Avant's four grabs and 43 yards marks his highest output through the first four weeks this season. Regardless, he's still just totaled 51 yards on six catches this season, and remains on the periphery of the Chiefs' offensive plans.

Avant caught just two passes for eight yards in Monday's loss to the Packers.

While he caught just two passes, the veteran wideout was actually targeted four times in the contest. The fact that the Chiefs were behind the whole second half likely played into his boosted playing time, however, so he'll likely continue seeing limited action, with a ceiling near the 38 snaps (54 percent) he saw Monday.

Avant (hip) played just nine snaps in Thursday's game against the Broncos.

Avant has been listed on the injury report with a hip issue, but his full participation in practice this week likely indicates that's not the reason he's barely playing. The Chiefs tend to employ many heavy sets with multiple tight ends, and the Chiefs seem set to give De'Anthony Thomas more snaps. Both of theses factors will likely limit Avant's playing time on Sundays.

It's not entirely clear where Avant fits on the depth chart with De'Anthony Thomas and Chris Conley also battling for time as the third wide receiver behind Jeremy Maclin and Albert Wilson. There's really no telling how many snaps he will get in this game.

Avant practiced in full all week, so it seems almost certain he'll take the field for Week 1. However, his role with the club remains a bit fuzzy at this point, but he should factor into some snaps in the slot. Avant continues to suffer from a hip sprain.

Avant's injury occurred last week, causing him to miss practice last Monday. He did play 14 snaps in Sunday's preseason game, but the veteran wideout failed to receive a target, and remains slightly hampered by the injury. If Avant is able to crack the 53-man roster, it's still unclear how much of a role he'll play on Sundays. Given his position in a run-oriented offense, he'll likely have minimal fantasy value this season.

Avant signed with the Chiefs on Friday.

Avant started last season with the Panthers but was waived and later signed with the Chiefs in November. During that short time he recorded 13 catches over five games. The 31-year-old is expected to play an ancillary role behind newly acquired Jeremy Maclin in 2015.

He continues to be the team's slot receiver for the most part, but doesn't serve a ton of value for fantasy purposes due to the Chiefs' tendencies to favor utilizing multiple tight ends and often lean more heavily on the rushing attack.

Avant caught one pass for 14 yards Sunday against the Raiders.

Avant saw just two targets and 37 percent of the offensive snaps, a second straight week of declining playing time. While he remains the team's slot receiver, the Chiefs are a run-first team and tend to utilizes multiple tight ends on a consistent basis, limiting the amount of snaps Avant sees.

Avant caught five passes for 64 yards Sunday against the Cardinals.

Avant was the most productive of all the Chiefs' receivers Sunday, with Albert Wilson (four catches, 53 yards) second. Despite the output, the veteran wideout saw a drop in snap percentage, seeing the field for just 48 percent of snaps versus 69 percent last week. He will likely continue to see limited snaps unless the Chiefs fall behind enough to eliminate the run game.

Avant caught two passes for 30 yards in his Chiefs debut Sunday against the Broncos.

Avant saw 69 percent of the offensive snaps Sunday despite being with the team for just over a week. He played under Andy Reid at Philadelphia, which could contribute to his familiarity with the system and his ability to learn the playbook relatively quickly. He should serve as the team's slot receiver for the remainder of the season barring an injury.

Avant will reportedly sign with the Chiefs, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports.

Avant was released by the Panthers on Tuesday, which may have been related to his comments about the Panthers' play-calling following the team's loss to the Falcons. He will join a Chiefs team devoid of depth at wide receiver, with Frankie Hammond currently listed as the team's second receiver. Avant will likely need a little time to learn the playbook, but should receive significant playing time once he figures it out.

Avant's release may at least in part be due to comments he made about the Panthers' play-calling following Sunday's loss to the Panthers, but head coach Ron Rivera said the move was made in order to get the team's young receivers more snaps. Avant (thigh), who was listed as questionable, had two receptions for 12 yards on six targets in Sunday's 37-19 loss to the Steelers.

With Jerrico Cotchery (hamstring) inactive, the Steelers opted to use Philly Brown as the starter across from Kelvin Benjamin, leaving Avant in his usual No. 3 wide receiver role. Through three games, Avant has eight receptions for 60 yards on 14 targets.

Avant (thigh) is active for Sunday's game versus the Steelers, the Charlotte Observer reports.

Avant is available if you need him Sunday, and he could see added looks with Jerricho Cotchery out, but Kelvin Benjamin and TE Greg Olsen are the upside plays among Carolina's pass-catchers in Week 3.
