Mon Feb 14 202214:56Eric Bledsoe Won't Play On Monday
Portland Trail Blazers guard Eric Bledsoe (Achilles) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. He has yet to suit up for Portland after being traded there during the deadline. It sounds like the veteran guard will miss at least one more game. Anfernee Simons and Josh Hart should play heavy minutes on Monday. Simons should be an excellent DFS option while the Blazers are shorthanded. It's uncertain if Bledsoe will have much of a role in the rotation once he is cleared to play.

Wed Feb 9 202217:53Eric Bledsoe Out Again On Wednesday
Portland Trail Blazers guard Eric Bledsoe (Achilles) will be out once again for Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Bledsoe, who was acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers last Friday, has yet to make his debut with the Blazers. He is dealing with left Achilles tendinitis. It's unclear at this point whether or not the 32-year-old veteran will remain with the Blazers or get traded again prior to Thursday's trade deadline. If he remains in Portland and gets healthy, he could find himself playing a big role on a team that's greatly lacking in playmakers. Anfernee Simons should lead the backcourt for the Blazers on Wednesday with help from CJ Elleby, Ben McLemore and Dennis Smith Jr.

Fri Feb 4 202214:46Portland Acquires Eric Bledsoe, Justise Winslow
Veteran guard Eric Bledsoe and former lottery selection Justise Winslow highlight the return package that the Portland Trail Blazers have acquired in the deal that sends Norman Powell and Robert Covington to the Clippers. Bledsoe had seen his role diminish in his first season back with LA, averaging just 9.9 points across 25.2 minutes on a nightly basis, marks set to be his lowest since his most recent year with the Clippers in 2012-13. Winslow has struggled to crack the rotation, as he is on pace for career lows with 4.2 points and 12.9 minutes per contest. Both should see their respective roles expand with the Blazers, as Damian Lillard (abdominal) remains on the shelf.

Mon Dec 27 202111:39Eric Bledsoe Has A Productive Night At Both Ends
Los Angeles Clippers point guard Eric Bledsoe produced an 18-point, 10-assist double-double against the Nuggets on Sunday and added five steals and two blocks to his line. He pulled down a pair of rebounds as well, shooting 8-for-17 from the field with three turnovers in 37 minutes. With Reggie Jackson (health and safety protocols) and Paul George (elbow) out of commission, Bledsoe is the head honcho offensively for the Clippers, and he's produced strong performances in back-to-back games. He'll be heading out next against Brooklyn, which has been a golden matchup for point guards this season.

Thu Dec 23 202109:23Eric Bledsoe Cooks Up A Very Good Line As Starter
Los Angeles Clippers point guard Eric Bledsoe returned to the starting unit on Wednesday against Sacramento and had a very good performance with 19 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, shooting 8-for-15 from the field with a 1-for-4 effort from downtown. The Clippers lost a number of backcourt pieces for the matchup and Bledsoe came to the rescue. The 32-year-old has struggled in Los Angeles, but he could now have a strong finish to the calendar year with Reggie Jackson (health and safety protocols) unavailable. The Clippers have their next game on Sunday against a Nuggets team that has problems slowing down guards. Former Clipper Shai Gilgeous-Alexander just posted a triple-double against them.

Wed Dec 22 202120:47Eric Bledsoe Rejoins Starting Five Wednesday
LA Clippers point guard Eric Bledsoe has been elevated back into the starting lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Kings, taking the place of Reggie Jackson. Bledsoe started the first 22 games of the season for LA before shifting to a bench role that has seen him average just 8.7 points across 21.8 minutes on a nightly basis. The veteran has been particularly flummoxed when facing the Kings this season, having gone 0-for-7 from the field in the last meeting between the two teams Dec. 4. Despite those woes, Bledsoe has significant DFS upside due to the lack of depth in the Clippers backcourt. Fantasy managers can also anticipate Terance Mann seeing a bump in offensive usage without Jackson available.

Fri Dec 3 202120:54Eric Bledsoe Will Come Off The Bench On Friday
Los Angeles Clippers guard Eric Bledsoe will come off the bench for Friday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Clippers have lost four of their last five games, so it's not surprising that they've decided to shake it up. Bledsoe should still have decent appeal off the bench, but there are probably better options available for Friday's slate. Reggie Jackson, Paul George, Marcus Morris, Serge Ibaka and Ivica Zubac will start, but Bledsoe could rejoin the starting five soon.

Fri Oct 22 202109:20Eric Bledsoe Drops 22 Points In Season Opener
Los Angeles Clippers guard Eric Bledsoe had a strong performance in his first game in a Clippers jersey since 2013 on Thursday. Facing the Golden State Warriors in the team's season opener, Bledsoe shot 10-for-16 from the field and scored 22 points, second on the team to Paul George, who dropped 29. Bledsoe also added three rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block. He didn't surrender any turnovers in the contest. Bledsoe is coming off a rough year. As a member of the New Orleans Pelicans in 2020-21, he averaged just 12.2 points per game while shooting 42.1% from the field. He could be in for a bounce-back year now that he's reunited with the team he began his career with.

Sun Aug 15 202122:07Eric Bledsoe Heading To Los Angeles
The Clippers acquired guard Eric Bledsoe from Memphis on Sunday in exchange for Patrick Beverley, Rajon Rondo, and Daniel Oturu. Bledsoe was recently traded to the Grizzlies by the New Orleans Pelicans, where he averaged 12.2 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.4 rebounds throughout 71 games last season. With the move, the 31-year-old will head back to Los Angeles, which he played for during his first three years in the league. Nonetheless, the former Kentucky Wildcat has the potential to see an increase in production during the 2021-22 campaign, primarily since Kawhi Leonard (knee) may miss more time than anticipated moving ahead. Fantasy managers should keep Bledsoe on the radar, as long as anyone who picks him up can handle his shoddy shooting percentages.

Mon Jul 26 202121:11AP Source: Pelicans, Grizzlies, agree to multi-player trade
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to trade center Jonas Valanciunas to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for center Steven Adams, guard Eric Bledsoe and a swap of multiple draft choices, a person familiar with the situation said. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity on Monday because no trade can become official until Aug. 6. The trade, first reported by ESPN, sends New Orleans' 10th and 40th overall draft choices to Memphis for the Grizzlies' 17th and 51st overall picks this year. Memphis also will receive a protected 2022 first-round choice from New Orleans. The deal comes on the heels of New Orleans' decision to hire Willie Green, their third head coach in three seasons, as the franchise faces mounting pressure to inspire confidence in star forward Zion Williamson after missing the playoffs his first two NBA campaigns. Valanciunas has played nine seasons in the NBA, averaging 12.9 and 9.2 points per game. The 29-year-old center from... [More]

Wed May 19 202112:06Holiday eager to help Milwaukee take next step in playoffs
MILWAUKEE (AP) — The price the Bucks paid to add Jrue Holiday to their roster and the amount they invested to keep him underscores how much Milwaukee believes the guard can help them end a half-century of NBA postseason frustration. Holiday gets his chance to hold up his end of the deal this weekend when the Bucks begin a first-round series with the Miami Heat, who eliminated them in the second round last year. “I think for somebody who just wants an opportunity to win and do the best they can, to come to a team like this and try to make something happen, I’m ready for this,” Holiday said. “I’m excited to get going.” Milwaukee posted the NBA’s best regular-season record in 2018-19 and 2019-20 but fell short in the playoffs both times. The Bucks responded by overhauling their roster and putting a new group around two-time reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and two-time All-Star forward Khris Middleton. No change was bigger than the addition of Holiday, who is playing for a legitimate title... [More]
Mon Apr 5 202118:10Bucks' Holiday says signing extension was easy decision
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Jrue Holiday says it was an easy decision to sign a contract extension in his first season with the Milwaukee Bucks. Holiday pretty much knew he wanted to stay in Milwaukee for years to come once he spoke to team officials shortly after they paid a steep price to acquire him. General manager Jon Horst made it apparent how much the Bucks valued the veteran guard. “I feel like you can tell when somebody’s like super excited or happy about something, and you could hear it in his voice,” Holiday said Monday, one day after agreeing to terms on a four-year extension that would be worth at least $134 million if he exercises his option for the final season. “At that point, I’m like, ‘Man, he really wanted me to be here.’ “I’m really not the type to be wooed and all that. I don’t need to be courted or whatever, but it felt good to be appreciated. It felt good to be wanted.” Under the terms of his new deal, Holiday receives base salaries of $30.1 million next season, $32.4 million... [More]
Sun Apr 4 202116:25Holiday, Bucks ink 4-year extension worth at least $134M
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee Bucks guard Jrue Holiday followed up his biggest game of the season by making a long-term commitment to his new team. Holiday agreed to a four-year contract extension that would be worth at least $134 million if he exercises his option for the final season. The Bucks announced the agreement Sunday. “I'm a Buck for life,” Holiday said in a video posted on the Bucks' Twitter account. “Just know that I'm glad to be a part of Bucks Nation. Let's do some big things, man. I'm really excited.” The announcement came one day after Holiday had a season-high 33 points as well as 11 assists and seven rebounds in a 129-128 victory at Sacramento. Holiday's performance enabled the Bucks to withstand the absence of reigning two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who sat out with a sore left knee. The move represents the latest step in the Bucks’ heavy investment in their trio of Holiday, Antetokounmpo and two-time All-Star Khris Middleton as the franchise chases its first NBA title... [More]

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee Bucks guard Jrue Holiday has agreed to a four-year contract extension that would be worth at least $134 million if he exercises his option for the final season. The move represents the latest step in the Bucks’ heavy investment in their trio of Holiday, two-time reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and two-time All-Star Khris Middleton as the franchise chases its first NBA title since 1971. "Jrue is one of the top guards in the NBA and we are thrilled to sign him to this extension,” Bucks general manager Jon Horst said in a statement Sunday. “Adding him to our team has made us better on both ends of the floor. He’s an elite defender and an impactful offensive player with the ability to score, shoot and facilitate.” Holiday had a $26.7 million player option remaining for the 2021-21 season as part of the five-year, $126 million contract he signed with the New Orleans Pelicans in July 2017. Under the terms of this deal, Holiday declines that option but receives base... [More]
Sat Dec 19 202011:38New NBA coaches for 9 teams navigating compressed timeline
Pelicans first-year coach Stan Van Gundy was hired less than two months before the Pelicans first preseason game earlier this week. Never mind that he's taking over a roster that is loaded with young players and has been entirely overhauled since New Orleans hired David Griffin as executive vice president of basketball operations in 2019. So when Van Gundy was asked whether he expected to have a clear vision for individual players' roles and minutes during the preseason, he didn't hesitate to say he did not even expect to know that when New Orleans' regular season slate opens on Dec. 23. “I’m not sure I’ll be there on Jan. 15 either. It’s going to take some time," Van Gundy continued. "I want these guys in a mindset of competing and having to produce for minutes.” While coaches with overhauled rosters face similar challenges trying to navigate a compressed timeline that is loaded with uncertainty, it's even more difficult for Van Gundy and the eight other NBA teams with new coaches this... Tue Dec 15 202020:05Giannis Antetokounmpo agrees to extension with Bucks
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Giannis Antetokounmpo has agreed to a supermax extension with the Milwaukee Bucks that takes the two-time reigning MVP off next summer's free-agent market. “I’m blessed to be a part of the Milwaukee Bucks for the next 5 years,” Antetokounmpo posted Tuesday on his social media platforms. The Bucks announced later in the day that Antetokounmpo had signed an extension without announcing the terms or length. The 26-year-old Antetokounmpo had until Monday to sign the Bucks’ supermax extension offer. If he turned it down, Antetokounmpo could have become a free agent after the upcoming season. Wed Dec 9 202021:31Antetokounmpo won't say whether he will sign supermax offer
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Giannis Antetokounmpo praised the “amazing” moves the Milwaukee Bucks have made to improve the team, but the two-time reigning MVP stopped short Wednesday of saying he would sign a supermax contract extension offer. “Right now I’m not focusing on that,” Antetokounmpo said during his first preseason discussion with reporters. “I know my agent, Alex (Saratsis), and (general manager) Jon Horst and the Bucks ownership are focusing on those discussions. I’m just trying to focus on myself and how I can get better, how I can help my teammates be better, how I can be ready Saturday to play our first preseason game.” Antetokounmpo, who turned 26 last week, would be able to receive up to 35% of the salary cap with an 8% escalation each year of the deal under a supermax extension. The Bucks were able to offer a five-year deal worth over $220 million. He has until Dec. 21 to sign the extension, or else he will be eligible to become a free agent after the 2020-21 season.
