Thu Jun 7 201214:47Chiefs TE Rucker believed to have torn ACL
The knee injury sustained by Chiefs TE Martin Rucker in last Friday's practice is believed to be a torn ACL.
Rucker will seek a second opinion before going under the knife. The injury "doesn't look good," acknowledged coach Romeo Crennel. Although Rucker had just two catches in four seasons since joining the NFL out of Missouri, he was running with the second-team offense in Kansas City this offseason.

Chiefs TE Martin Rucker suffered a knee injury in Friday's OTAs.
Rucker reportedly walked off the field with a "noticeable limp." Rucker was waived by Dallas following a costly special teams mistake in Week 1 last season. Claimed by the Jags, he was sent to I.R. with an undisclosed injury in November. He'll have a zero percent chance of earning a roster spot if he isn't 100 percent healthy.

Wed May 16 201210:14Chiefs sign TE Rucker, three others
Chiefs signed TE Martin Rucker, LB Leon Williams, DB Dominique Ellis, and OL Rich Ranglin.
Former mid-round picks Rucker and Williams share a combined 69 games of NFL experience, but are roster longshots in Kansas City. Undrafted out of South Carolina State, Ellis earned a longer look with a strong tryout in rookie camp. Ranglin played last year with the Arena League's Kansas City Command.

Wed Dec 1 201012:37TE Rucker added to active roster
Cowboys signed TE Martin Rucker from their practice squad.
The Bills tried to sign Rucker from the Cowboys' practice squad, so evidently they decided to promote him instead of losing him. Rucker was a terrific pass-catcher in college at Missouri but won't be seeing any time on offense behind Jason Witten and Martellus Bennett.
Sat Sep 4 201018:58Cowboys release Rucker, three others
Cowboys released TE Martin Rucker, NT Junior Siavii, LB Steve Octavien, and TE Jason Pociask.
DajLeon Farr was also cut, so the Cowboys have opted to go with just Jason Witten and Martellus Bennett at tight end. Supplemental pick Josh Brent's emergence allowed the team to dump backup nose tackle Siavii.

Wed Aug 11 201016:45Bucs waive/failed physical TE Rucker

Tue Aug 10 201017:22Bucs claim Rucker, waive WR Urrutia
Bucs claimed TE Martin Rucker off waivers from the Eagles and waived WR Mario Urrutia.
Rucker showed little in Eagles camp behind Clay Harbor and Cornelius Ingram, and will have just as hard a time making the Bucs without blocking ability. Urrutia was a dominant collegiate player, but his skills haven't translated.
Mon Aug 9 201008:12Eagles cut Rucker loose
Eagles released TE Martin Rucker.
The Eagles were reportedly high on Rucker after he was signed to their practice squad late last year, but obviously he's been unable to make a strong enough impression. He had little chance of making an impact, anyway, as the No. 4 tight end.
