Sun Mar 2413:46Kyle Lowry Resting On Sunday
Philadelphia 76ers guard Kyle Lowry won't play in Sunday's game against the Clippers. He logged 32 minutes in Friday's loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. But the 37-year-old isn't getting any younger, so he'll get the afternoon off before presumably returning for Monday's clash with the Sacramento Kings. But without Lowry in the mix, Nicolas Batum, averaging 5.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 33 starts during the 2023-24 campaign, may roll with the first five, giving DFS managers a value option.

Thu Mar 716:03Tyrese Maxey Out, Kyle Lowry Available Friday
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (concussion) won't play in Friday's tilt versus the New Orleans Pelicans, but guard Kyle Lowry (rest) will be available. After taking a hit to the head in Sunday's win over the Dallas Mavericks, Maxey remains in concussion protocol and will miss a third consecutive game. The All-Star guard's next chance to suit up arrives in Sunday's contest against the New York Knicks. Lowry is off the injury report after resting Wednesday, however, and his fantasy value is closely associated to Maxey's availability. Cameron Payne gave Philly some decent run in Wednesday's spot start in the loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, scoring 16 points with four assists, two threes, and one steal in 28 minutes, but he'll presumably head back to the second unit with Lowry back against the Pels. Lowry is averaging 12.7 points, 7.3 dimes, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.7 treys over his past three starts for the Sixers.

Wed Mar 615:4076ers Resting Kyle Lowry Wednesday
Philadelphia 76ers guard Kyle Lowry (rest) will be unavailable for Wednesday's tilt against the Memphis Grizzlies. After falling to the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday, the Sixers are resting Lowry on the second part of their back-to-back. The veteran floor general should be good to go for Friday's action against the New Orleans Pelicans. In the meantime, Philly is down to Cameron Payne at point guard with All-Star Tyrese Maxey (concussion) also sidelined on Wednesday, with Tobias Harris likely being tasked to handle additional ball-handling duties against an injury-ravaged Memphis club.

Fri Feb 2316:08Kyle Lowry Ruled Out On Friday
Philadelphia 76ers guard Kyle Lowry (conditioning) will not play in the second half of the team's back-to-back as part of his back-to-competition reconditioning. The veteran point guard made his presence felt during his Philly debut on Thursday as the team looked a lot more organized while he was on the floor. With a familiar coach in Nick Nurse, Lowry will likely flourish in a leadership role for this team, but that's not always going to translate to fantasy value. He's supposed to be Tyrese Maxey's backup and now that De'Anthony Melton is returning, there will be fewer minutes to go around in the backcourt. While he's out, Melton and Payne will likely see some more opportunities.

Thu Feb 2216:08Kyle Lowry Available For 76ers Debut
Philadelphia 76ers guard Kyle Lowry is available to make his team debut on Thursday against the New York Knicks. Off the court since mid-January, Lowry will suit up on Thursday and provide the Sixers with some much-needed depth. Considering the 37-year-old floor general's role is unclear in his Philly debut, Lowry is not a recommended fantasy option in both DFS and season-long settings against a Knicks group giving up the third-fewest points per game (109.9).

Tue Feb 2005:43Kyle Lowry Saw 76ers As Best Fit For Him
According to Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse, point guard Kyle Lowry had several options available to him after being bought out by Charlotte, but he chose to link up with his hometown team because the veteran sees the Sixers as the best fit for him. Having Nurse as the coach could have been one of the biggest factors in Lowry's decision to move to Philadelphia, as the two won the NBA championship together in Toronto five years ago. Lowry will be backing up first-year All-Star Tyrese Maxey at his new club. "He gives us another ball handler, backup point guard, whatever," Nurse said of Lowry. "Second point guard, whatever you want to say with that. You got some three-point shooting, and you got some very good defensive knowledge, especially team defense, schematically and stuff like that."

Sun Feb 1100:33Kyle Lowry, Hornets Agree To Buyout, Heading To Philly
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, guard Kyle Lowry and the Hornets have agreed to a contract buyout. Additionally, the veteran will sign a $2.8 million deal with Philadelphia, his hometown team. Lowry was traded to Charlotte on Thursday after spending the last few seasons in Miami. However, his production has declined since joining the team, and he averaged just 8.2 points this season. The 37-year-old has also battled various ailments over the years, appearing in 58 games or less since the 2019-2020 campaign while still with the Toronto Raptors. Nonetheless, it's doubtful Lowry will do anything meaningful for fantasy managers, even with a change of scenery. But his presence could have a positive impact on the surging Tyrese Maxey, who is anticipated to remain Philly's top offensive contributor while Joel Embiid (knee) recovers from meniscus surgery.

Fri Feb 915:57Grant Williams, Kyle Lowry Out Against Bucks
Charlotte Hornets forward Grant Williams (recently traded) and guard Kyle Lowry won't suit up for Friday's contest against the Milwaukee Bucks. Williams could eventually play a meaningful role for the Hornets upon his debut, so while he's worth watching in season-long fantasy leagues, the 25-year-old won't play on Friday. Lowry's status is worth noting because general manager Mitch Kupchak previously stated the veteran guard wouldn't play before Thursday's trade deadline. Lowry remains away from the team, meaning they could still be working toward a buyout. With LaMelo Ball (ankle) and Mark Williams (back) on the shelf, Charlotte is going to be razor-thin both inside and out on Friday. The offense will center around Miles Bridges and Brandon Miller, but it's a nightmarish draw against a Bucks team that was just blown out on their home floor on Thursday.

Tue Jan 2318:21Hornets Landing Kyle Lowry, First-Round Pick
The Miami Heat are trading guard Kyle Lowry and a 2027 first-round pick to the Charlotte Hornets for Terry Rozier. Though it's hard to imagine the 37-year-old former All-Star suiting up at all for the 10-31 Hornets, they "have no immediate plans to work on a buyout and are expected to see if they can work another trade for him before the Feb. 8 deadline". It's equally as difficult to envision Lowry starting alongside LaMelo Ball in Charlotte's backcourt, so the veteran floor general's already-declining fantasy arrow is pointing down. With decent averages of 8.2 points, 4.0 assists, 1.7 three-pointers on 38.5% shooting from deep, and 1.1 steals in 28.0 minutes across 37 contests, Lowry is managing top-150 value in nine-category fantasy leagues and remains a glue guy for contending rosters needing solid shooting, passing, and defense. Lowry is worth watching to see if he heads to a more favorable destination elsewhere.

Mon Jan 1518:56Kyle Lowry Will Suit Up Monday Versus Nets
Miami Heat guard Kyle Lowry (hand) was originally listed as doubtful due to a left hand sprain but it seems like he's good enough to play since the team has officially upgraded him to active on Monday. The veteran guard should take his spot in the starting five again along with Jimmy Butler (toe) and Tyler Herro who are both active as well. Unfortunately, Lowry's play hasn't translated to a great fantasy performance as he's outside of the top 115 in nine-category leagues and only averages 8.9 points, 4.0 assists, 3.6 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 1.5 turnovers per game. Fantasy managers in deep leagues could continue to play him, but he's not a must-start in 12-team leagues.

Wed Jan 1009:30Kyle Lowry Doubtful For Wednesday's Action
Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry (hand) is listed as doubtful for Wednesday's meeting with the Thunder. He sprained his left hand on Monday versus Houston and hasn't yet shaken off the injury. Lowry's absence could result in another start for R.J. Hampton, although he hasn't been very productive for Miami. Tyler Herro and Josh Richardson should take care of most of the playmaking duties, with Duncan Robinson also in a position to pick up some of the available backcourt minutes. It's a nice pace-up spot for the Heat and a good game to target for fantasy managers.

Tue Jan 909:19Kyle Lowry Sprains Left Hand Versus Rockets
Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry sprained his left hand in Monday's matchup against Houston and was limited to only 16 minutes on the court. The veteran exited the game in the third quarter and finished with six points, two rebounds, one assist, and two blocks. Miami returns to action on Wednesday against Oklahoma City, and it looks like the team could be without another option, with Jimmy Butler (foot) and Caleb Martin (ankle) having already missed multiple games. Jaime Jaquez Jr. has started to see massive minutes with all the injuries, while Josh Richardson and Duncan Robinson are also heavily used off the bench.

Mon Jan 120:44Kyle Lowry Back On Monday Evening
Miami Heat guard Kyle Lowry (head) will play on Monday against the Los Angeles Clippers. Lowry hasn't been as productive this season, averaging 9.4 points, his lowest in years. But with Jimmy Butler (foot), Josh Richardson (back), and Caleb Martin (ankle) out, Lowry could see an uptick in production. Unfortunately, he's still a risky fantasy option in any format.

Sat Dec 30 202316:18Kyle Lowry Out Again On Saturday Night
Miami Heat guard Kyle Lowry (head) won't play on Saturday versus the Utah Jazz. The veteran will now miss his second consecutive game because of a head contusion, although there's a chance he could return on Monday versus the Los Angeles Clippers. Nonetheless, Lowry has averaged only 9.4 points this season, one of the lowest marks of his career, so his absence won't impact many fantasy managers. However, his absence could at least keep R.J. Hampton in the starting lineup. Unfortunately, Hampton likely won't receive attention from fantasy managers, either, considering he's averaged just 2.5 points this season.

Sat Dec 30 202309:57Kyle Lowry Listed As Questionable Saturday
Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry (soreness) has been tagged questionable for Saturday's encounter with Utah. He could be out for a second consecutive game after already missing Thursday's matchup with Golden State due to general soreness. R.J. Hampton was lifted into the starting unit as Lowry's replacement. He didn't do a lot in 25 minutes of action, finishing with seven points, two rebounds, and three assists. It should be an easier outing for him on Saturday, as the Jazz give up the second-most assists to opposing point guards, although having already sat out once this week, there should be a good chance that Lowry returns.

Thu Dec 28 202318:51Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry Out Against Warriors
The Miami Heat will be without forward Jimmy Butler (calf) and guard Kyle Lowry (soreness) Thursday against the Golden State Warriors. It leaves the Heat devoid of two offense initiators, with Butler out due to a strained left calf and Lowry with general soreness. After suffering the injury on Dec. 18, Butler's return timeline is unclear. But considering that the 34-year-old point forward partially practiced Wednesday, Butler should have a decent chance to return Saturday against the Utah Jazz. Tyler Herro should engineer Miami's offense as their top distributor Thursday, sharing duties as the foremost scoring threat alongside Bam Adebayo. Catch-and-shoot plays should be abundant for Duncan Robinson (ankle), since Josh Richardson (back) and Caleb Martin (ankle) are doubtful, while standout rookie ... [More]

Sun Dec 24 202313:57Kyle Lowry Not On The Injury Report
Miami Heat guard Kyle Lowry (leg) isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Monday's Christmas showdown with the Philadelphia 76ers. Lowry briefly exited Friday's meeting versus the Atlanta Hawks with a lower leg injury. However, he managed to return, logging 22 minutes on the night. At any rate, the 27-year-old hasn't been a viable fantasy asset this season, considering he has averaged 9.3 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.8 rebounds, so his availability for Monday won't mean much to fantasy managers.

Wed Dec 20 202310:02Kyle Lowry Available On Wednesday
Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry (general soreness) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Wednesday's battle with Orlando. He's played some heavy minutes lately and got ruled out with general soreness on Monday versus Minnesota. Lowry should be back as a starter on Wednesday and could have more playmaking duties with Jimmy Butler (calf) absent. The veteran floor general has averaged 9.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.2 steals in 29.9 minutes this season. The Magic have been one of the top teams in the league defensively this season, but their numbers against point guards aren't great, so this could be Lowry's chance to shine.

Mon Dec 11 202318:59Kyle Lowry Available Against Hornets
Miami Heat guard Kyle Lowry (back) has been upgraded to available on Monday and will take the floor against the Charlotte Hornets. The veteran guard was dealing with back spasms, but it seems that they've subsided enough for him to play. He was able to put up 17 points, five assists, and two steals in their last matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers. This game should present a bit of an easier night, so any managers looking for some point guard stat contributors, Lowry should be a quality option.

Tue Oct 3 202321:44Kyle Lowry Believes He Will Start
Miami Heat guard Kyle Lowry "expects to be the starting point guard" for the team in the 2023-24 season. The 37-year-old said so himself when asked by reporters at training camp on Tuesday, but head coach Erik Spoelstra hasn't yet decided on a starting lineup. Lowry may possesses a seniority advantage of sorts and certainly came away as a big winner of the Heat bowing out of the Damian Lillard sweepstakes this offseason. But the six-time All-Star's best fantasy days are probably behind him, averaging 11.2 points, 5.1 assists, and 1.9 three-pointers last year with each figure marking his lowest in a decade. Miami could opt for a look at the returning Josh Richardson in the starting unit with Tyler Herro playing at the 1. With no guarantee he will start, Lowry barely looks worth a top-150 pick in fall fantasy drafts.
