Ford caught all three of his targets for 24 yards, returned three kickoffs for 75 yards, and gained five more yards on a punt return in Friday's preseason opener against the Falcons.
The Titans kept Ford busy in this one, and it's a good sign that he returned three kickoffs to Tre McBride's one. Tennessee is very deep at the wide receiver position, so Ford's best chance at making the roster is carving out a role as a return specialist.
Thu Jun 11 201506:36Ford will get opportunity to become Tennessee's kick returner
Ford will get an opportunity to become Tennessee's kick returner, The Tennessean reports.
With the Titans moving on from Leon Washington, the kick-return job opens up. Ford, who was not with a team during the regular season in 2014, averages 25 yards per return on 75 opportunities in his career. He's record six returns of longer than 40 yards and posted four touchdowns on returns. He'll compete with running backs Antonio Andrews and Dexter McCluster.
Wed Jan 14 201518:33The Titans have signed Ford to futures contract
The Titans have signed Ford to a futures contract, Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports.
The Titans also signed fellow wideout Clyde Gates, with the duo added to bolster the team's depth at the position in advance of the 2015 season. Ford's last NFL regular season catch occurred in 2013, when he was with the Raiders.
Sun Aug 24 201412:07Ford released by Jets on Sunday
Ford was released by the Jets on Sunday, ESPN New York reports.
Ford failed to emerge as a viable candidate to help the Jets' lackluster receiving unit and will probably now look to highlight his kickoff return ability in hopes of landing elsewhere.
Fri Jul 18 201408:54Jacoby Ford favorite for Jets kick return job
ESPN New York considers Jacoby Ford the favorite for the Jets' kick return job.
Ford ran a blazing 4.22 forty at the Combine in 2010 and scored three touchdowns on returns as a rookie for the Raiders. But it's fair to wonder if the speed is still the same after battling a Lisfranc fracture and other nagging lower-body injuries. If healthy, Ford should have no problem beating out Clyde Gates and rookie Shaq Evans for the gig. He's also in the mix for No. 2 receiver duties.

Wed Jun 11 201413:55Jacoby Ford missing time with foot injury
Jacoby Ford sat out Wednesday's OTA with a foot injury.
It's notable because Ford missed the entire 2012 season with a Lisfranc fracture in his foot, and has been one of the most injury-prone players in the league. He's going to be in the mix for a prominent role in the Jets' wide-open receiving corps behind Eric Decker. Ford can stretch the field, but he needs to stay on it.

Tue Apr 1 201416:45Gang Green signs ex-OAK WR/KR Jacoby Ford
Jets agreed to terms with WR/KR Jacoby Ford, formerly of the Raiders.
Former Raiders owner Al Davis made Ford the No. 108 overall pick of the 2010 draft after he ran a 4.28 40-yard dash, but Ford has proven to be amongst the most injury-prone players in the league. A would-be slot receiver, the 5-foot-9, 190-pound wideout has just 57 career catches, and has missed 28 games over the past three seasons. Ford has as many lifetime lost fumbles (three) as receiving scores, and was barely utilized on returns last season. Still only 27 (in July), Ford is worth a flier, but is far from a guarantee to crack the 53-man roster.

Mon Mar 31 201417:17Free agent Jacoby Ford visits the Jets
Free agent Jacoby Ford visited the Jets on Monday.
Ford was linked to the Jets two weeks ago, but it's his first-known visit. Ford has play-making ability on offense and special teams, but is among the league's most-brittle players. Any deal will include little guaranteed money.

Sat Mar 29 201415:42Panther could show interest in Jacoby Ford
ESPN.com's David Newton believes the Panthers could show interest in free agent WR/KR Jacoby Ford.
Ford could be a fit in the Panthers offense as a replacement for Ted Ginn on kick returns and as a situational deep threat. He's been linked to the Jets this offseason, but has yet to draw any other interest. Ford, 26, should only require a minimum-salary deal.

Mon Mar 17 201411:40Report: Jets show interest in Jacoby Ford
The Jets are reportedly showing interest in free agent WR/KR Jacoby Ford.
There's a connection to Ford in that he played for Jets receivers coach Sanjay Lal in Oakland. Ford is an interesting prospect because he has track star speed and can also be a major asset in the return game. He'd be a nice, cheap flier for a Jets team in desperate need of playmakers.

Sat Mar 8 201414:12Jacoby Ford to hit free agent market
The San Francisco Chronicle confirms free agent WR/KR Jacoby Ford will hit the open market.
The Raiders appear to have little or no interest in re-signing Ford. Ford is somewhat interesting because he's only 26 with playmaking ability on both special teams and offense. He'll be well worthy of a minimum-salary flier.

Sun Dec 29 201315:11Jacoby Ford inactive for season finale
Jacoby Ford is inactive for Week 17 against the Broncos.
Ford is a healthy scratch for the second straight game and likely won't be back with the Raiders as an unrestricted free agent this offseason. CB Tracy Porter (questionable, hip) is active despite being limited in practice this week. The rest of Oakland's inactives are WR Brice Butler, CB Mike Jenkins, RG Lamar Mady, C Andre Gurode, OT Menelik Watson, and DT Ricky Lumpkin.

Mon Oct 7 201304:07Jacoby Ford a non-factor again in Week 5

Sun Sep 29 201320:25Jacoby Ford totals 3 yards in Week 4 loss

Tue Sep 24 201301:20Jacoby Ford catches one pass in Week 3
Jacoby Ford caught just one pass for 15 yards and rushed one time for another four yards in Monday night's Week 3 loss to Denver.
Ford has just four catches for 29 yards through three games as the Raiders' No. 4 receiver. He's well off the fantasy radar, obviously.

Mon Aug 19 201314:27Jacoby Ford resumes practicing
Raiders WR Jacoby Ford (knee) has resumed practicing in training camp.
Ford remains the favorite to open the year as Oakland's No. 3/slot receiver, but still must hold off rookie Brice Butler. Butler did take a step back in the second preseason game after making two big plays in the exhibition opener.

Thu Apr 18 201315:52Raiders' Ford back at 100%
Raiders WR Jacoby Ford (Lisfranc surgery) says his foot is 100 percent healed.
Ford suffered Lisfranc injuries in each of the past two seasons, but finally appears to be 100 percent. The explosive receiver has a career 17.0 YPR average, and anticipates being used on returns this season in addition to being one of the team's top pass catchers. Entering the final year of his rookie contract, it will be important for Ford to show he can remain healthy.

Fri Apr 12 201302:50Raiders WR Jacoby Ford escapes DUI charge
Raiders WR Jacoby Ford was arrested for DUI last month, but the Oakland district attorney has declined to charge him.
Ford was pulled over on March 14 for too-dark window tints and driving 75MPH in a 55MPH zone. Police "noticed the smell of alcohol coming from his car and his breath" when Ford opened his window. The Oakland D.A. provided no reason for dropping the charge other than to confirm it publicly. Ford, 26 in July, is entering the final year of his rookie contract. He missed all of 2012 with a Lisfranc fracture in his left foot. Ford also missed eight games in 2011.
