Adams has been released by the Seahawks, Sports Radio KJR's Curtis Crabtree reports.
Adams got significant playing time with the Raiders last season, but he didn't hold up particularly well, and had to compete for a roster spot in Seattle. If he latches on elsewhere, it will likely just be as a fifth cornerback

Tue Mar 12 201318:28Raiders re-sign CB Phillip Adams
Raiders re-signed CB Phillip Adams to a one-year, $630,000 contract.
Oakland declined to tender Adams as an RFA earlier in the day. That would have paid him $1.323 million, so they save a little more than half that by re-upping him. Adams was arguably the Raiders' best corner in 2012, which isn't saying much. He could have a chance to start this season.

Raiders brass at one point was high on Adams' potential, but he finished 2012 on injured reserve after multiple concussions and a groin injury. Perhaps the club will try to re-sign Adams for less than the low tender ($1.323 million).

Mon Dec 17 201213:22Phillip Adams becoming concussion prone
Raiders CB Phillip Adams has suffered two concussions in the past three games.
He should be considered out indefinitely. Raiders management had high hopes for Adams when they claimed him off waivers from Seattle in early September, and he wound up ovetaking Ronald Bartell at right cornerback. Oakland won't be able to continue to rely on Adams due to his proneness to concussions.

The addition of Adams may bode poorly for RCB Ras-I Dowling's chances of playing against Buffalo after he left last week's loss with an apparent leg injury. If Dowling is out, Leigh Bodden would start at right corner with Kyle Arrington probably covering the slot. Adams would take Arrington's place on special teams. Sat Aug 27 201114:33Phillip Adams (ankle) back to full health
49ers CB Phillip Adams (fractured ankle) is back to full health.
A seventh-round pick a year ago, Adams played in 15 games, notching 13 tackles before fracturing his ankle in Week 16. Appearing in so many games has made him ineligible for the practice squad, so making the 49ers roster is a zero-sum game for Adams. If he does, he should play almost exclusively on special teams.
