LHP John Lamb was optioned to Triple-A Louisville on Sunday after allowing nine earned runs in two-plus innings in a 9-1 loss to Milwaukee on Saturday. "We've got to get him pitching the way he's capable of pitching," Reds manager Bryan Price said. "He knows. It wasn't a big surprise. He's had 14 starts. I believe strongly that he's a better pitcher than he's shown in his time here. We'll use our Triple-A team to get him sharp".

LHP John Lamb was optioned to Triple-A Louisville by the Reds, who called up OF Kyle Waldrop.Lamb gave up nine earned runs in only two-plus innings Saturday, and is 1-7 with a 6.43 ERA in 14 starts this season. LHP John Lamb made his first outing against Washington on Sunday. He gave up eight hits and eight runs in 4 1/3 innings and was tagged with the loss. Lamb loaded the bases on three walks in a row to start the fourth. Danny Espinosa, the No. 8 hitter in the lineup, then lined a 2-2 pitch over the wall in left for a grand slam and a 5-0 lead. "He made a mistake out over the plate to Espinosa, who killed us all series," Reds manager Bryan Price said. "He hit his second grand slam of the series. He was hitting a lot of mistakes. That is what you do when you hit" well.

LHP John Lamb will start the series finale Sunday in Washington. It will be his first career appearance against the Nationals. He is 1-4 with a 4.60 ERA this season.

LHP John Lamb pitched six innings for the fifth time this season, but again fell victim to a high pitch count (102). Lamb scattered six hits against the first-place Cubs including a solo homer by Ben Zobrist, allowing two earned runs with one walk and seven strikeouts.

LHP John Lamb allowed four earned runs in 5 1/3 innings Thursday night, again a victim of a lofty pitch-count. He needed 102 pitches to get through his outing, throwing 55 for strikes. "I just need to get outs," said Lamb. "I can't sum it up any other way. I need to make good pitches and get outs. It's a matter of just continuing to bear down. Every pitch is an important pitch."

LHP John Lamb (1-4, 4.75) is scheduled to start Thursday's series opener against San Diego. It's both his 10th appearance and start of the season, and first career appearance vs. the Padres. Early this month, Lamb became the first Reds starter this season to throw in consecutive apps at least 7.0 innings.

LHP John Lamb (1-4, 5.14 ERA) will make his ninth start of the season and the first of his career against Houston on Friday. He was roughed up by Oakland in his last start, allowing four runs, seven hits and two walks in four innings. In three starts in June, Lamb is 2-1 with a 2.95 ERA, twice pitching at least seven innings.

Lamb's curveball dipped as low as 65 miles per hour as he effectively changed speeds throwing 77 of his 112 pitches for strikes. Lamb was charged with just one earned run. "I'm just happy to come out here and have success and for us to get a win," Lamb said. "Throwing my stuff for strikes, everything felt consistent in my delivery.
