Hartline caught one pass for five yards on three targets in Sunday's win over Baltimore.
In a Cleveland receiving corps without many experienced targets, the solid-but-not-spectacular Hartline was to serve as a dependable presence. That hasn't happened, however, as Hartline trails the likes of Taylor Gabriel and rookie running back Duke Johnson in catches and targets. Since a quality 96-yard performance against Oakland in Week 3, Hartline has caught just two passes on four targets. While, in fairness, Hartline has been banged up with thigh and rib injuries, he may be phased out of the offense by the time he's healthy with the emergence of the speedy Travis Benjamin and veteran tight end Gary Barnidge.

Hartline (ribs/thigh) is active Sunday against the Ravens.
Hartline was a non-participant in practice both Wednesday and Thursday, but early reports Sunday morning suggested he would be ready to play after logging a limited practice Friday. Even though he'll be suiting up, it's tough to trust a receiver who has just eight catches through four weeks from a fantasy standpoint. Nonetheless, Hartline should be in the mix for targets, along with Travis Benjamin and Andrew Hawkins, against a Baltimore pass defense that has allowed 242.3 passing yards per game.
Sun Oct 11 201509:11Hartline (ribs/thigh) expected to play Sunday against Ravens
Hartline (ribs/thigh) is expected to play Sunday against the Ravens, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Hartline is officially listed as questionable for the game, though even if he's fully healthy and starting, he makes for a tough fantasy play given the struggles of the Browns' passing game (and his lack of participation in it aside from his five-catch, 96-yard Week 3 output).

Hartline (ribs/thigh) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Ravens.
Aside from a five-catch, 96-yard effort in Week 3, Hartline hasn't made much of a fantasy impact as a Brown thus far, but those inclined to roll the dice on him anyway in Week 5 are advised to look into his status in advance of Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff.
Thu Oct 8 201517:40Hartline (ribs/thigh) didn't practice Thursday
Hartline (ribs/thigh) didn't practice Thursday, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
What Hartline is able to do at practice Friday will be telling with regard to his Week 5 status, though so far, his fantasy impact as a Brown has been limited to a five-catch, 96-yard performance in Week 3 against the Raiders.

Hartline (ribs/thigh) does not appear on Wednesday's practice participation/injury report.
Previous reports suggested that the wideout woul;d not practice Wednesday, so we'll keep an eye out as the week rolls along to see if his name does end up popping up on the Browns' Week 5 injury report.
Wed Oct 7 201513:09Hartline (ribs/thigh) won't practice Wednesday
Hartline (ribs/thigh) won't practice Wednesday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Hartline's status for Sunday's game against the Ravens will thus need to be monitored, though so far, his fantasy impact in a Cleveland uniform has been limited to a five-catch, 96-yard effort in Week 3.

Hartline suffered a thigh injury in Sunday's game against the Chargers and is questionable to return, Nate Ulrich of Ohio.com reports.
Hartline has seven receptions for 116 yards through three games this season. Expect Travis Benjamin and Dwayne Bowe to replace Hartline in the game. The severity of the injury is still unknown.

Hartline secured five of his seven targets for 96 yards Sunday against Oakland.
Hartline picked up 51 more yards than fellow receiver Travis Benjamin on three less targets, although Benjamin came away with a receiving touchdown. The return of quarterback Josh McCown (concussion) makes the whole Browns passing game more fantasy-friendly, but the team may not throw the ball enough every week for Hartline to consistently put up lines like this one.

Hartline had two catches on five targets for 20 yards Sunday against the Jets.
One of Hartline's catches was an excellent one-handed grab while he was getting tackled by Darrelle Revis, though there are no extra style points in most fantasy formats. The pass came from backup Johnny Manziel, who entered the game early in the second quarter after Josh McCown suffered a concussion. The Browns' passing attack wasn't expected to be prolific this season, and while Manziel brings an extra layer due to his rushing ability, Hartline's fantasy prospects are still rather limited.
Tue Sep 8 201513:20Brian Hartline: Listed As Starter
Hartline (foot) is listed as a starter on the Browns' Week 1 depth chart, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Hartline did not start at all during the preseason, but with Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) struggling and Vince Mayle being released, the path was cleared for him to open the season in the starting lineup opposite Andrew Hawkins. Hartline's production took a step back last year, but he still started all 16 games, and will be the Browns' top downfield threat heading into the regular season.

Hartline was held out of Tuesday's practice after his foot was stepped on during Monday's session, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
This sounds like a non-issue, but with the start of the season less than two weeks away, even very minor injuries are worth keeping an eye on. Hartline may only be the Browns' No. 3 wide receiver, as Dwayne Bowe and Andrew Hawkins started Saturday's preseason game against the Bucs.

Hartline caught just one of the three passes thrown his way -- a three-yard touchdown pass -- in Saturday's preseason victory over Tampa Bay.
Hartline now has six catches for 51 yards and a score over his first three preseason games. He should serve as a top-3 receiver in the Browns' offense, which bodes well for his chances of surpassing a three-year low in both receptions (39) and yards (474) set in 2014.

Hartline caught two passes for 18 yards in Thursday's preseason game against the Bills.
Hartline's two catches actually tied for a Browns team-lead Thursday, despite his limited involvement. Projected as Cleveland's No. 2 wideout this season, Hartline hauled in both passes thrown his way Thursday.

Hartline is listed as a starting wide receiver on the Browns second "unofficial" preseason depth chart, ESPN Cleveland reports.
Hartline is expected to eventually lose that status to free agent acquisition Dwayne Bowe, but will hang on to the job for the time being while Bowe deals with a hamstring injury. Nonetheless, Hartline, who led the Browns in receiving in Thursday's preseason opener, should still see plenty of snaps in three wide receiver sets during the regular season. Whether or not this translates to noteworthy fantasy value remains to be seen.

Hartline caught 3-of-3 targets for 30 yards in Thursday's preseason opener against the Redskins.
Hartline caught two passes for 16 yards on Josh McCown's only drive, later adding another reception for 14 yards from Johnny Manziel. With the Browns lacking high-end talent at wide receiver, it's conceivable Hartline could become McCown's favorite option. The competition for targets includes Dwayne Bowe (hamstring), slot specialist Andrew Hawkins, Taylor Gabriel and Travis Benjamin. If anyone is going to push Hartline or Bowe for snaps on the outside, it will likely be Gabriel.
Mon Mar 9 201519:52Hartline agreed to contract with Browns on Monday
Hartline agreed to a contract with the Browns on Monday, Dustin Fox of CBS Cleveland reports.
After back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2012 and 2013, Hartline fell back to 39 receptions (on 63 targets) for 474 yards and two touchdowns last year, despite playing the entire slate for a fourth campaign in a row, and fifth time in six professional seasons. Considering the dire state of Cleveland's wideout corps following Josh Gordon's year-long suspension, Hartline has in hand a great opportunity to fill the void.
Tue Mar 3 201515:02Hartline slated to visit Browns on Tuesday
Hartline is slated to visit the Browns on Tuesday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
The Browns are clearly looking upgrade at wideout, in the wake of Josh Gordon's suspension, but Hartline -- an Ohio native -- who was let go by Miami for cap reasons, could still end up returning to the Dolphins, who have a stated interest in bringing the 28-year-old wideout back at a reduced rate.
Fri Feb 27 201510:20Hartline released by Dolphins on Friday
Hartline was released by the Dolphins on Friday, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Following consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, Hartline produced an ugly 39-474-2 receiving line on 63 targets in 2014. He's never been an explosive player, and his per-target production is typically underwhelming. With Mike Wallace also carrying a bloated contract, the Miami receiving corps may undergo an offseason overhaul. Jarvis Landry is seemingly assured of a big role in 2015, but it remains to be seen how the rest will shake out. As for Hartline, the 28-year-old wideout should be able to find a team that allows him to compete for a starting job in training camp. However, he's unlikely to re-emerge as a 1,000-yard receiver.

Hartline has five receptions for 94 yards in Sunday's loss to the Jets.
Hartline finishes a disappointing 2014 campaign with just 39 receptions for 474 yards and two touchdowns. The emergence of Jarvis Landry made Hartline an afterthought in the passing game and it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone should Hartline find himself playing for another team next season.
