Steelers RB Baron Batch broke his right arm during Sunday's Week 16 loss to the Bengals.

Sun Nov 18 201222:58Baron Batch leaves with left foot injury
Baron Batch was forced from Pittsburgh's Week 11 game against the Ravens with a left foot injury, and is questionable to return.
Batch was pressed into duty after Ike Redman departed with a concussion. He rushed once for three yards, converting a 3rd-and-1. If neither Batch nor Redman is able to go for Week 11, the Steelers could be forced to sign a running back behind Rashard Mendenhall and Jonathan Dwyer.

Sun Nov 4 201220:26Baron Batch touches the ball twice in win
Baron Batch carried the ball just twice for seven yards in Pittsburgh's Week 9 win over the Giants.
He wasn't targeted in the passing game. This, despite the fact that both Jonathan Dwyer and Rashard Mendenhall were out with injury. With Isaac Redman going off for 147 yards on 26 carries, Batch won't be on the Week 10 radar even if Dwyer and Mendenhall both remain sidelined.

Sun Oct 21 201223:49Baron Batch gets 2 carries in Week 7
Steelers RB Baron Batch rushed just twice for four yards in Sunday night's Week 7 win over the Bengals.
Batch's highlight of the night was a dropped pass on a receiver flea-flicker pass by Antonio Brown that was well placed and would have gone for a long touchdown had Batch secured the ball over his shoulder. Waiver-wire material in fantasy leagues, Batch is clearly behind Rashard Mendenhall, Isaac Redman, and Jonathan Dwyer on the depth chart, and probably rookie Chris Rainey, too.

Fri Oct 12 201201:15Batch leads injury-marred PIT backfield
Baron Batch rushed for 22 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries in Week 6 against the Titans.
After Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles') and Isaac Redman (knee) left the game, Batch became the lead back with Chris Rainey coming in on some third downs. The second-year back out of Texas Tech appears to be ahead of Jonathan Dwyer, who was a healthy scratch on Thursday. The Steelers have 10 days before they take on Cincinnati in Week 7, but if Mendenhall and Redman are forced to miss time, Batch could draw the start.

Steelers RB Baron Batch is practicing fully in training camp after missing his rookie season with a torn ACL.
A third-down back prospect, Batch is competing for a roster spot behind Isaac Redman, Jonathan Dwyer, and John Clay. Coach Mike Tomlin likes what he's seen so far. "I like the fact that there was no hesitation in his play," said Tomlin after watching Batch on the practice field. "For a guy that's coming off a knee injury, I thought he moved with authority and trusted his knee."

Steelers RB Baron Batch (ACL surgery) is participating in OTAs.
Per the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Batch "is expected to be fully healthy" after sitting out rookie minicamp in early May. A 2011 seventh-round pick, Batch's 2012 outlook is gloomier coming off the knee reconstruction. The third-down back candidate will be battling for a roster spot in training camp.

Fri May 4 201209:09Steelers RB Batch not ready for practice
Steelers RB Baron Batch (ACL surgery) will not practice with rookies and first-year players at minicamp on Friday.
Now nine months removed from surgery, Batch is eligible to practice but is apparently not ready to do so. It's possible the 2011 seventh-rounder suffered a recent setback, as he indicated in late March that he was cleared for all offseason workouts.

Mon Mar 26 201219:27Steelers RB Batch medically cleared
Steelers RB Baron Batch is done with his ACL rehab and has been cleared for all offseason workouts.
It's been just over seven months since Batch tore his ACL in a preseason practice. The Steelers liked his potential as a third-down back coming out of Texas Tech last year, and he'll compete for that role until Rashard Mendenhall gets over his own torn knee ligament. Batch probably won't get on the fantasy radar.

Tue Feb 14 201216:22Baron Batch doing 'excellent' in recovery
From everything he hears on Steelers RB Baron Batch's recovery from August ACL surgery, beat writer Ed Bouchette suggests the 2011 seventh-rounder is doing "excellent."
This is our first Batch update since he tore his ACL two weeks into an impressive training camp. With a full year to recover, Batch would ideally overtake Mewelde Moore for passing down duties at some point in the 2012 season.

Thu Aug 11 201100:24Steelers lose rookie Baron Batch to torn ACL
Steelers rookie RB Baron Batch confirmed on his personal blog Wednesday night that he's done for the year with a torn ACL.
The Steelers will be O.K. with Mewelde Moore and Isaac Redman behind Rashard Mendenhall, but it's an awfully disappointing injury for a rookie who'd come on quickly as a potential third-down back in his first season. Batch will undergo reconstructive surgery, clouding the NFL future for a seventh-round pick.

Tue Aug 9 201120:02Rookie RB Baron Batch impressing
NFL.com's Pat Kirwin labels Steelers rookie RB Baron Batch perhaps the most impressive player he's seen in a training camp tour "in terms of toughness."
Batch has been excellent in pass protection, also showing nice hands, strong leg drive, and impressive cutback ability. Mewelde Moore remains the favorite for third-down duties, but Batch could push him out of a job as the season goes along. He's a great kid, too.
