Wed Apr 24 201316:11Cardinals sign two wide receivers
Cardinals signed WRs Jarett Dillard and Robert Gill.
Dillard caught 29 passes for the Jaguars in 2011, but was out of football last season. He'll fight for a spot on special teams. Gill is an Arena League veteran going on 29. He's the longest of long-shots.

Mon Aug 27 201214:29Lions part ways with WR Jarett Dillard
Lions waived WR Jarett Dillard.
Still only 26, Dillard is skilled enough to hang around in the NFL, but simply couldn't crack Detroit's deep receiver corps. He caught only two passes for 13 yards in three preseason games. He might not be an immediate waiver claim, but should appear in a game at some point this season. He's an adept special teamer.

Mon Jun 11 201213:27Lions sign Jarett Dillard to one-year deal
Lions signed WR Jarett Dillard to a one-year contract.
Modestly talented but dogged by injuries in his career, the 26-year-old Dillard can play special teams and profiles as a No. 4 NFL receiver. He's entering a deep group in Detroit, obviously, and will be hard pressed to make the club.

Mon May 7 201211:24Jaguars part ways with WR Jarett Dillard
Jaguars waived WR Jarett Dillard.
Dillard was on the roster bubble even before Jacksonville brought aboard Laurent Robinson, Lee Evans and drafted Justin Blackmon, so his release is hardly a surprise. The 2009 fifth-round pick was given a chance to start down the stretch last season, but responded by catching more than three passes just twice. Dillard finished the year with 29 grabs for 292 yards and a score after missing all of 2010 with a toe injury. His NFL future is dim.

Sun Jan 1 201217:07Dillard held to eight yards in Week 17
Jarett Dillard managed just one reception for eight yards in Week 17 versus the Colts.
Forced into the starting lineup due to Jason Hill's ineffectiveness, the 2009 fifth-rounder topped 50 yards just once all season. Finishing with 29 receptions, 292 yards, and one touchdown, Dillard will have to fight for a roster spot in 2012.

Sat Dec 24 201117:59Jarett Dillard catches five balls in loss
Jarett Dillard caught five passes for 61 yards in the Jaguars' Week 16 loss to the Titans.
Dillard was an every-down receiver and did well to work back to the ball on a couple Blaine Gabbert scrambles. Still, he's done nothing to show us that he should be a starter in 2012. Dillard has now topped three catches just twice all season. The Jaguars must upgrade their receiving corps in the offseason.

Thu Dec 15 201123:49Dillard held to 12 yards in Week 15
Jarett Dillard caught just two passes for 12 yards against the Falcons in Week 15.
Dillard flunked his audition for a 2012 starting role, dropping a pass and muffing a punt return that led to a Michael Turner touchdown. He's unworthy of a roster spot even in the deepest of Dynasty leagues.

Wed Dec 14 201109:41Jarett Dillard, West to start Thursday?
Jarett Dillard, Kassim Osgood and Chastin West are expected to be the Jaguars' top three wideouts in Thursday's game against the Falcons.
The Jaguars' receiving corps was bad enough before Mike Thomas (concussion) and Cecil Shorts (hamstring) went down. Now they are down to borderline NFL players and special teamers. Even the most desperate of owners can do better than rolling the dice on this passing game.

Tue Dec 6 201100:39Dillard catches two of seven targets vs. SD
Jarett Dillard caught just two of his seven targets for 14 yards in Monday's loss to the Chargers.
Dillard supposedly has 'big play ability,' but we'd never know in Blaine Gabbert's incompetent attack. Add Dillard to the list of receivers you don't care about in Jacksonville.

Thu Dec 1 201112:51Jarett Dillard working with starters Thursday
WR Jarett Dillard was working with the starters at Thursday's practice.
For now, it looks like Dillard has been tabbed as the man to replace waived Jason Hill in the starting lineup. If that sticks, we'd expect Cecil Shorts to rotate in plenty. Still, this Jags' passing game is one to avoid in fantasy. Blaine Gabbert is completing just 48.5 percent of his passes and has thrown six touchdowns all year.

Wed Aug 3 201101:13Dillard has regained speed, explosiveness
Jaguars WR Jarett Dillard has regained his speed and explosiveness after two seasons cut short by lower-leg injuries.
"I think he's faster than ever," said coordinator Dirk Koetter. "He looks real explosive." The he only player in college football history to catch more than 20 touchdowns in a season twice, Dillard is battling rookie Cecil Shorts for the No. 3 receiver role. Shorts has also impressed onlookers with his early-camp work.

Thu Jul 7 201114:30Jags believe Dillard has big-play ability
According to Jaguars.com's John Oehser, the coaching staff still believes WR Jarett Dillard possesses "big-play ability" after two seasons lost to injury.
An obscenely productive college receiver with great hands and outstanding leaping ability, Dillard did enter the league with that big-play ability. As long as he stays healthy, he should have the clear upper hand on rookie Cecil Shorts for the No. 3 receiver role.

Sun Jul 3 201115:58Jaguars still have high hopes for Dillard?
ESPN AFC South blogger Paul Kuharsky believes the Jaguars still have "high hopes for a healthy Jarett Dillard."
Dillard's first two seasons have been ruined by a broken ankle and a stress fracture in his toe. At this point, it looks like the Jags will concentrate on defense in free agency, leaving Dillard to battle rookie Cecil Shorts for the slot receiver job. That position holds no fantasy value in Dirk Koetter's offense.

Fri May 27 201117:48Dillard, Shorts battle to be Jaguars' slot WR
Jaguars GM Gene Smith confirmed that he expects Jarett Dillard and rookie Cecil Shorts to compete for the team's slot receiver position.
"Both of these guys have good speed on the inside," said Smith. "They're both strong and they both have excellent hands ... They can play outside, but they both have the versatility to compete inside." Mike Thomas is ticketed for more outside duty this season. Dillard has been unable to stay healthy, and may not make the team if he doesn't beat out Shorts.

Fri Mar 4 201111:52Jags GM: Dillard could be breakout player
GM Gene Smith still believes Jarett Dillard is a "promising breakout player" at receiver for the Jaguars.
Dillard missed last season with a stress-fracture in his toe after a broken ankle ruined his rookie campaign. The Jags GM also has high hopes that Jason Hill can be "an explosive receiver." Smith may target a mid-round prospect in the draft, but Hill and Dillard are the primary candidates to start opposite Mike Thomas in 2011.

Thu Sep 16 201011:16Dillard has full-blown stress fracture
Jaguars WR Jarett Dillard (injured reserve, foot) has been diagnosed with a full-blown stress fracture.
Dillard won't even be cleared for run for 8-12 weeks. He's not going to have surgery, but this is the kind of injury that can linger for a very long time. After competing for the No. 2 WR job this offseason, Dillard's long-term outlook is shaky at best.

Sat Sep 11 201015:34Jags place WR Dillard on I/R, sign Matthews
Jaguars placed WR Jarett Dillard (toe) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Dillard was only expected to miss the season opener, so the stress fracture he suffered in the preseason is clearly more serious than previously expected. Dillard was competing for the team's No. 2 WR job, and the injury is a big blow to his long term prospects. The team signed WR John Matthews off the practice squad to replace Dillard.

Fri Sep 10 201013:30Jarett Dillard ruled out
Jaguars WR Jarett Dillard (foot) has been ruled out for Week 1.
The concern is that Dillard has sustained a setback in his recovery from a stress fracture in his toe. Troy Williamson figures to be Jacksonville's No. 3 receiver against Denver, behind Mike Sims-Walker and Mike Thomas.

Thu Sep 9 201017:02Jarett Dillard limited in Thursday's practice
Jarett Dillard (foot) was limited in Thursday's practice.
Dillard missed the majority of August with a stress fracture in his toe, but he did return in time to see action in the third preseason game. He's likely to play Sunday, if only in a fourth receiver role.
