Ingram is off to a great start in camp and recorded two sacks in the first half of Saturday night's exhibition win over the Cardinals.
Ingram, who has missed 19 games over the past two years, is reportedly in great shape heading into the regular season, and he hopes to be much more durable this year. Getting two sacks is a great indication of how he is feeling as the preseason rolls on.
Tue May 26 201509:35Ingram enters OTAs at 246 pounds
Ingram enters OTAs at 246 pounds, after losing 20 pounds during the offseason, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
While Ingram never appeared to be out of shape, he's played just 13 games over the last two seasons, and he believes losing weight could help him stay healthy. He's now somewhat on the small side for a 3-4 outside linebacker, but that won't necessarily be an issue when it comes to rushing the passer. The 26-year-old former first-round draft pick had four sacks in nine games last season, finally showing some of the potential that warranted such a high selection. While it's always wise to be wary of the "best shape of his life" stories, Ingram has the right combination of talent, role and health to break out in his fourth season.

The Chargers say Ingram has come to camp in incredible shape and looks impressive in early workouts, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
The Bolts are counting on a healthy and productive Ingram to give them a much needed boost in their pass rush. Ingram is now 24 months removed from ACL reconstruction surgery and is said to be back to peak form finally. The hip injury that cost him two months in 2014 is also supposedly fully healed. The Chargers have only seen glimpses of what their former first round pick can do, so his improved health is great news for them.

Ingram (hamstring) is listed as active Sunday's game against the Raiders, Ricky Henne of chargers.com reports.
The return of Ingram, who will see his first game action since Week 2, bolsters the Chargers' pass-rushing depth, but a wait-and-see approach is in order from an IDP perspective.
Sun Nov 16 201410:11Ingram (hamstring) activated from IR/designated to return
Ingram (hamstring) has been activated from IR/designated to return, The San Diego-Union Tribune reports
Ingram is expected to play for the first time since Week 2, but there's no guarantee he'll have the same starting role. Rookie outside linebacker Jerry Attaochu is also expected to return from a hamstring injury, joining a position group that already has Jarrett Johnson and Dwight Freeney healthy. All four players figure to get playing time at outside linebacker, which is good for the San Diego defense but probably not Ingram's IDP production.
Tue Nov 11 201413:05Ingram (hip) expected to practice Wednesday
Ingram (hip) is expected to practice Wednesday, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Ingram has been sidelined with a hip/hamstring injury since Week 2, but he is eligible to be activated from IR-R this week, and should be able to play Sunday if he can make it through practice without issue.
Sat Sep 20 201417:08Ingram (hamstring
Ingram (hamstring, hip) was placed on injured reserve-designated to return Saturday, San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
It's a tough loss for the Chargers, as Ingram, the 18th overall pick in 2012, is currently tied for the league lead with eight quarterback hurries. He won't be eligible to play again until Week 11, meaning San Diego will have to lean heavily on the likes of Jerry Attaoechu (hamstring) and sixth-round pick Tourek Williams, though the team could move Reggie Walker to the outside or add Cordarro Law from the practice squad.

Ingram is out for Sunday's game in Buffalo due to a hamstring/hip issue, BuffaloBills.com reports.
Ingram has eight tackles and a sack as a starter for the Bolts so far and played impressively in last week's win over the defending champion Seahawks, so this is a bit of a loss for the team as it prepares to face a team that leans run-heavy.

Ingram had four tackles, one sack and one forced fumble on Sunday against the Seahawks.
This was one of Ingram's best day as a pro as he helped the Chargers beat the defending champs by keeping Marshawn Lynch and company relatively in check all afternoon. A big assist goes to the Chargers offense however, as the Bolts dominated time of possession in the game.
Thu Aug 7 201414:28Now 15 months removed from ACL tear
Now 15 months removed from his ACL tear, Ingram looks more comfortable on the field and is expected to greatly improve the Chargers' pass rush this season, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Ingram is expected to start tonight against the Cowboys, but he will likely be in a heavy rotation with Dwight Freeney and rookie Jerry Attaochu at one outside linebacker spot this season. Still, Ingram has looked faster and more confident in training camp and could be set to have a big year as he matures in his third season in the league.
Mon Apr 14 201410:40Melvin Ingram healthy, ready to start
Chargers OLB Melvin Ingram will be 16 months removed from his torn ACL when Week 1 arrives.
Ingram blew out his knee during OTAs last offseason and eased his way back into the mix for the final quarter of the season. He'll enter this season far closer to 100 percent and ready to capitalize on his substantial athletic upside as he bookends Dwight Freeney. Ingram projects to improve significantly on the 41 tackles, one sack and five pass breakups he posted as a rookie in 2012.

Sat Dec 7 201316:09Chargers active OLB Melvin Ingram from PUP
Chargers activated OLB Melvin Ingram (ACL surgery) from the reserve/PUP list.
Ingram has made an impressive recovery from his mid-May ACL tear and will play in Sunday's game against the Giants. It's a massive upgrade to a Chargers defense that's lost both Dwight Freeney and Larry English to injured reserve. Ingram will likely be eased in as a situational pass rusher before reclaiming his starting job. LB Adrian Robinson was waived to clear a spot on the 53-man roster.

Fri Nov 29 201322:09Melvin Ingram may play in December
The Union-Tribune San Diego reports OLB Melvin Ingram (ACL surgery, PUP) is a "real possibility" to play in the first half of December.
Ingram resumed practicing in mid-November. He won't be active for Sunday's clash with the Bengals, but could return in Week 14 or 15. It wold be a remarkable recovery from Ingram's mid-May ACL tear. "He's the best pound-for-pound athlete on the team," described teammate Bront Bird. "He's pretty good. He weighs 270 and can do a standing back flip after having an ACL injury."

Tue Nov 19 201316:35Melvin Ingram to resume practicing Wednesday
Chargers OLB Melvin Ingram (knee, PUP) will resume practicing on Wednesday.
Ingram's return to the practice field starts a 21-day window to activate him from the reserve/PUP list. Ingram is just six months removed from tearing his left ACL, and will most likely remain stowed away on the PUP list before returning at full strength in 2014.

Tue Nov 12 201318:33Melvin Ingram could resume practicing
Chargers OLB Melvin Ingram (PUP, ACL) is "tentatively" expected to resume practicing next week.
Ingram's potential return has taken on increased importance after the Bolts lost Larry English (pectoral) for the season on Sunday. The Chargers are woefully short on pass rushers, but there's still no guarantee Ingram suits up this season. San Diego has more to lose than gain by rushing him.

Thu Oct 31 201310:33Melvin Ingram won't be back for a while
Chargers OLB Melvin Ingram (PUP, knee) is not expected to try to begin practicing until Nov. 19.
Ingram tore his ACL during a May OTA. If he is able to get back in practice and contribute at all this season, the Chargers will consider it a bonus. The 2012 first-round pick led the team in quarterback hurries as a rookie with 29.

Wed Oct 16 201300:49Melvin Ingram not yet ready to come off PUP
Chargers OLB Melvin Ingram (ACL surgery) is not yet ready to return from the PUP list.
We've all along considered Ingram's return from his May left ACL tear a long shot in 2013, but the Chargers aren't giving up hope of a late-season comeback. The Bolts could really use Ingram after losing Dwight Freeney for the year.

Mon Aug 26 201315:42Chargers place Ingram on reserve/PUP list
Chargers placed OLB Melvin Ingram (ACL surgery) on the reserve/PUP list.
He's technically eligible to return in Week 7, although Ingram only has an outside shot at returning late in the year after tearing his left ACL in May. The Chargers' pass rush may border on anemic this season. They're leaning heavily on Dwight Freeney to be an every-down player. At 33 1/2 years old, Freeney is highly unlikely to maintain top form over the course of 16 games.

Wed Jul 24 201318:11Chargers place Melvin Ingram on PUP list
Chargers placed OLB Melvin Ingram (ACL tear) on the active/PUP list.
He'll be transferred to reserve/PUP once training camp and the preseason end. Ingram tore his left ACL at May OTAs. The Chargers haven't given up on the idea of Ingram making a late-season impact, but it's a big-time long shot.

Tue May 21 201316:05Bolts not ruling Ingram out for all of '13
The Chargers haven't ruled out OLB Melvin Ingram (torn ACL) returning in 2013.
It's a nice thought, but Ingram is an extreme long-shot to suit up this season. Perhaps he'll be placed on injured reserve/designated for return if the Chargers avoid injuries to other key players in training camp, but that would be a best-case scenario. There's no point in rushing Ingram's recovery so he could play limited snaps in what will likely be meaningless late-season games.
