Adduci was designated for assignment Thursday.
Adduci was injured much of the 2014 season, playing just 44 games with the Rangers and batting a paltry .168/.228/.467 with one home run and eight RBI over that span. He was a casualty of Thursday's deadline that required teams to add players eligible for the Rule 5 Draft or risk losing them.

Adduci (concussion) has been activated from the 7-day DL and will be available Tuesday against the Astros, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Adduci had been sidelined for the past three weeks with concussion symptoms, but has finally made it through the league's protocol after resuming baseball activities without any setbacks. He'll likely assume a reserve role the rest of the way for the Rangers, who are likely more inclined to take a look at Ryan Rua and Jake Smolinski in the corner outfield at this point.
