McKnight will be brought into Houston's training camp Wednesday for an audition, the Houston Chronicle reports.
The Texans have to think about replacing Arian Foster, who is expected to be placed on short-term injured reserve and miss multiple games with a groin injury. McKnight, Ben Malena and Pierre Thomas will also workout Wednesday. Of the three, the team is most interested in Thomas.
Tue Sep 30 201418:24McKnight (Achilles) placed on injured reserve Tuesday
McKnight (Achilles) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports.
McKnight ruptured his Achilles in practice last week, so it was just a matter of time before he ended up on IR. The fourth-year back posted a career game in Week 3 with Jamaal Charles out with an ankle injury, catching six passes for 64 yards and two scores, after not playing at all in 2013. His loss makes the eventual return of De'Anthony Thomas (hamstring) more intriguing, though Charles and Knile Davis will continue to handle most of the work out of the backfield for Kansas City.

McKnight (Achilles) will not play in Monday's game against the Patriots.
McKnight surprised with two touchdowns in Week 3, but any momentum he had was stomped out by the ruptured Achilles he suffered Thursday. It's not clear how long McKnight will be out beyond Week 4, but he is likely facing an extended absence, depending on the severity of his setback.
Fri Sep 26 201413:04McKnight suffered ruptured Achilles' at practice Thursday
McKnight suffered a ruptured Achilles' at practice Thursday, BJ Kissel of kcchiefs.com reports.
McKnight thus appears headed to IR, with the potential return of De'Anthony Thomas to the Chiefs' Week 4 backfield mix now a matter of added import.
Thu Sep 25 201418:17McKnight (Achilles) limited at practice Thursday
McKnight (Achilles) was limited at practice Thursday, ESPN.com reports.
McKnight recorded 64 receiving yards and two touchdowns in Week 3, but we wouldn't bank on too many games like that from him this season, especially with Jamaal Charles and De'Anthony Thomas candidates to suit up Monday against the Patriots.

McKnight caught six passes (seven targets) for 64 yards and scored twice in Sunday's win at Miami.
McKnight wasn't even a lock to make the team a few weeks ago, but served as Alex Smith's go-to weapon in the passing game Sunday. Of course he only saw the field as much as he did because of Jamaal Charles' absence. Once Charles (ankle) returns to the lineup, expect McKnight to head back to the bench.
Tue Sep 9 201400:27McKnight didn't see field Sunday against Titans
McKnight didn't see the field Sunday against the Titans.
McKnight was thought to be a possible contributor in the return game, but those duties fell to Knile Davis and Cyrus Gray on kickoffs and Frankie Hammond on punts. With five running backs currently on the roster, McKnight is the most expendable of the group, and could eventually be released if the team needs to add depth elsewhere.
Sun Aug 31 201401:20McKnight has made Chiefs' roster as reserve running back
McKnight has made the Chiefs' roster as reserve running back, the Kansas City Star reports.
McKnight will serve as depth for the Chiefs, who surprisingly decided to keep five running backs on the roster. While he will be buried on the offensive depth chart, he may receive a chance to help in the return game, something he was known for when he played with the Jets.

McKnight is battling for the third running back spot on the Chiefs with Cyrus Gray, the Chiefs' official site reports.
McKnight has impressed the coaches in training camp after being signed to a reserve/future contract in the offseason. He appears to have surpassed both Charcandrick West and De'Anthony Thomas in the battle for the third spot, and Thursday's preseason finale will go a long way in determining who nabs the number three spot on the depth chart.
Mon Jul 21 201411:54Joe McKnight starts camp on active/PUP
Chiefs placed RB Joe McKnight (knee) and CB Demarcus Van Dyke (hamstring) on active/PUP.
McKnight is expected to be activated within the next couple weeks, but he'll start off on the wrong foot as he tries to secure a roster spot. The ex-Jet spent last year on the street. The speedy Van Dyke will need to get healthy as he looks for a special teams role.

Sun Jul 20 201416:25Joe McKnight underwent knee scope
Chiefs RB Joe McKnight underwent arthroscopic knee surgery following minicamp.
If you didn't previously know ex-Jet McKnight was on the Chiefs' offseason roster, now you do. We suspect he'll open training camp on the active/PUP list, and be activated a week or two in. McKnight will be battling for a roster spot.

Sat Jan 11 201417:28Joe McKnight resurfaces with Chiefs
Chiefs signed RB/KR Joe McKnight, S Jerron McMillian, OT R.J. Dill and DE Brandon Moore to reserve/future contracts.
McKnight spent 2013 on the street after getting cut loose by the Jets in August. McKnight could get a shot to crack the 53-man roster as a return specialist if the Chiefs fail to re-sign Dexter McCluster. A 2012 fourth-round pick, McMillian was waived by the Packers in early December. He'll fight for a spot on special teams.

Thu Sep 19 201314:07Warrant issued for Joe McKnight's arrest
A warrant has been issued for free agent Joe McKnight's arrest after he failed to appear in court on Monday.
The court date was related to outstanding traffic charges. The whole situation could have been avoided with just a little common sense. McKnight worked out for the Giants last week, but has otherwise received no interest since being cut loose by the Jets.

Fri Aug 30 201317:21Update: McKnight only working out for Packers
FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo reports free agent Joe McKnight has not signed with the Packers and is only working out for the team.
A deal could be forthcoming, but it's not imminent. A previous tweet from McKnight indicated he'd joined the team, and several beat reporters ran with it. Instead, the Packers may be just doing due diligence. Indeed, McKnight could be a good fit for a team in need of a kick returner and change-of-pace back with Randall Cobb nursing an injury and DuJuan Harris on injured reserve.

Fri Aug 30 201316:56Packers sign ex-Jets KR/RB Joe McKnight
Packers signed RB/KR Joe McKnight, formerly of the Jets.
It's another indication of the Packers' disappointment in fourth-round pick Johnathan Franklin. In Green Bay, look for 25-year-old McKnight to take over as the primary kickoff returner and compete to replace DuJuan Harris as the change-of-pace back behind Eddie Lacy. Lacy's every-down back role is not threatened. Although he's capable of helping Green Bay's special teams, McKnight has very little fantasy football appeal with the Packers.

Mon Aug 26 201308:21Jets part ways with reserve RB Joe McKnight
Jets waived RB Joe McKnight.
McKnight entered the summer firmly on the roster bubble, but seemed to be saved by Chris Ivory's injury woes and Mike Goodson's legal troubles. That was not the case, as McKnight barely practiced in camp thanks to injury issues of his own, including a concussion and migraines. McKnight is a solid kick returner, but rushed the ball just 112 times in three years in New York, averaging 4.5 yards per carry. He's had durability issues. His special-teams prowess should land him a new job in relatively short order.

Wed Aug 21 201317:19Joe McKnight admits he had concussion
Joe McKnight admits he was dealing with a concussion earlier in camp, even though the Jets said he wasn't.
Shameful. McKnight had trouble even standing on the practice field last week, but the Jets kept insisting he was dealing with a "head" injury, suggesting a migraine. The degree to which teams continue to try to mask concussions is alarming. As for McKnight, he's apparently healthy now, and will be active for Saturday's regular season dress rehearsal against the Giants.

Tue Aug 13 201314:03McKnight out again with 'head' issue
Jets RB Joe McKnight is sidelined again with a "head" injury.
McKnight is almost certainly concussed, but has dealt with migraines in the past. McKnight was wobbly on the practice field Monday, and had trouble even standing. The Jets would be deserving of a massive fine if McKnight was concussed. For now, he should be considered week to week. McKnight is wounding his roster chances.

Sun Aug 11 201310:25Joe McKnight (concussion) back at practice
Jets RB Joe McKnight (concussion) has resumed practicing.
The Jets never admitted that McKnight was concussed, but all signs suggested he was. He'll make his preseason debut Saturday against the Jaguars.
