Wed Nov 19 201410:01Baker (concussion) cut by Saints on Wednesday
Baker (concussion) was cut by the Saints on Wednesday, the National Football Post reports.
Baker appeared in three games for the Saints before missing last week's tilt against the Bengals with a concussion, logging only one carry. It could be a sign that the Saints expect at least one of Khiry Robinson (arm) or Pierre Thomas (rib/shoulder) back from injury this week, which would deem Baker expendable.

Baker (concussion) is out for Sunday's game against Cincinnati.
Baker is out along with Pierre Thomas (rib/shoulder) and Khiry Robinson (arm), which makes it appear as if Mark Ingram will have another big workload Sunday.

The Saints promoted Baker from their practice squad Saturday, NFL.com reports.
Baker figures to be active Sunday against Green Bay, providing depth with both Khiry Robinson (forearm) and Pierre Thomas (shoulder) ruled out. The second-year back played in three games with the Browns last season, totaling 171 yards and two touchdowns on 43 carries while adding 57 yards on eight receptions.
Mon Aug 25 201412:05Baker (hamstring) cut by Browns on Monday
Baker (hamstring) was cut by the Browns on Monday, the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Baker was handed 43 carries last season, but fell down the Browns' pecking order amid the additions of fellow running backs Ben Tate and Terrance West this offseason, as well as Dion Lewis returning from last season's broken leg. Additionally, a recent hamstring injury further reduced Baker's chances of making Cleveland's roster, especially with Isaiah Crowell and Chris Ogbonnaya around to provide depth. The 23-year-old will now hit the free agent market and hope to land elsewhere for the upcoming season.
Thu Aug 21 201419:19Baker (hamstring) did not practice Thursday
Baker (hamstring) did not practice Thursday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Baker did not carry the ball in the Browns' exhibition game with the Redskins Monday night, and had previously been fourth in line at practice to receive carries. Now with a new injury, the 23-year-old may be in jeopardy of not making the final roster cut, despite receiving 43 carries last season.
Thu Aug 7 201416:37Baker fourth in line to receive carries in team drills at Browns...
Baker was fourth in line to receive carries in team drills at Browns practice Thursday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Baker is competing in what looks to be a four-horse race for the right to back up Ben Tate and Terrance West, but he appears to have some ground to cover. The main thing Baker has going for him is experience, as he ran the ball 43 times for the Browns last season, gaining 171 yards and recording two scores. He'll continue to try to hold off Isaiah Crowell, Dion Lewis and Chris Ogbonnaya as camp moves forward.
Sat Jun 28 201413:38Edwin Baker showing well in spring practice
Browns RB Edwin Baker "has had some very good moments in the spring practices" and appears ahead of veteran RB Chris Ogbonnaya on the depth chart.
Baker held his own as a starter last season, gaining 171 yards in three games as Cleveland's lead back, but his reign atop the depth chart was never going to last. Baker is firmly behind new additions Ben Tate and Terrance West. He would need several injuries to have any fantasy value.

Sun Dec 29 201316:51Edwin Baker rushes for 69 yards vs. Steelers
Edwin Baker rushed 18 times for 69 yards in Cleveland's Week 17 loss to the Steelers.
Baker "added" two catches for -1 yards. Either way, it was one of the best efforts by a Browns back all season, and gives Baker 171 yards in three games as the Browns' starter. He finishes with a 4.0 YPC on 43 totes. Extremely quick to the hole, there's no hesitation to Baker's game. He looked better than Trent Richardson this season. Baker could compete for the Browns' starting job in 2014, but will more likely be back as a reserve.

Wed Dec 25 201308:58Browns likely to draft a RB in May
The Browns are expected to select a running back in May's draft.
Norv Turner's pet project, Edwin Baker, has shown reasonably well as a feature back over the last two games. He'll get another audition in that role against the Steelers Sunday, but he's no more than a long-term committee back in a pass-first scheme. The Browns have stockpiled an impressive seven picks in the first four rounds of the 2014 draft -- including an extra first-rounder courtesy of the Trent Richardson pillage.

Mon Dec 23 201311:01Edwin Baker played on 50 snaps in Week 16
Edwin Baker played on 50-of-69 snaps in Sunday's loss to the Jets.
Chris Ogbonnaya played just 20 snaps and Willis McGahee/Fozzy Whittaker combined for two. The Browns were clearly trying to get a long look at Baker as a potential feature back, and he responded by rushing 17 times for 64 yards with a touchdown against an excellent Jets run defense. For owners playing into Week 17, Baker makes for a sneaky play against the Steelers.

Sun Dec 22 201316:46Baker totals 76 yards, TD in loss to Jets
Edwin Baker rushed for 64 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries in Week 16 against the Jets.
Baker added two catches for 12 yards to his stat line. The Browns entered Week 15 with just two rushing touchdowns all season. Baker now has rushing scores in back-to-back weeks after being signed off Houston's practice squad. He started Sunday and dominated touches. Chris Ogbonnaya handled the ball twice, while Willis McGahee and Fozzy Whittaker didn't touch the ball. Baker is just 22 years old and is a guy to watch in dynasty. The Browns don't have a running-of-the-future currently on the roster. Baker gets the Steelers in the season finale.

Sun Dec 15 201317:44Edwin Baker surprisingly runs as feature back
Edwin Baker rushed eight times for 38 yards with a touchdown and added four catches for 46 yards in Sunday's Week 15 loss to the Bears.
Baker was signed off the Texans' practice squad five days ago. So it was a major surprise to watch him run as the clear-cut feature back for the Browns. Baker got the majority of base runs as well as the goal-line work (converting one from two yards out) and even got the call on a couple screen plays. Still, we'd avoid trusting Baker as a plug-n-play in Week 16. Willis McGahee (concussion) could be back and the Jets boast arguably the league's best run defense.

Thu Dec 12 201311:48Edwin Baker to see playing time
OC Norv Turner said he expects Edwin Baker to receive playing time in Sunday's game against the Bears.
Willis McGahee (concussion) is almost certainly out. Baker was just signed two days ago, but he has some familiarity with Norv Turner's scheme from their time together in San Diego. We wouldn't expect more than a few snaps behind Chris Ogbonnaya and Fozzy Whittaker.

Browns signed RB Edwin Baker.
Baker was on the Texans' practice squad. The No. 250 overall pick of the 2012 draft, Baker has yet to notch an NFL carry. Despite the sorry state of Cleveland's running back corps, that's unlikely to change.

Fri May 11 201213:44Chargers sign Edwin Baker to four-year deal
Chargers signed seventh-round RB Edwin Baker to a four-year contract.
A former top high school recruit, Baker looked posed for stardom as a sophomore before his production sank as a junior playing behind Le'Veon Bell. Baker goes 5-foot-8, 202 with surprising pop for a small man and 4.45-4.47 speed. He has a significant talent edge on incumbent third-stringer Curtis Brinkley.
