Feely knocked down three of his four field-goal attempts in the Bears' Week 17 loss to the Vikings.
If there's one area where the Bears excelled in an otherwise miserable 2014 season, it was in scoring touchdowns upon reaching the red zone, a skill that worked to the detriment of their kickers. In fact, Week 17 was the only occasion during 2014 in which Feely or Robbie Gould attempted more than two tries from the field, making the Bears' kicking game mostly a toxic one for fantasy purposes. Feely at least rewarded those with the foresight to roster him in the final week with a nine-point performance, but he doesn't seem to have a future with the organization. He was simply a stopgap solution while Gould missed the final four games with a quadriceps injury.

Feely nailed both of his extra-point opportunities in the Bears' Week 16 loss to the Lions.
Though he's held the Bears' kicking job for three weeks, Feely has yet to see a single attempt from the field. That shouldn't come as a particularly surprising development given that Robbie Gould (quadriceps) had seen only three attempts in the previous six weeks, and opportunities figure to remain scarce in the season finale against the Vikings in their outdoor stadium. Feely will again handle kicking duties for the Bears with Gould effectively being shut down for the rest of the season.
Fri Dec 19 201414:25Feely will once again handle kicking duties
With Robbie Gould (quad) ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lions, Feely will once again handle the kicking duties.
Kicking in Chicago's winter weather is not an ideal situation, and given the current state of the Bears' offense, there are probably better options than Feely available to you.

Feely made his lone extra-point attempt in Monday's 31-15 loss to the Saints.
Filling in for Robbie Gould (quadriceps) for the second straight game, Feely again saw limited opportunities to showcase his leg. He's accumulated just three points in his two games as the Bears' kicker, and should be viewed as little more than a low-end fantasy option if he sticks around for Sunday's game against the Lions.

Feely knocked down two of three extra-point attempts in Thursday's 41-28 loss to the Cowboys.
Kicker scoring has been minimal this season for the Bears, and it was no different for the newly-signed Feely, who joined the team this week after Robbie Gould was ruled out with a quadriceps injury. With the Bears falling behind by multiple touchdowns in the third quarter, Feely wouldn't have the opportunity to attempt any kicks from the field, and had one of his fourth-quarter extra points blocked to miss out on another point. It's not certain if Gould will be ready to go for the team's Week 15 tilt with the Saints next Monday, but Feely figures to stick around if Gould is ruled out again.
Wed Dec 3 201413:47Feely likely to serve as Bears' kicker Thursday against Cowboys
With Robbie Gould listed as doubtful, Feely is likely to serve as the Bears' kicker Thursday against the Cowboys.
Gould has recorded just 55 points in 12 games, while attempting just 12 field goals in that span, so assuming that Feely does get the Bears' kicking nod Thursday, he would be a speculative Week 14 play.
Mon Aug 25 201412:43Feely released by Cardinals on Monday
Feely was released by the Cardinals on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Because Feely's competition, undrafted rookie Chandler Catanzaro, has consistently placed kickoffs in the end zone throughout the preseason, the development isn't a surprise. Moreover, the duo split kicking reps in Sunday's exhibition loss to the Bengals, with Feely nailing a 24-yarder but missing from 48 (versus Catanzaro's sole success from 23). At 38 years old, Feely may find it difficult to land another gig, but with an 82.7 percent success rate on field goals in his career, he may receive a look or two this season.

Feely nailed all four extra-point attempts but wasn't handed a field goal chance Saturday in Minnesota.
Scoring aside, Feely's roster spot is up for grabs due to his kickoffs, which have waned as the veteran has aged. He's implementing a longer runup in order to get more power behind him, resulting in an average kickoff distance of 68.6 yards in his sole exhibition appearance, Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910 Phoenix reports. Thus, he's tallied no touchbacks versus Chandler Catanzaro's two, thereby hurting Feely's chances of landing the gig at the end of camp. Coach Bruce Arians said Monday that Feely and Catanzaro could share kicking duties in Sunday's preseason contest versus the Bengals, adding another layer of pressure to the competition.

Feely will be seeking coach Bruce Arians' version of "perfection" in Saturday's preseason outing at Minnesota, the Cardinals' official site reports. "[Jay] has always kicked off adequately, but when someone is kicking off better and all the kicks are the same, you're going to take the guy who is kicking off better," Arians reiterated.
Feely won't have the luxury of kicking indoors, which his competition, Chandler Catanzaro, enjoyed in the opener this past Saturday. After Catanzaro nailed all of his kicks, including three field goals and three extended extra points, the ball is now in Feely's court. Even if the veteran falters in the pleasant confines of Minneapolis, Feely will return to University of Phoenix Stadium to play catch-up on Aug. 24 versus the Bengals.
Mon Mar 10 201418:35Cardinals re-up kicker Jay Feely
Cardinals re-signed K Jay Feely.
Feely broke the news on his Twitter account, but didn't provide terms. Feely's job was in danger after a rough Week 1 last season, but he rebounded to convert 30-of-36 field-goal attempts (83.3 percent). He was 3-of-5 on kicks of 50+ yards. For his career, Feely owns an 82.7 conversion rate.

Wed Sep 11 201311:54Cardinals will stick with Jay Feely
Coach Bruce Arians said the Cardinals will stick with K Jay Feely for now.
Feely missed a 50-yard attempt and performed poorly on kickoffs against the Rams, but no change is coming. "Not at the moment," Arians said. "We've looked at the one we thought was the best available, and we'll continue with where we are at." Fantasy owners should be reaching higher.

Sat Oct 6 201209:39Jay Feely fined for Week 4 late hit
The NFL fined Cardinal K Jay Feely $7,875 for personal foul in the Cardinals' Week 4 win over the Dolphins.
It's not often we see a fine leveled against a kicker. Feely received an unnecessary roughness call when he hit an opponent late on a second half kickoff that was kicked out of the endzone for a touchback.

Fri Mar 23 201221:25Cardinals re-sign K Jay Feely
Cardinals re-signed K Jay Feely to a two-year contract.
Feely will be 36 years old during the upcoming season, but he's still plenty accurate on field goals and set a career high with 22 touchbacks last season. The NFL's new kickoff rules certainly helped that total, but it wasn't like the Cards were scoring many touchdowns. Through two seasons in Arizona, Feely is 43-of-51 on field goals, good for an 84.3-percent success rate.

Thu Mar 22 201212:44Jay Feely in contract talks with Cardinals
Free agent K Jay Feely is in contract negotiations with the Cardinals.
Feely says he's spoken to a few teams, but he'd be smart to keep kicking beneath Arizona's retractable roof. Feely went 19-for-24 on field goals last year.

Fri Dec 17 201009:01Jay Feely nearly set a record in Week 14
Jay Feely's 22 consecutive points last week are the most by any player in the Super Era, going back to 1967.
You have to go back to the era of the quarterback doubling as a kicker for the last player, Hall of Famer Paul Hornung, to accomplish the feat. Feely's 25 points finished one shy of the NFL record for a kicker, and he became just the fourth kicker in history to score a touchdown.

Sat Dec 4 201013:16Cardinals to keep UoP stadium roof open
Beat writer Kent Somers expects the Cardinals to keep the University of Phoenix roof open for the first time all season.
For the five or six of you currently rostering Feely, this shouldn't have a drastic effect on his fantasy prospects. The temperatures in Glendale call for mid-to-high 70s with minimal wind. We have Feely ranked as our No 26 kicker.
