Mon Jan 6 201415:55Colts sign two wide receivers
Colts signed WRs Deion Branch and Josh Lenz.
Branch had been on the street, while UDFA Lenz was on Indianapolis' practice squad. Branch has a big name, but his signing has more to do with depth than sudden postseason impact. 34 years old, Branch hasn't played a football snap since last January's Patriots playoff loss to the Ravens.

Wed Dec 11 201319:39Free agent Deion Branch works out for Colts
Free agent WR Deion Branch worked out for the Colts.
It's the first we've heard the 34-year-old's name in half a year. Branch has little to nothing left in the tank and wouldn't be anything more than the No. 5 receiver in Indianapolis. RB Shaun Draughn also worked out for Indy.

Tue Jul 16 201312:06Branch more likely back with NE than Lloyd
ESPN Boston considers the Patriots more likely to re-sign free agent Deion Branch than free agent Brandon Lloyd.
Although Lloyd has more left in the tank and is a better fit for the X spot in the offense, he rubbed a lot of people inside the locker room the wrong way. The Patriots appear to have almost no interest in bringing him back. They aren't likely to call upon Branch either, unless Michael Jenkins, Aaron Dobson, Josh Boyce and Julian Edelman all flame out at camp.

Sun Apr 28 201311:23Deion Branch unlikely to return to Patriots
Free agent Deion Branch is unlikely to be re-signed by the Patriots after the team drafted two receivers this weekend.
Branch, 34 in July, caught 16 passes for 145 yards in ten games for the Patriots last season, and he may be nearing the end of the road. New England hopes second-round pick Aaron Dobson and fourth-rounder Josh Boyce can stabilize its receiving corps where they won't need Branch's phone number as insurance any longer.

Sun Jan 20 201323:17Deion Branch has two-catch night vs. Ravens
Deion Branch caught two passes for 15 yards in New England's AFC title game loss to the Ravens.
They were Branch's only two grabs of New England's two game playoff run. Shuttled between the street and New England's 53-man roster this season, Branch posted just 16 catches for 145 yards in 10 games. Six months shy of his 34th birthday, Branch won't be more than a back-up option for the Patriots in 2013.

Mon Dec 17 201201:33Deion Branch has four-catch night vs. 49ers
Deion Branch caught four passes for 37 yards in New England's Week 15 loss to the 49ers.
Branch was targeted five times in a game where Tom Brady attempted an astounding 65 passes, but wasn't any bigger part of the offense than he was before his relief. Even in New England's prolific offense, there's no fantasy value here.

Tue Dec 11 201218:54Report: Patriots bringing back Deion Branch
The Boston Globe confirms the Patriots will re-sign WR Deion Branch to replace the injured Donte' Stallworth.
That was quick. The Pats had released Branch twice since August because he struggles to separate from cornerbacks at age 33. On the positive side, he's schooled in Josh McDaniels' offense and has complete trust from Tom Brady. Branch will likely jump right into the third receiver role, though he is without fantasy value down the stretch.

Sat Nov 17 201216:32Patriots waive 33-year-old WR Deion Branch
Patriots waived WR Deion Branch.
Branch was among the Patriots' final cuts coming out of the preseason but was later re-signed prior to Week 3. The 33-year-old caught just nine passes for 80 yards in seven games of spot work. Branch could be nearing the end of a solid career in which he was part of two Super Bowl championships along with being the Super Bowl MVP in 2004. New England also waived DB Malcolm Williams to make room for CB Aqib Talib and WR Greg Salas. Branch was listed on the Week 11 injury report with a hamstring injury which led to his release.

Mon Sep 24 201201:30Deion Branch makes two catches in loss
Deion Branch caught two passes for 11 yards in the Patriots' Week 3 loss to the Ravens on Sunday Night Football.
Re-signed five days ago, Branch drew three targets. Although Tom Brady is surely happy to have Branch back as an underneath security blanket, he's out of sight, out of mind in fantasy leagues.

Sat Sep 15 201220:27Branch would 'love to be back' with Patriots
When asked if he would return to the Patriots if they offered him a roster spot, free agent wide receiver Deion Branch said he "would love to be back."
"I'd embrace it and pick up right where I left off at," added Branch. The recently released 33-year-old Branch has made no known free agent visits since being let go on August 31st. His chances of returning to New England may have taken a hit when the team acquired Greg Salas from St. Louis prior to Week 1. Branch should be able to find somewhere to play at some point this season.

Tue Sep 4 201221:49Dolphins not considering Deion Branch
According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have "passed on" working out free agent Deion Branch.
The Dolphins haven't been connected to Branch since his release from the Pats, and it doesn't sound like they will be going forward. It could be taken as a poor sign for Branch's future that the league's receiver-neediest team isn't interested in his services, but a deal wouldn't be terribly sensible for either side. Branch shouldn't go unsigned this season.

Mon Sep 3 201212:45Report: Branch, Pats interested in reunion
CSN New England reports the Patriots and free agent Deion Branch have mutual interest in a new deal.
There were whispers when Branch was released that he'd be brought back after Week 1, but those chances seemed to take a hit when the Patriots acquired Greg Salas. Nevertheless, the Pats rarely make the obvious call on personnel decisions, so Branch re-signing in the very near future should be considered a distinct possibility.

Fri Aug 31 201213:33Deion Branch released by Patriots
Patriots released WR Deion Branch.
The Pats are going young. In the last two days, they've dumped the dead weight of veteran wideouts Branch, Jabar Gaffney and Donte' Stallworth. Jesse Holley and Kerry Taylor are now in position to stick as backups out wide, with Julian Edelman caddying for Wes Welker in the slot. Branch can no longer separate and doesn't have long speed.

Tue Aug 21 201209:59Deion Branch sees heavy preseason action
Deion Branch played 73-of-74 snaps in Monday's preseason game against the Eagles.
Branch was one of the only Patriots' regulars to see extensive playing time, and he used it to make three catches for 51 yards. Tom Brady was inactive. ESPN Boston believes the performance "would seem to solidify" Branch's standing as the Pats' No. 3 receiver behind Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd.

Thu Jun 28 201209:08Branch, Stallworth battling for one spot?
ESPN Boston says Deion Branch and Donte' Stallworth are battling for one roster spot.
Brandon Lloyd, Wes Welker and Jabar Gaffney are all locks for the final roster. Special teams captain Matthew Slater and returner Julian Edelman have specific roles as well. Branch and Stallworth are similarly out of gas, but the former has been slightly more durable and knows the offense better. Whoever wins the battle will need an injury ahead of them to get on the fantasy radar.

Thu May 31 201216:57Deion Branch 'continues to be unimpressive'
Deion Branch "continues to be unimpressive" in OTAs, relays Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe.
"The guy catches everything but his burst is diminishing," adds Bedard. If not for Branch's mind-meld rapport with Tom Brady, it's unlikely he would have been re-signed after fading drastically down the stretch last season. Jabar Gaffney, spending most of his practice time behind Wes Welker in the slot, could begin eating into Branch's reps.

Tue May 29 201211:29Deion Branch returning punts in OTAs
Deion Branch has been returning punts in Patriots OTAs.
Returning punts would be an interesting way for Branch to increase his standing in the Pats' crowded receiver corps, though he's returned just seven in his career, and none since 2004. Were Branch to get a long look as a returner, it would be bad news for 2011 returner Julian Edelman. Also battling for a roster spot, Edelman averaged a decent 10.7 yards on 28 returns last season.
