Tue Jul 17 201215:15Bears sign veteran RB Lorenzo Booker
Bears signed RB Lorenzo Booker and waived RB Alvester Alexander.
After contributing down the stretch as a kickoff returner with the Vikings in 2010, Booker was a disaster last season, fumbling three times on 21 offensive touches. The 28-year-old passing down specialist will likely push Armando Allen for the fourth running back spot. Alexander was undrafted out of Wyoming.

Tue Mar 13 201212:27Vikings will not tender RB Booker
Vikings will not tender restricted free agent RB/KR Lorenzo Booker.
The coaching staff lost faith in Booker last season after three fumbles on just 21 offensive touches. Marcus Sherels should take over as the primary kickoff returner with Percy Harvin's offensive snaps due to increase.

Tue Nov 22 201109:32Lorenzo Booker barely plays for Vikings
Lorenzo Booker played just two snaps in last week's loss to the Raiders despite Adrian Peterson's first-half injury.
The Vikings clearly don't trust Booker. Toby Gerhart racked up 39 snaps last week and Percy Harvin will be used as his change-of-pace back while Peterson is sidelined.

Sun Aug 28 201120:02Lorenzo Booker dealing with disc problem
Vikings RB/KR Lorenzo Booker was diagnosed with a minor disc problem in his back.
The Vikes originally feared worse after Booker collapsed without contact while running a route in Saturday's game. He's expected to be back for the season opener, but it's fair to wonder if the condition will worsen during the season. With Toby Gerhart (Achilles) also banged up, Adrian Peterson may be forced into a bigger role on passing downs this year.

Mon Mar 21 201118:07Vikings may use Booker on kickoff returns
Coach Leslie Frazier is considering using Lorenzo Booker as the Vikings' full-time kick returner in 2011.
He'd be getting the nod over Percy Harvin. If the Competition Committee's special teams proposals are agreed upon, however, kick returners will have much less value not only in real life, but in return-yardage leagues as well. Touchbacks will be easier to come by. Booker appeared in four games last season, averaging 23.8 yards per kick return compared to Harvin's 23.3.
