Fri Apr 11 201420:23Cowboys could be fit for SS Steve Gregory
ESPN's Todd Archer considers the Cowboys a possible landing spot for free agent SS Steve Gregory.
The Cowboys currently have just J.J. Wilcox, Jeff Heath and Matt Johnson as strong safety options, so Gregory could be a fit as a veteran to pair with FS Barry Church. Gregory started 11 games and made 79 tackles with the Patriots last season, grading out as a top-25 safety by Pro Football Focus. Dallas has roughly $6.42 million in cap space and could likely sign Gregory to a team-friendly deal with little guaranteed money.

Patriots FS Steve Gregory (thumb) is expected to miss a few weeks.
Gregory broke his thumb during Sunday's Week 9 win over the Steelers. It's yet another significant blow to a defense that has already lost Vince Wilfork and Jerod Mayo. Gregory was wearing the communication device in his helmet for the last two weeks as the defensive leader and has graded out 11th among 85 qualifiers in ProFootballFocus' safety grades. The Patriots will have to coach up third-round rookie Duron Harmon.

Thu Jan 5 201212:51Steve Gregory wants to test free agency
Free agent SS Steve Gregory says he will test the open market this offseason in search of a starting job.
"I feel like I'm a legit starter in this league," said Gregory, who started 13 games this past season, but not by design. He was thrust into the lineup by Bob Sanders' year-ending injury. Unfortunately, Gregory may not be pleased by what he finds on the market. He graded 74th among 86 NFL safeties by Pro Football Focus this season, and caused just one turnover (a pick six).

Chargers SS Steve Gregory has played every defensive snap in each of the last two games.

Chargers SS Steve Gregory (doubtful, shoulder) is unlikely to play Week 11 against the Broncos.

Sun Nov 7 201012:13Gregory back in Chargers' lineup
Steve Gregory is back in the Chargers' starting lineup after sitting out four games for violating the league's policy against performance enhancers.
Gregory had been the Chargers' leading tackler leading up to the suspension, so this is a nice boost for the defense. He has been an every-down player this season, though the Bolts may opt to have him rotate in his first game back.
