Jets coach Rex Ryan confirmed 2012 third-round pick Demario Davis will be a starter in his second season.
He'll take Bart Scott's place next to David Harris. "He's our No. 1 WILL linebacker on our depth chart," Ryan said of Davis. "Clearly Demario is a guy we feel very good about." Davis primarily played in nickel packages last season, amassing 36 tackles across 16 games. He'll be on the LB3 radar in IDP leagues.

ESPN New York expects Demario Davis to replace Bart Scott as a starting inside linebacker in 2013.
Scott is fully expected to be released along with OLB Calvin Pace. That leaves Davis, a 2012 third-round pick that will provide an upgrade in athleticism. He projects to give IDP owners more than the 60 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one interception Scott provided last season.

The Sideline View's Adam Caplan has issued an IDP alert for Jets third-round ILB Demario Davis.
"For those who are in fantasy dynasty leagues with defensive players, go get ‪#Jets‬ ILB Demario Davis," tweeted Caplan, who has a fantasy football analyst background. Caplan wrote that Davis profiles as Bart Scott's replacement in 2013, when Scott's guaranteed money runs out. One NFL exec told Caplan that Davis projects as an 8-10 year starter "based on his talent level, which is strong."
