Crisp was not in the Athletics' starting lineup Tuesday and he left the Oakland clubhouse at Minute Maid Field in Houston about an hour before the start of the game.Crisp, who will turn 37 in November, has just over $2 million left on his current contract that paid him $11 million this year.Crisp has spent the entire 2016 season on Oakland's active roster, batting .235 with 24 doubles, four triples, 11 home runs and 47 RBIs in 102 games. Hynes, who started the season with the Blue Jays, has fallen precipitously this season. After making five appearances for the Jays in April, he was sent down to Triple-A. From there, things continued going poorly for the 30-year-old lefty, who was sent down to Double-A at the end of June. For Double-A New Hampshire, he holds a 3.72 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP in 9.2 innings.
