Sun Feb 24 201316:16Nagy, Austin figure into Detroit's plans
According to the Detroit Free Press, the Lions have "high hopes" for interior linemen Bill Nagy and Rodney Austin.
Per beat writer Dave Birkett, "both figure into the Lions' offensive line mix for next season." Detroit has an opening at right guard, and could eventually have a vacancy at center if Dominic Raiola and his non-guaranteed salary are cut loose. A third-year pro, ankle injuries have helped limit Nagy to just four career appearances. An undrafted free agent out of small-school Elon, Austin has never appeared in a game. The Lions will be on the lookout for interior linemen in the draft and free agency.

Lions G/C Bill Nagy (ankle surgery, I.R.) is out of his cast and participating in team meetings.
Nagy was stashed on injured reserve after undergoing surgery to repair a high-ankle sprain in late August. The Lions like his versatility on the interior. "He's a very interesting player," coach Jim Schwartz said. "I think that he has a future for sure with us."

Tue Aug 7 201220:21Nagy, Kowalski won't be ready for Week 1
The Cowboys aren't expecting either G/C Bill Nagy (high-ankle sprain) or C Kevin Kowalski (undisclosed) to be ready for Week 1.
It means the Cowboys have precious little camp competition for shaky starter Phil Costa. For now, Costa will compete with David Arkin and undrafted free agent Harland Gunn, but executive VP Stephen Jones hasn't ruled out signing a veteran free agent. Center is a glaring weakness for Big D.

Sun Sep 18 201108:21Cowboys LG Bill Nagy out w/ neck injury
According to FOX Sports' John Czarnecki, Cowboys LG Bill Nagy (doubtful) has been ruled out for Week 2 with a neck injury.
A seventh-round rookie, Nagy drew the start in Week 1 against the Jets and graded out as ProFootballFocus' worst run-blocking guard. Derrick Dockery will enter the starting lineup in Nagy's place, and will likely hold down the job for the foreseeable future. He'll almost certainly be an upgrade over the overmatched rookie.

Sun Sep 4 201120:58Rookie Nagy wins left guard job
Seventh-round rookie Bill Nagy has won the Cowboys' left guard job.
Nagy was considered a top line prospect after his junior season, but lost his starting job as a senior after getting injured in a moped accident. While fourth-rounder David Arkin has a higher ceiling, the Cowboys believe Nagy is better prepared to play as a rookie due to his experience, intelligence, and ability to recover quickly when he makes a mistake.

Cowboys signed No. 252 overall pick C/G Bill Nagy to a four-year contract.
Nagy was a coaches' favorite jack-of-all-trades Wisconsin, seeing time along the offensive line in addition to tight end. A borderline NFL athlete, he figures to spend his rookie season on the practice squad.
