Kerley had six catches on 11 targets for 33 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Eagles.
Kerley played only one offensive snap in both of the first two weeks of the season, but he got a significant increase in playing time Sunday with Eric Decker (knee) and Chris Owusu (knee) out. Kerley has always been a solid possession receiver and it was a bit odd that he had fallen so far down the depth chart after signing a new contract this past offseason. Decker could return in Week 4 against the Dolphins in London, which cwuld push Kerley back to the sidelines.
Wed Sep 23 201518:33Kerley could see increased snaps Sunday against Philadelphia
Kerley could see increased snaps Sunday against Philadelphia, ESPN.com reports.
With Chris Owusu (leg) out and Eric Decker (knee) iffy for Week 3, Kerley may finally get into the wide receiver rotation. During Wednesday's practice, he spent time both on the outside and in the slot, as offensive coordinator Chan Gailey typically expects his receivers to move around the formation. Kerley may also be competing for playing time with Devin Smith(ribs), who is probable this week.
Sun Sep 13 201517:22Kerley returned two punts for 13 yards Sunday against Browns
Kerley returned two punts for 13 yards Sunday against the Browns.
Kerley wasn't part of the regular wide receiver rotation, but with the Jets winning easily, they didn't need to go to multiple receiver sets often in the second half. He was simply a very expensive punt returner in this game.
Sun Sep 13 201511:45Kerley (concussion) active Sunday against Browns
Kerley (concussion) is active Sunday against the Browns.
Kerley practiced fully all week, but he mostly played with the second-team offense during training camp and the preseason, leaving him firmly behind Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall on the depth chart. Devin Smith (ribs) is inactive, so Kerley could get some looks as the No. 3 receiver, though the Jets are expected to focus heavily on the run.
Fri Sep 11 201516:32Kerley (concussion) put in third straight full practice Friday
Kerley (concussion) put in his third straight full practice Friday, the team's website reports.
It's almost a lock that Kerley will be active Sunday against the Browns, but after playing mostly with the second-team offense during the preseason, it's possible he'll be used as a situational receiver.
Wed Sep 9 201519:32Kerley (concussion) practiced fully on Wednesday
Kerley (concussion) practiced fully on Wednesday, Mary Kay Cabot of the Plain Dealer reports.
Kerley's expected to play Sunday against the Browns. His role in the game is unclear, though he primarily played with the second-team wide receivers in the preseason.
Tue Sep 8 201517:32Kerley (concussion) expected to play in Week 1
Kerley (concussion) is expected to play in Week 1, the New York Daily News reports.
Kerley was running with the second-team wide receivers in the preseason, and it's not clear how the coaching staff will use him as the season begins. Although he did return kicks in the preseason, new head coach Todd Bowles said that Chris Owusu, Zac Stacy or Bilal Powell will return kicks Sunday, so it appears that Kerley won't be used in that capacity.

Kerley, who is recovering from a concussion, is not slated to play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Eagles, ESPN's Rich Cimini reports.
The report notes that it would be a surprise if Kerley ended up being cut by the Jets, but does suggest that how the likes of Quincy Eunuwa, Chris Owusu and Shaquelle Evans perform Thursday figures to shape the team's roster decisions at wideout.
Mon Aug 31 201518:48Kerley (concussion) did some light running Monday
Kerley (concussion) did some light running Monday, but is still in the NFL's post-concussion assessment protocol. He expects to be ready for week 1, NJ.com reports.
Although Kerley expects to be ready for the regular season, it's unclear as to what type of role he'll actually play upon his return. He was frequently playing with the second-team offense throughout the preseason, and he was also used as a kick returner.
Sun Aug 30 201514:53Kerley (concussion) missed Saturday's game against Giants
Kerley (concussion) missed Saturday's game against the Giants.
Kerley has been locked in a battle to be the Jets' slot receiver, but he hasn't had a very impressive preseason. He's owed significant guaranteed money this season, so he has a solid chance of holding onto his roster spot. His role, however, is far from settled.

Kerley (concussion) is expected to miss Saturday's game against the Giants, the team's website reports.
Kerley is in a battle to hold onto the role he held last year as the Jets' third receiver, but his absence certainly won't help his cause. In the previous preseason games, he's seen most of his reps with the second-team offense. Although he's competing with multiple players for a prominent role, Quincy Enunwa has been getting the most preseason playing time with the first-team offense.
Wed Aug 26 201514:42Kerley (concussion) not spotted at practice Wednesday
Kerley (concussion) was not spotted at practice Wednesday, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini.
Kerley suffered a concussion in this past Friday's preseason game against Atlanta, and his absence from practice Wednesday suggests that his availability for Saturday's contest against the Giants is cloudy.

Kerley suffered a concussion in Friday's preseason game against Atlanta, ESPN reports.
Kerley had two receptions for 38 yards before departing. It's not clear how long he'll be out.
Mon Aug 17 201517:30Kerley fighting for Jets' starting slot receiver role
Kerley is fighting for the Jets' starting slot receiver role, the New York Daily News reports.
Kerley has been splitting first team reps in practice with Quincy Enunwa, and new head coach Todd Bowles confirmed that there is a competition, though Kerley currently holds a slight edge. The slot position for the Jets may not exactly be a fantasy bonanza this year, as they could be a run-heavy team. In addition, the team has Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker, who could easily gobble up a solid portion of the pass targets. Kerley's coming off a disappointing season in which he averaged a career-low 10.8 yards per reception while scoring just one touchdown.

Jeremy Kerley is considered the No. 1 slot receiver according to new head coach Todd Bowles, ESPN.com reports.
Despite playing with the second-team offense in both preseason practices and the first preseason game, actions and words from the head coach don't seem to be matching up here. The team has a significant financial investment in him, as he signed a four-year $14 million extension last year. His usage in upcoming preseason games will provide a better picture of what to expect this year.
Sat Aug 15 201513:32Kerley played with second-team offense Thursday against Lions
Kerley played with the second-team offense Thursday against the Lions.
Kerley has also been practicing with the second-team, so him not starting the game wasn't a big surprise. He also was used as a kick returner in the game, so it's possible he has a role as a special teams player this season. While he was on the sidelines, Quincy Enunwa started as the Jets' slot receiver. Injured rookie Devin Smith (ribs) is also competing for the slot role.
Mon Aug 10 201517:50Kerley could have competition for third wide receiver role
Kerley could have competition for the third wide receiver role, ESPN.com reports.
Kerley is currently the front-runner, but Quincy Enunwa, who has been impressive in camp, could get first team reps this week. Rookie Devin Smith, along with three other injured receivers, are also considered to be in the mix.

Kerley appears on track to be the Jets' primary slot receiver to start the coming season, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini.
Newcomer Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker are in line to work the starting outside spots for the team, with rookie speedster Devin Smith on hand to provide depth both inside and outside. Whether Geno Smith or Ryan Fitzpatrick ends up starting at QB for the Jets, Kerley -- who caught 38 passes for 409 yards and a TD in 2014 -- is only worthy of fantasy consideration in deeper PPR formats.

Kerley finished 2014 with 38 catches, 409 yards and one touchdown. He was targeted 75 times.
He lost about 40 percent of his fantasy value from the previous season, despite a similar number of targets. Kerley is a respectable No. 3 or No. 4 receiver, but he hasn't shown much upside during his four-year career.

Kerley had three catches on six targets for 54 yards Sunday against the Patriots.
The Jets' offense, particularly the passing game, struggled again, as quarterback Geno Smith threw for only 210 yards. Kerley actually led the team in targets and receiving yards, a fairly direct result of Percy Harvin being unable to play in the second half because of a rib injury. If Harvin is unable to play in Week 17 against the Dolphins, Kerley could get the start opposite Eric Decker, but the fantasy upside is limited against a defense allowing the third-fewest passing yards per game this season.
