Sat Sep 5 201512:23Tebow released by Eagles on Saturday
Tebow was released by the Eagles on Saturday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
After trading Matt Barkley to the Cardinals on Friday, the Eagles are apparently set to keep just two quarterbacks, Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez. It'll be surprising if Tebow finds an NFL home before the end of the season, as a role with the Eagles as a two-point/goal-line specialist seemed to be his best hope of sticking on a roster.

Tebow completed 11 of 17 passes for 189 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Thursday's 24-18 loss to the Jets.
Tebow saved his best performance for the most important outing of the preseason. Head coach Chip Kelly made it clear that the third and final quarterback roster spot would likely be decided by the preseason finale, and Tebow made big throws and led scoring drives while fellow quarterback Matt Barkley floundered. It seems that Tebow will make the Eagles' 53-man roster and be on the sideline come Week 1 in Atlanta.

Tebow completed both of his pass attempts for 15 yards and ran for four yards in Saturday's 39-26 win over the Packers.
Tebow's performance was tempered against Green Bay, as he got the ball without much offensive momentum and only saw the final two thirds of the fourth quarter as the starting quarterback. He was unable to move the ball much, or lead a scoring drive, but fellow quarterback Matt Barkley did little to distance himself in the race for the team's third quarterback position. The competition between the two will likely be decided in the final week of the preseason, when the Eagles face the Jets.

Tebow completed 2-of-5 passes for 13 yards and ran three times for 31 yards in Saturday's 40-17 win over the Ravens.
Tebow was once again shaky in the pocket, but that's not where head coach Chip Kelly needs him to be productive. The quarterback was a threat on the ground, tearing off a 26-yard scurry that likely intrigued the Eagles' head coach. With reports of fellow quarterback Matt Barkley being shopped around for potential trades, it seems Tebow could be headed for the 53-man roster on the basis of his versatility.

Tebow went 6-for-12 for 69 yards and ran for a touchdown in Sunday's 36-10 win over the Colts.
It was a dramatic return to the big leagues for Tebow, but in the end, he looked like the same quarterback from two years ago. After a strong first series, he repeatedly held on to the ball too long and was sacked three times. His rushing touchdown was a good display of athleticism, but it was the highlight of his afternoon. Tebow was out-performed by fellow quarterback Matt Barkley, his presumed competition for the third quarterback spot. He will have to look better in the final three preseason games to earn a roster spot.

Tebow's throwing motion doesn't appear to be significantly different, despite reports that it changed after his work with quarterback guru Tom House, according to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
House, a former MLB pitcher, is known for working with some of the NFL's top quarterbacks, although his work with Tebow seems to have garnered the most attention. Tebow is competing with Matt Barkley for the No. 3 quarterback job, and Barkley is currently ahead on the depth chart. There's been some talk that the NFL's new extra-point rules could make Tebow useful as a two-point conversion specialist, but even if Chip Kelly decides to approach the PAT more aggressively, he'd probably prefer to do so with Sam Bradford under center. All in all, Tebow still faces an uphill battle to make the final roster.

Eagles vice president of player personnel Ed Marynowitz suggests that Tebow has improved as a player since his time with the Patriots, ESPN.com reports. "We had exposure to him live when he was with New England, when they practiced here," Marynowitz noted Thursday. "When we worked him out, we saw a great deal of improvement with him."
That's not to suggest that Tebow is a lock to make an impact with the Eagles, but he is slated to compete for a spot on the team's QB depth chart and any improvement in his throwing technique would obviously help him in that regard. Moreover, the report suggests that it's possible that if Tebow sticks with the Eagles, he could emerge as something of a two-point conversion specialist for the team down the road.
Sun Apr 19 201519:02Tebow has agreed to terms with Eagles
Tebow has agreed to terms with the Eagles, according to ESPN.com.
Tebow joins an Eagles QB corps that currently includes Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez, Matt Barkley and G.J. Kinne, so his roster spot is hardly guaranteed and his role with the team, should he make the cut, is far from clarified at this stage. As a result, Tebow has a way to go before re-entering the fantasy lineup conversation.
Mon Jun 2 201415:50Tebow 'still has hopes' of returning to NFL
Free agent Tim Tebow "still has hopes" of returning to the NFL.
"I'm training every day and feel like I'm the best that I've ever been," Tebow said. "I still love it, love playing, talking about it, and I'm just excited about whatever the future holds." Tebow's future is with ESPN's SEC Network, which is launching in August. Even if teams thought Tebow could improve their roster, he's unlikely to ever be signed again because of the media circus that always accompanies.

Mon Mar 24 201417:30Urban Meyer: Tebow still hoping for NFL shot
Ohio State coach Urban Meyer told CBS Sports that ESPN analyst Tim Tebow is still "hoping" for one last shot in the NFL.
Meyer, of course, coached Tebow at Florida. "Works every day. He's hoping," Meyer said of Tebow. "There are some conversations about it. I don't know too much. There's hope and he says there's stuff going on." Tebow accepted a position with ESPN's SEC Network last December. He turns 27 this August.

Fri Jan 17 201414:05Tannenbaum: Tebow trade was biggest mistake
Ex-Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum said the Tim Tebow trade was his biggest mistake in New York.
"Obviously we made a couple mistakes -- trading for Tim Tebow most notably," Tannenbaum told CBS Radio. It's hard to argue with Tannenbaum, who now works for NFL Network and Yahoo! Sports and also has dipped his toes in the agency business. The other colossal blunder from Tannenbaum was handing Mark Sanchez a five-year, $58.25 million extension in the same offseason.

Mon Dec 30 201316:14Tim Tebow accepts job with new 'SEC Network'
Former NFL QB Tim Tebow has accepted a job with ESPN for its SEC Network.
The SEC Network launches in August. Tebow hasn't given up his NFL quarterbacking dream, but teams around the league have. "I am so excited that ESPN has given me this incredible opportunity," Tebow tweeted Monday. "When I was six years old I fell in love with the game of football, and while I continue to pursue my dream of playing quarterback in the NFL, this is an amazing opportunity to be a part of the unparalleled passion of college football and the SEC."

Fri Dec 6 201311:36Italian football team offers Tebow contract
Free agent Tim Tebow has been offered a four-month, $200,000 contract by the Milano Seamen of the Italian federation for American football.
"The offer has been made to his agent and now we're waiting for a response," Seamen president Marco Mutti said. "We would be more than happy to have him." The chances of Tebow accepting the offer are around zero. Tebow has said numerous times that he's only interested in playing football in the NFL.

Mon Oct 21 201308:52Tim Tebow to Rams isn't happening
The Post-Dispatch confirms that free agent QB Tim Tebow "is not coming to St. Louis."
The NFL.com report that said the Rams were having discussions regarding Tebow following Sam Bradford's ACL tear has now been debunked by numerous outlets. If the Rams did think about adding the Tebow circus, they've quickly changed their mind. Expect another quarterback to be added to the roster as a backup to Kellen Clemens. Tebow has been on the street since the Patriots released him just before Week 1.

Sun Oct 20 201322:22Report: Rams not considering Tim Tebow
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora disputes reports the Rams are weighing signing free agent Tim Tebow.
Per La Canfora, the Rams "have no desire" to sign Tebow, and "are not mulling it." NFL.com's Mike Silver reported earlier Sunday the Rams had at least internally discussed the idea, and there have been rumors of St. Louis' interest in the past. The Rams currently fear Sam Bradford tore his left ACL in Sunday's loss to the Panthers. Their only other QB is Kellen Clemens.

Sun Oct 20 201320:26Report: Rams discuss signing Tim Tebow as QB
According to NFL.com's Mike Silver, the Rams have at least internally discussed the possibility of signing free agent QB Tim Tebow.
This isn't the first time we've heard of a link between the Rams and Tebow. And now that Sam Bradford (knee) is down for possibly a significant amount of time, the rumors are heating back up. The only other quarterback on the Rams' roster is Kellen Clemens, someone Tebow could conceivably start over. Silver said Sunday night that he doesn't expect a signing to happen, but it's a story to monitor for more than just a tabloid story. Tebow's legs make him a better fantasy quarterback than real-life signal-caller.

Thu Sep 5 201319:55Report: Tim Tebow still won't change position
SI's Peter King reported on NBC's 2013 NFL Kickoff that free agent Tim Tebow received an "inquiry" from an undisclosed team this week about playing a position other than quarterback.
He turned it down. Per King, Tebow "wants to keep the NFL dream alive," but only as a quarterback. We firmly believe he exhausted all NFL quarterback opportunities when the Patriots dumped Tebow at final cuts. Somewhat interestingly, King reported USA Rugby approached Tebow about changing sports. Again, no dice. There is no question Tebow would be given another shot were he willing to try tight end or H-back. He is simply not open to it.

Mon Sep 2 201311:16Tim Tebow has not been in contact with CFL
Free agent Tim Tebow has not been in contact with the CFL.
The Montreal Alouettes hold Tebow's CFL rights. "Really nothing to discuss unless he came to the CFL," said GM Jim Popp. "Have never had a conversation with him or his agent." Tebow has never shown any interest in proving he can play the quarterback position by earning a starting job up north. Perhaps he'll change his mind if he remains without a job for the entire 2013 season.

Sun Sep 1 201317:07No team claims Tim Tebow on waivers
Tim Tebow has cleared waivers and is now a free agent.
Having likely exhausted his final shot with old pal Josh McDaniels, Tebow's NFL future looks bleaker than ever. He turned 26 years old last month. To get another chance, Tebow is going to have to be amenable to a position change.

Sun Sep 1 201312:06Report: Bills have 'zero interest' in Tebow
WGR 550 Buffalo reports the Bills have "zero interest" in free agent Tim Tebow.
The Tebow-Bills connection made some sense. Buffalo only has two quarterbacks on the roster -- both are rookies and one is injured -- and the Bills play the Patriots in Week 1. Tebow is subject to waivers. CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora confirms the Bills haven't placed a claim on either Tebow or injured ex-Jets QB Greg McElroy. Buffalo will likely add a quarterback somehow.
