1B/OF Kyle Jensen, 28, made his major league debut as a pinch hitter and flied out in the eighth after the Diamondbacks selected his contract from Triple-A Reno on Saturday. He hit .289 with 30 homers and 120 RBIs for Reno, leading the Pacific Coast League in the latter two categories. He was a minor league free agent after last season and signed with the Diamondbacks. Jensen spent the first six years of his career in the Miami organization before being traded after the 2014 season to the Dodgers and spending last year at Triple-A Oklahoma City. Arizona manager Chip Hale said, "It's great to be able to promote a guy like him, give him an opportunity. We'll see if we can get him a game or two at first, two or three out in the outfield and see what he looks like."

Jensen was acquired by the Dodgers on Monday.
Jensen was traded away from the Marlins for cash considerations and a player to be named later. He spent the majority of last season at Triple-A New Orleans where he played in 133 games while accounting for 27 home runs and 92 runs batted in on a .260 batting average.
Tue Mar 11 201416:26Kyle Jensen homers to lead Marlins
Kyle Jensen hit a two-run homer off Drake Britton in the top of the ninth to lead the Marlins to a 5-4 win over a Red Sox split-squad on Tuesday.
That makes him 4-for-8 this spring. Jensen, 25, hit 28 homers in the minors last season, but it came with just a .235 average and 144 strikeouts in 447 at-bats between Double- and Triple-A. He's probably not going to make the Marlins unless he's a starter, and that seems like quite a long shot. Still, with the way Miami tends to shuffle through players, he could get a look later on.

X-rays on Marlins' prospect outfielder Kyle Jensen's left elbow came back negative.
Jensen was hit in the elbow by a pitch during Tuesday's game. The area is still very swollen, so it's possible he'll go for further testing in a couple days. The 23-year-old outfielder batted .299/.373/.524 with 27 homers, 76 RBI and an .897 OPS last season between High-A Jupiter and Double-A Jacksonville and was ranked as the organization's No. 19 prospect by Baseball America during the offseason.
