Sat Aug 17 201313:18Browns RG Pinkston (ankle) out 4-6 weeks
Browns RG Jason Pinkston (high-ankle sprain) will be sidelined 4-6 weeks.
Pinkston's initial recovery timetable was set at 2-4 weeks, but it appears he could be in danger of missing the first month of the regular season. Seventh-rounder Garrett Gilkey will start in his place for the time being, but the Browns may opt to scour the waiver-wire once teams start trimming rosters.

Fri Aug 16 201316:19Pinkston will miss regular season time
Browns coach Rob Chudzinski acknowledged RG Jason Pinkston's high right ankle sprain will "probably" extend into the regular season.
Once one of the NFL's better-off teams at guard, Cleveland is now perilously thin with Pinkston and Shawn Lauvauo (ankle surgery) both on the shelf. The Browns may begin searching the free agent market, with only raw late-round rookie Garrett Gilkey left as the best option to play opposite LG John Greco.

Fri Aug 16 201310:10Jason Pinkston questionable for Week 1
Browns RG Jason Pinkston (high-ankle sprain) will miss the rest of the preseason, and is questionable for Week 1.
X-rays revealed no ligament damage, so things could have been worse. Pinkston's timeline is officially 2-4 weeks. With Week 1 just 23 days away, that makes Pinkston very dicey for the opener, but the Browns have incentive to rush him with seventh-rounder Garrett Gilkey the starter in his absence. We'd guess Pinkston plays against the Dolphins.

Mon Oct 22 201217:26Browns place Jason Pinkston on I.R.
Browns placed LG Jason Pinkston on injured reserve with a blood clot in his lung, ending Pinkston's season.
It's a tough break for Pinkston, who was off to a terrific start this season after struggling in his rookie year. The Browns do have an effective run-blocking replacement in John Greco, but they may not be able to afford to lose any more offensive line starters without experiencing a dramatic drop-off. Pinkston is under contract for $550K in 2013 and should return as a starter.

Fri Oct 19 201213:21Browns lose LG Pinkston indefinitely
Browns LG Jason Pinkston has been diagnosed with a blood clot and is out indefinitely.
He's currently in the hospital and will be replaced by John Greco against the Colts. Greco is a formidable run blocker, so the drop-off won't be a back breaker for Trent Richardson's Week 7 outlook. Pinkston, a second-year player, has graded out as a top-25 overall guard through six games, per Pro Football Focus.

Sun Aug 5 201222:56Joe Thomas: Pinkston will be 'great player'
Browns LT Joe Thomas believes second-year LG Jason Pinkston is capable of becoming a "great player."
Pinkston struggled while converting from college tackle to NFL guard as a rookie without an offseason, but he is a brawling mauler on the interior with a big upside. "I think he's gonna be one of the top guards in the league," Thomas said. "He's made a big jump already from where he was last year, and he's gonna be a great player on this line for a lot of years." The Browns' promising, power-blocking line is one big plus for rookie back Trent Richardson.
