Ridley (knee) was transferred to the regular-season PUP list Saturday, Manish Mehta of the NY Daily News reports.

As expected, Ridley will be ineligible for the first six games of the season, after tearing the ACL and MCL in his right knee in October. If Chris Ivory is still healthy when Ridley returns, it's possible the former Patriot will only have a minimal role. However, Ridley could have a sizable role -- perhaps even the starting job -- if Ivory isn't healthy. It's not enough to warrant consideration in most leagues, but Ridley's a reasonable late-round stash in deep formats.

Ridley (knee) is still on the physically unable to perform list, and head coach Todd Bowles indicated that's likely where Ridley will start the season, NJ.com reports.

Bowles stated that the team's running backs are playing well right now, so Ridley will be able to take his time and get fully healthy. Once he has some practice time in pads, the team will evaluate at which point he's ready to be placed on the active roster. Even then, it's uncertain as to what his role on the team will be.

Jets reporter Rich Cimini speculates that Ridley (knee) will open the season on the reserve/PUP list,ESPN reports.

Ridley was an off-season free-agent signing, coming off ACL surgery. Since he's yet to practice this preseason, it's not a major reach to come to this conclusion. While he recovers, Zac Stacy has a great opportunity to capture a roster spot.

It's unclear when Ridley, who tore his ACL and MCL while with the Patriots last season, will be turned loose by the Jets, but down the road he figures to mount a challenge for playing time in a New York backfield that also rosters Chris Ivory, Bilal Powell, Zac Stacy and Daryl Richardson.

Ridley is working his way back from a torn ACL suffered last October, which precluded him from any 11-on-11 work during OTAs and minicamp. While Ridley continues to target a return to full health by Week 1, it's unclear how far along he'll be when training camp begins next month. However, with running backs like Chris Ivory, Bilal Powell, Daryl Richardson and Zac Stacy on the roster, the Jets aren't forced to rush their offseason signing Ridley back into action, thus allowing him time to ensure he's 100 percent before eventually returning.

Ridley (knee) took part in positional drills during the Jets' OTAs Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports.

Ridley was reportedly moving well Wednesday, which is certainly a positive sign for a player coming off knee surgery. He remains on track to be ready to go when training camp begins in July.

ESPN.com's Rich Cimini relays that barring any setbacks, Ridley (knee) is expected to be ready when training camp opens.

Ridley, who signed a one-year deal with the Jets, tore his ACL while with the Patriots back on Oct. 12. Once he re-proves his health, look for him to jostle with Bilal Powell for work in the Jets' backfield along with projected starter Chris Ivory.

Ridley had already met with the Dolphins and Redskins this offseason, but New York will be his final landing spot. The 26-year-old back played just six games in 2014 before suffering a season-ending ACL injury, but had collected a career-low 3.6 yards per carry over that span. Ridley will have to earn his role during camp, competing with the likes of Chris Ivory and Bilial Powell for reps in the backfield.

Ridley, who previously visited the Dolphins and Jets, is meeting with the Redskins on Tuesday, ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss reports.

Washington would be one of the worst places for Ridley to establish any kind of value, given that the Redskins already have an early-down workhorse in Alfred Morris. While the team does figure to pursue another running back through free agency and/or the draft, it would be surprising if they devote significant resources to a player who doesn't offer much in the passing game. Should he ultimately sign in Washington, Ridley would probably just be a handcuff for Morris in most league.

Ridley (knee), who visited the Dolphins earlier this week, is slated to meet with the Jets on Thursday, the Patriots' official site reports.

Meawhile, the Boston Herald relays that Ridley, who is still recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered in Week 6 this past season, has received interest from other (unnamed) teams, while suggesting that a return to the Patriots can't be ruled out, either.

Ridley still hasn't been given medical clearance following ACL surgery so a contract offer is unlikely but the Dolphins nonetheless are doing their due diligence on a running back that has talent. Ridley could help someone this season although Miami may not be a fit with Lamar Miller already entrenched as the starting back.

While Bolden's size (5-11, 220) would suggest that he is most suited to do the heavy lifting in Ridley's absence, we suspect that the team could elect to employ more of a committee approach to fill the void, starting with Thursday's game against the Jets.

There are fears that Ridley, who will have an MRI on his knee Monday, may have torn his ACL, NFL Network's Albert Breer reports.

Though fellow RB Shane Vereen is unlikely to be available in most leagues, Ridley owners scrambling for a replacement may want to look into securing Brandon Bolden and/or James White.

Ridley was in significant pain before eventually being helped off by two trainers. No word yet on the severity of the injury, but if Ridley is done for the day, he finishes with just 29 total yards on 11 touches (10 carries, one catch).
