Fri May 10 201323:50Enright hit hard by White Sox in spot start
Barry Enright, making a spot start in place of Tommy Hanson, was hit hard in a no-decision against the White Sox on Friday, allowing five runs on four hits over 3 1/3 innings.
Enright walked two and struck out two in the game. After allowing a leadoff home run to Alejandro De Aza, he settled in nicely and was staked to a 5-1 lead entering the fourth inning. That's when the wheels fell off though, and the White Sox struck for four runs to even the score and chase Enright from the game. He'll now head back to the bullpen and remain irrelevant in most fantasy leagues.

Enright will return to the major league mound on Tuesday against the Brewers, hoping to enjoy a bit more success than he did earlier this year. The 25-year-old right-hander opened the 2011 season in Arizona's starting rotation but posted a 6.49 ERA and 19/15 K/BB ratio in his first six starts.

Fri Jul 15 201118:47Enright to start Tuesday against Brewers
The Diamondbacks are expected to recall right-hander Barry Enright from Triple-A Reno to start Tuesday against the Brewers.
He'll replace Zach Duke in the starting rotation. Enright was a pleasant surprise during the second half last season, but was sent down to the minors in early May after posting a 6.49 ERA and 19/15 K/BB ratio over his first six starts this season. He shouldn't be trusted in most fantasy formats.

Thu May 5 201100:41Barry Enright falls to 1-3 for Diamondbacks
Barry Enright was tagged for six runs in five innings Wednesday in a loss to the Rockies.
Enright helped his cause by hitting his first career homer, but it wasn't nearly enough. In his defense, he could have been out of the fourth without a run scoring had Justin Upton not misplayed an Ian Stewart RBI double. That was follwed by Chris Iannetta's scorching liner off the left-field foul pole for a two-run homer. On the other hand, Stewart's double really should have only been the second out of the inning, as a Troy Tulowitzki double earlier in the frame was ruled a foul ball by third-base ump Kerwin Danley. Enright is now 1-3 with a 6.39 ERA.

Fri Apr 29 201100:51D'Backs' Enright earns first victory
Barry Enright notched his first win in 10 starts after allowing two runs in 6 2/3 innings on Thursday.
He better have won tonight, as the Diamondbacks scored seven times in the first and three more over the next two frames. Enright lost his last five starts in 2010 and was 0-2 with a 6.65 ERA in four starts to begin this year. His rotation spot would have been in serious jeopardy if not for the bounce-back performance.

Sat Apr 23 201117:20Enright hammered in loss to Mets
Barry Enright gave up five runs over 5 2/3 innings Saturday in a loss to the Mets.
Enright wasn't fooling anyone. He surrendered a career-high 12 hits -- including two homers -- while walking one and striking out two. The 25-year-old right-hander now has an ugly 7.08 ERA over his first four starts this season. Enright enjoyed some success as a rookie last year, but there's just not a lot to get excited about here for fantasy owners.

Sun Apr 17 201121:03Enright yields four in 5 1/3
Barry Enright yielded four earned runs over 5 1/3 innings as part of a no-decision against the Giants Sunday.
Enright struck out five, walked two and gave up four hits. He was very sharp early, only giving up a solo jack to Aubrey Huff in the fourth. But in the sixth, catcher Miguel Montero took a foul ball to the groin and needed a long delay. From their Enright unraveled. The 2007 second-round pick remains an interesting NL-only sleeper.

Tue Apr 12 201100:49Enright struggles in loss to St. Louis
Barry Enright allowed nine hits and four runs in six innings on Monday, taking the loss in Arizona's setback against the Cardinals.
He struck out four and walked one. Enright's ERA through his first two starts now rests at 6.00, while his WHIP is 1.67. Those numbers should obviously improve, but Enright overachieved in posting a 3.91 ERA and 1.27 WHIP last season. He's a solid NL-only league option, but the jury is very much still out on his mixed-league viability.

Tue Apr 5 201117:44D'Backs' Enright allows four runs
Barry Enright gave up four runs in six innings Tuesday in a no-decision versus the Cubs.
Enright was let off the hook when the Diamondbacks scored three times in the top of the seventh, making it a 4-4 game, but Arizona still ended up losing. Enright is probably always going to give up too many homers to survive as anything more than a fifth starter. He's not recommended in NL-only leagues.
