Tue Sep 29 201516:35Pead released by Rams on Tuesday
Pead was released by the Rams on Tuesday, ESPN's Nick Wagoner reports.
With Todd Gurley, Tre Mason and Benny Cunningham all healthy, the Rams had no need for their 2012 second-round draft pick. Pead displayed top-notch speed and elusiveness in college, but he's shown next to nothing in the NFL. If he does get a look elsewhere, it may just be as a potential return man.

Pead carried two times for three yards and had a key lost fumble in Sunday's 34-31 overtime win against the Seahawks.
Pead was the primary backup in the game with Tre Mason (hamstring) and Todd Gurley (knee) both out, but didn't see much time and nearly contributed to a devastating loss with a fumble in his own territory. With Mason likely to return soon and Tavon Austin seeing occasional carries, Pead is unlikely to see much, if any, game time in the future.

Pead gained 52 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries in a 24-17 preseason loss to Philadelphia on Thursday.
Pead may have solidified his roster spot with a stellar showing Thursday after nobody could run the ball in the team's previous game. With Tre Mason (hamstring) and Todd Gurley (knee) both ailing, Pead may actually see a carry or two in the season opener, especially if Mason does not play.

Pead tallied 18 yards on six rushes in Saturday's 24-14 preseason defeat at the hands of the Colts.
Pead may get himself a roster spot due to Todd Gurley being out for a little while still, but he is buried on the depth chart. He did have the longest run of the game Saturday at 13 yards, but only gained 5 yards on the other five rushes.

Pead may be the odd running back out come cutdown time in August with the drafting of Todd Gurley, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Pead missed last season with a knee injury and has had off-the-field issues in the past, so a completion between him and Trey Watts will likely end with Watts on the squad. Pead will have to really impress in the offseason and through training camp to get an opportunity to remain with the Rams.
Thu Aug 21 201417:29Pead placed on IR by Rams
After clearing waivers Thursday, Pead was placed on IR by the Rams, foxsports.com reports.
It's a predictable outcome for Pead after the 2012 second-rounder tore his ACL during Saturday's preseason contest against the Packers. Assuming no issues in his recovery, Pead will presumably have a shot to make a push for a spot in the team's backfield mix next year.
Wed Aug 20 201416:09Pead waived/injured by Rams
Pead has been waived/injured by the Rams, whose injured reserve list he'll land on should no team claim him off waivers, USA Today reports.
Pead tore his ACL during Saturday's preseason game and is slated to miss the entire upcoming campaign. A second round pick in 2012, Pead has rushed for just 75 yards on 17 carries during his career thus far and is yet to reach the end zone either.

Coach Jeff Fisher has confirmed that Pead suffered a torn ACL on Saturday.
Pead is thus lost for the season, which leaves Benny Cunningham and Tre Mason to jostle for backup slotting behind the Rams' top back, Zac Stacy.
Sat Aug 16 201420:39Isaiah Pead: Likely Out For Season
Pead is believed to have suffered an ACL injury on Saturday and is likely out for the season, the St. Louis Dispatch reports.
Pead was currently third on the depth chart ahead of rookie Tre Mason. With this news, Mason will likely get more opportunities this season, although, Zac Stacy and Benny Cunningham were the top backs heading into Saturday and will continue to be featured all season.

Pead (leg) was carted out during the first quarter of Saturday's preseason game against Green Bay, St. Louis Post-Dispatch writer Jim Thomas reports.
Thomas suggested Pead's injury occurred around the knee area, which isn't a great sign. Pead suffered the injury on a 33-yard kick return.
Sat Aug 9 201410:24Pead missed initial preseason game Friday with hand injury
Pead missed the initial preseason game Friday with a hand injury.
Pead missed some of practice earlier in the week, and his hand appears to still be bothering him. He is currently listed as the No. 3 running back, but will have to fend off Chase Reynolds and Tre Mason.
Mon Aug 4 201420:39Pead listed third on St
Pead is listed third on St. Louis' depth chart to start the preseason, the Rams' official site reports.
Pead is struggling with a hand injury, but has apparently shown enough in the offseason to be placed ahead of Tre Mason. He has to fully shake off last season and perform well in the preseason if he's going to move up, and not move down, the depth chart.
Wed Jul 30 201407:17Pead sat out Tuesday's practice and seen with cast on hand
Pead sat out Tuesday's practice and was seen with a cast on his hand, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
It isn't known when Pead was injured, but this certainly won't help his chances of moving up the depth chart that he slid down last season. He will likely begin the season as fourth in line at running back.
Mon Jun 23 201408:44Isaiah Pead will be dressing for Rams
Isaiah Pead is expected to dress every week for the Rams due to his play on special teams.
When Pead fell out of the backfield mix last year, he went to special teams John Fassel and asked to run down kicks. He ended up excelling in that role over the final seven games, giving him a strong shot at this year's final roster. Pead will also try to beat out Benny Cunningham and win the third-string running back job behind Zac Stacy and Tre Mason.

Thu May 15 201412:54Report: Rams tried to trade Pead during draft
NFL insider Dan Pompei reports Rams 2012 second-round pick Isaiah Pead was "the subject of some trade talks during the draft."
The Rams return Zac Stacy and Benny Cunningham, and used a top-75 pick on Tre Mason. At the Combine, GM Les Snead indicated he envisions Pead as mostly a special teamer. Pead's roster chances are around 50:50 entering training camp. It's likely St. Louis was the initiator of trade talks, not the other way around. Through three NFL seasons, Pead has 17 carries for 75 yards (4.4 YPC).

Fri Feb 21 201414:50Rams now see Isaiah Pead as special teamer
Rams GM Les Snead indicated at the Combine that the team now envisions 2012 second-round pick Isaiah Pead as a special teamer.
Knowshon Moreno and Donald Brown give talented Pead some hope for a later-career resurgence, but he's clearly now on the backburner in St. Louis' backfield. "He became one of our better special teamers," Snead said of Pead. "You can expect some nice things going forward for him." Pead finished 2013 with two special teams tackles. He was the 50th overall pick in the 2012 draft.

Fri Jan 24 201413:47Rams may cut ties with RB Pead
Rams RB Isaiah Pead isn't assured of returning to St. Louis in 2014.
The 50th pick in the 2012 draft, Pead will have to scrape for a roster spot after earning just 17 carries through two NFL seasons. Although Pead's college tape was largely impressive, he simply hasn't panned out in the NFL, and his passion for football has been questioned. Zac Stacy is locked in as St. Louis' franchise back, with Benny Cunningham favored for the No. 2 role.

It's unclear if Isaiah Pead or Daryl Richardson would be the No. 2 back if Zac Stacy (concussion) sits out Sunday.

Mon Oct 28 201319:16Pead once again a healthy scratch for Rams
Rams declared RB Isaiah Pead a healthy inactive for Monday night's Week 8 game against the Seahawks.
Even with Benny Cunningham (ankle) also inactive, Pead still can't crack the game-day 46. Zac Stacy and Daryl Richardson will handle backfield duties. Also inactive for the Rams are QB Brady Quinn, G/C Barrett Jones, T Mike Person, and DE Gerald Rivers. Cortland Finnegan (thigh) and C Scott Wells (thigh) are active.

Sun Oct 6 201316:25Isaiah Pead barely plays in win over JAX
Isaiah Pead recorded no carries or receptions in Sunday's Week 5 win over the Jaguars.
Pead was active, but settled in as the No. 4 back behind Zac Stacy, Daryl Richardson and Benny Cunningham. He's clearly in Jeff Fisher's doghouse -- whether that's due to on-field or off-field matters.
