On the season, Wright has racked up the third-most snaps among Vikings wideouts -- 59 percent to be exact -- but managed just five receptions (on 10 targets) for 72 yards across three outings.

It was a typical game for Wright as he doesn't get many touches (just two throws his way in the passing game), but produces big plays when he gets the ball. With Minnesota's run-oriented offense, Wright doesn't get much action as the third receiver.

Wright had one reception for 27 yards on four targets in Monday's loss at San Francisco.

With 35 snaps, Wright played about half the plays on offense as the Vikings frequently featured three-receiver sets. Wright begins the season as the slot receiver. He may not get many targets in the role but has big play potential. Minnesota's passing game will need to improve significantly from Week 1 for him to even be considered in most fantasy football formats.

Wright signed a four-year, $14.8 million extension with the Vikings on Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

In three seasons with the Vikings, Wright has slowly worked his way up the depth chart, culminating in 42 receptions (on 62 targets) for 588 yards and two touchdowns in 2014. A large portion of that production occurred in two 100-yard outings, but he did finish the season strong, tallying 14 catches for 233 yards and both of his scores over the final four games. Entering the coming campaign, he'll serve as the No. 3 wideout behind Mike Wallace and Charles Johnson.

Wright had one reception for seven yards in Saturday's preseason win over Dallas.

Wright got his work with the first-team offense which should indicate he's won the job as the No. 3 receiver. Cordarrelle Patterson has struggled at times this preseason, so Wright will begin the season as the slot receiver between Mike Wallace and Charles Johnson.

"The best things that Jarius did were when he was in the slot," coach Mike Zimmer said. "We keep working him outside, but we know he has big value for us in the slot as well."

Greg Jennings was used in the slot most of the time last season, so Wright will move there this season. What's most notable about this report is that Wright appears ahead of Cordarrelle Patterson for the No. 3 wide receiver role on the depth chart as training camp begins.

Wright suffered a back injury in the first half of Sunday's game against the Bears and did not return, ESPN.com reports. He caught three passes on three targets for 23 yards before being knocked out.

Wright finishes the season with 42 catches on 62 targets for 587 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games. He has one more year on his contract, but even if he's brought back, he isn't likely to supplant Greg Jennings or Charles Johnson on the depth chart.

Wright aggravated his back injury in the first half of Sunday's game against the Bears and is doubtful to return.

The Vikings struggled to move the ball in the first half, and Wright's three catches for 23 yards were leading the team when he departed. With no playoff spot to play for, Wright looks like he is done for the day.

Wright had three receptions for 38 yards, including an eight-yard touchdown, in Sunday's loss to Miami. He was targeted three times and also had one carry for 27 yards.

Wright is still getting more targets than Cordarrelle Patterson and gets used on a reverse almost every game, but he's not getting enough touches for viable fantasy value in most formats.

Wright had four receptions for 49 yards on six targets in Sunday's loss to Detroit. He missed time in the fourth quarter due to an ankle injury, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Wright had his ankle stepped on and needed time off. The severity of the injury isn't clear, so check to see if he's able to practice Wednesday.

Wright had four catches on five targets for 123 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 30-24 overtime win over the Jets.

Wright was having a very modest fantasy day before catching a screen pass in overtime and taking it 87 yards for the game-winning touchdown. It was the second time this season that Wright has gone for more than 120 yards, but the touchdown was his first this year and he's failed to reach even 45 yards in 10 contests. Wright is a classic boom-or-bust option, but the booms are far too inconsistent to rely upon in most fantasy leagues.

Wright had two receptions for 40 yards on two targets and had one carry for five yards in Sunday's win over Carolina.

Wright has fallen behind Charles Johnson on the depth chart, but still is the third receiver with Cordarrelle Patterson surprisingly stuck on the bench last week (just three snaps on offense).
