Bademosi was signed as an undrafted free agent last year, and led the Browns in special teams tackles with 18. ESPN Cleveland reports that the Browns are "intrigued" by DB Johnson Bademosi and expect him to challenge Tashaun Gipson for the starting free safety job.
The Browns don't have any proven options at free safety, so Bademosi is competing with Gibson and Buster Skrine to be the Week 1 starter. Sixth-round pick Jamoris Slaughter (Achilles') will also be "added to the mix" once healthy. Bademosi struggled to get on the field as a cornerback last year, but should be a strong candidate for more playing time at safety this season.

Thu May 16 201313:45Browns trying Bademosi out as a safety
The Browns are giving second-year DB Johnson Bademosi a look at safety.
Bademosi made the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford last season, and he played 24 snaps on defense. Many thought he lacked the cover skills to survive on the outside, and the Browns have a hole at free safety. Bademosi ran a 4.39 forty and posted a 40" vertical at the Cardinal's Pro Day.
