Jaguars placed DT Brandon Deaderick on injured reserve with a dislocated elbow, ending his season.
A flurry of I.R. moves will be made this week that are essentially meaningless, as teams out of playoff contention simply use injured reserve as a means of clearing roster spots for youngsters to get on the field in Week 17. To take Deaderick's place on the roster, the Jaguars signed DT Kyle Love.

Sun Jul 24 201109:33Deaderick's roster spot may be in danger
The Boston Globe believes DE Brandon Deaderick's spot on the Patriots' 53-man roster could be "iffy."
A rookie seventh-round pick last season, Deaderick drew a four-day suspension between the end of the regular season and New England's playoff loss to the Jets for a "violation of team policy." He was productive in parts of 10 games, however, notching 10 tackles and two sacks. He'll likely be back.

This is convenient. Deaderick was suspended just four days ago, but the Pats are desperately thin on the defensive line, so he's needed again. The seventh-round rookie out of Alabama probably appreciated the practice time off.
