Fri Feb 15 201309:07McGee open to re-signing with Bills
Free agent CB Terrence McGee would "love" to re-sign with the Bills for a lower price, but hasn't been given "any indication that could happen."
McGee has to get his knee healthy for any team to show interest. "I'm trying to get my knee back to 100 percent and hopefully find a landing spot somewhere else," he said said. The Bills are unlikely to give the aging and injury-prone McGee another chance.

Thu Feb 14 201315:57Bills release CB McGee and his $1.75M salary
Bills released CB Terrence McGee.
McGee, 32, ended three of the last four seasons on injured reserve, and he hasn't played in all 16 games since 2004, his second season in the NFL. In 2012, he played in just seven games as he struggled to return to form after patellar tendon surgery. The Bills signed McGee to a new two-year deal last offseason, and his release clears his $1.75 million base salary and $350,000 in bonuses off the 2013 books. If McGee can show he's healthy, he might be able to get a one-year deal on the open market.

Tue Nov 6 201217:11Bills place CB McGee on injured reserve
Bills placed CB Terrence McGee (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Unable to practice on consecutive days after offseason patellar tendon surgery, McGee hasn't played since Week 7. Battling an array of injuries, the 31-year-old hasn't played more than 11 games in any of the past four seasons. He seems unlikely to collect his $1.75 million salary and $350,000 roster bonus in 2013.

Bills CB Terrence McGee (recovery from knee surgery) has played "sparingly" thus far in camp.
"When you talk about percentages of where he is he gains a percentage or two every day," coach Chan Gailey said. "He never makes a jump of 10-15 percent so it's slowly but surely coming." McGee is not expected to play in Friday's preseason game. His roster spot is very much in jeopardy.

Mon Jul 30 201207:55Terrence McGee worried about his roster spot
Bills CB Terrence McGee admitted concern over his roster spot.
McGee has been beaten down by injuries of late. He appeared in just six games due to hamstring and knee issues last year and then underwent patellar tendon surgery. The nine-year Bills veteran hasn't been able to practice at full speed yet in training camp. "I'm at the back of the line right now," McGee said. "There are guys way in front of me right now."

Bills CB Terrence McGee (patellar tendon surgery) has been cleared to practice in training camp.
McGee recovered quickly for a 31-year-old with injury issues in recent years. He should have the inside track on Buffalo's nickel/slot cornerback job this season. Aaron Williams and Stephon Gilmore will be the starters outside.

Sun Jul 1 201209:16Four-man competition for Bills' nickel CB job
Terrence McGee, Leodis McKelvin, Justin Rogers, and rookie Ron Brooks are competing for the Bills' nickel corner job.
McGee was expected to kick inside in the nickel last season, but missed significant action due to hamstring and knee injuries. McKelvin barely played the slot last season, but has been used there "a good deal" in spring practices. Rogers and Brooks have impressed this offseason and are heavily in the mix. The four-man competition figures to run well into the preseason.

Wed May 23 201209:02Bills CB McGee 'shooting for training camp'
Bills CB Terrence McGee is "shooting for training camp" in his return from patella tendon surgery.
"So hopefully I'll be 100 percent and be able to go out there and compete for a job," said McGee. "It's never been this long for me. I had surgery in November so it's going to be June and I still don't feel ready. I've never been through something like this." There's a good chance McGee will have to start the season in subpackages.

Fri May 4 201208:44Bills CB McGee 'nowhere near' full health
Bills CB Terrence McGee's (patella tendon surgery) concedes he's "nowhere near" where he needs to be as far as straight-line running.
McGee hopes to be cleared for football activities by the end of OTAs, but the recent history of players returning from torn patella tendons doesn't bode well. McGee, now 31, has missed 17 games over the past two years due to hamstring and knee injuries. He's no longer guaranteed a roster spot with Stephon Gilmore on board.

Wed Feb 22 201218:52Bills CB McGee agrees to new 2-year deal
Updating a previous item, Bills CB Terrence McGee's (patella tendon surgery) "restructured" contract is actually a brand new two-year deal.
As opposed to a restructuring, McGee lowered each of his final two base salaries and received a $300,000 signing bonus. His 2012 salary is now $1.35 million, and McGee can make $1.75 million in salary in 2013. Per Scout.com's Aaron Wilson, McGee will earn just over $4 million if he makes the Bills' roster in both seasons. Now being paid like a nickel back, McGee's 2012 salary cap number was lowered from $6.3 million this year to $3.78 million.

Wed Feb 22 201217:21Bills redo Terrence McGee's contract
The Bills have worked out a restructured contract with CB Terrence McGee, who is coming off patella tendon surgery and was owed a $3.6 million salary in 2012.
McGee would have been cut without the redo. The 31-year-old cornerback tore his patella tendon in November and may not be ready for the start of training camp, let alone Week 1. While McGee held his own when healthy in 2011, the Bills can't count on him for a big 2012 impact after the brutal injury.

Thu Feb 16 201218:04Bills CB McGee expects to be cleared by May
Bills CB Terrence McGee (patella tendon surgery) reportedly expects to receive medical clearance by May.
That's a highly optimistic timetable. McGee may be cleared to resume football activities in time for minicamp, but that's entirely different than regaining pre-injury form. We suspect McGee will be eased into training camp if he manages to retain a roster spot with a $3.6 million salary.

Bills CB Terrence McGee underwent surgery on his patella tendon, ending his season.
McGee's legs got tangled up with Davone Bess in the second quarter yesterday. Now the starting corner's goal will be to get ready for 2012 training camp. The Buffalo News expects Drayton Florence and rookie Aaron Williams to start at corner against the Jets next week. The Bills' pass defense is currently ranked 24th and has little chance of improvement now.

Bills LCB Terrence McGee (hamstring) didn't play any snaps in Week 5, but is expected to return to full-time duties in Week 6.
McGee was listed as probable on the injury report, so the Bills were a bit deceptive. "We were trying not to play him, if we could," coach Chan Gailey said. "Let him have one more week of getting completely healthy. He'll play this week." The Bills started Drayton Florence and Leodis McKelvin on the corners against Philadelphia. Reggie Corner was the nickel back.

Fri Oct 7 201114:32Terrence McGee is listed as probable
Bills LCB Terrence McGee (hamstring) is listed as probable for Week 5.
He's returning in time to give Buffalo hope against an Eagles passing offense that's really starting to click. McGee has been the Bills' most consistent corner for several seasons. He'll start opposite shaky RCB Leodis McKelvin.
