INF Pedro Florimon (right ankle dislocation) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Tuesday. The transaction made room on the 40-man roster for IF J.P. Crawford, who had his contract purchased from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Florimon was already declared out for the year after he was injured while stepping awkwardly on first base while trying to beat out an infield single on Saturday. He hit .348 with no homers and six RBIs in 15 games for the Phillies this season.

CF Pedro Florimon dislocated his right ankle and is likely done for the year. Florimon beat out an infield hit, extending his hitting streak to seven games and improving his batting average to .348. But he got hurt as he stepped on the bag and was in obvious pain. The game was delayed for about 15 minutes as Florimon had to be carried onto a cart and taken off the field.

The Phillies will face three consecutive Giants lefties Friday through Sunday.

2B Pedro Florimon collected his first triple of the season Sunday afternoon, the fifth of his career. He narrowly missed his first home run since 2013 when the triple caromed off the glove of Reds CF Jose Peraza near the wall. Florimon went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

SS Pedro Florimon, a September call-up who had twice pinch-run, made his season hitting debut for the Pirates in the seventh after entering the game as a substitute. He got an infield single that glanced off of the pitcher. In the ninth, he grounded out to end the game.

INF Pedro Florimon had his contract selected from Triple-A Indianapolis. He has not played in the majors this season but has hit .199 in 238 career games. With Indianapolis this season, he hit .255 in 107 games.

SS Pedro Florimon accepted his assignment to the minor leagues and will head to Triple-A Indianapolis after a brief stint with High-A West Virginia. Florimon was designed for assignment prior to Opening Day and cleared waivers earlier this week.

As expected, Florimon will land in Indianapolis after being DFA'd last week. The infielder was hitting a paltry .105 on the year (only 19 at-bats), so he'll look to get things straightened out at the Triple-A level, where's slashing .254/.324/.384 in 61 games.

Despite being the hero in Tuesday's game, Florimon was still only hitting .105 on the season, so it made sense for him to be the odd man out with Josh Wall getting promoted.

Florimon will start at shortstop and bat ninth Wednesday against the Royals, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Jung-Ho Kang will slide over to third base, opening the door for Florimon to make his first start in a Pirates uniform. The switch-hitting Florimon slashed .265/.346/.393 against right-handed pitching with Triple-A Indianapolis before his callup, but he's a .204/.266/.300 career hitter at the major league level (692 PA). It's hard to imagine he'll earn and maintain a significant role while Josh Harrison and Jordy Mercer remain out.

Florimon was called up from Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday, Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune reports.

Florimon will come up to take the roster spot of Wilfredo Boscan, who was optioned to Indianapolis. The 28-year-old has spent the season at Triple-A, slashing .254/.324/.384 with 18 RBI and 11 steals in 61 games. He'll primarily provide infield depth and doesn't figure to be an everyday player, barring an injury.

Florimon has cleared waivers, and will be outrighted to Triple-A Indianapolis, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Bill Brink reports.

This comes as no surprise, as Florimon has shown little ability to hit big league pitching (.204 career average). He will provide the Pirates with organizational middle-infield depth.

If he isn't claimed on waivers, Florimon will be one of the Pirates' first options should the need for infield depth arise.

The Pirates claimed Florimon off waivers from the Nationals on Thursday, James Wagner of the Washington Post reports.

Florimon did not appear in a game with the Nationals after being claimed by the club in mid-September. He struggled mightily with the bat last season but could get a shot to compete for a utility job during spring training.

The Nationals claimed Florimon off waivers from the Twins on Thursday.

Florimon compiled a disastrous .092/.179/.132 batting line in 33 games with Minnesota earlier this season, but he'll get a fresh start with Washington, with Eury Perez designated for assignment in the corresponding move. Although Florimon has played primarily at short in his professional career, he can play second base and third base if needed. He'll likely serve merely as depth over the final week of the regular season.
