Richardson has been signed to the Texans' practice squad, the Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson reports.

Though Arian Foster's Week 3 status has yet to be solidified, the addition of Richardson is probably more tied to the fact that fellow RB Jonathan Grimes missed practice Wednesday.

Richardson was released by the Jets on Saturday, Seth Walder of the NY Daily News reports.

Zac Stacy, another former Ram, beat out Richardson for the No. 3 spot on the depth chart. Chris Ivory is set to lead the New York backfield, with Bilal Powell likely getting a good portion of the passing-down work. Richardson, meanwhile, may have to wait until next preseason to get another shot at making an NFL roster.

Just one year removed from a successful rookie campaign as a change-of-pace back, Richardson is unlikely to make it through waivers unclaimed.
