options to replace Webb, so his starting job is safe, despite some poor showings.
