Tue Apr 26 202208:32Khris Davis Drawing Interest From Multiple Teams
Free-agent outfielder Khris Davis is intent on making it back to the majors this year. According to Robert Murray of MLB Insider, the veteran has drawn interest from multiple teams. The 34-year-old split the 2021 season between the Oakland Athletics and Texas Rangers. Over 42 games, he slashed .206/.272/.363 with three home runs, 10 RBI and 11 runs. His star has faded significantly since he led the majors in home runs with 48 in 2018. He has hit a total of just 28 home runs in the majors since that season.

Tue Sep 28 202110:51Khris Davis Collects RBI In Loss To Mariners On Monday
Oakland Athletics designated hitter Khris Davis went 1-for-4 with an RBI in a loss to Seattle on Monday. Davis has been in the lineup the past week or so, but hasn't done much with the opportunity as he has just three hits in 17 at-bats. Davis is yet to homer since re-signing with Oakland at the end of August and is batting just .202 on the season. He's got no business being anywhere near a fantasy baseball roster in the last week of the season.

Wed Sep 1 202116:45Athletics Recall Khris Davis From Triple-A
Oakland Athletics designated hitter Khris Davis was recalled by the A's and will be with the team for its game in Detroit on Wednesday. Davis is a fan-favorite in Oakland after blasting 40-plus homers every season from 2016-18, but he's fallen on hard times since the height of his powers. He hit just .200 with a weak .329 slugging percentage across 30 games in 2020 and was let go by the A's in the offseason. Davis began the 2021 season with Texas and batted .157 in 22 games before being designated for assignment. Fantasy managers should take a wait-and-see approach to Davis as it's unclear how much playing time he'll get, let alone if he can still produce at the Big League level.

Wed Aug 4 202113:54Khris Davis Signs Minor League Deal With Oakland
Free agent outfielder Khris Davis has signed a minor league deal with the Oakland Athletics and has been assigned to the team's Arizona Complex League roster, according to Shayna Rubin of the Mercury News. He struggled significantly over 22 games with the Rangers this season, slashing .157/.262/.333 with two homers, five RBI and eight runs scored. Managers may want to keep an eye out for how he performs in the minors, and if he swings the bat well and makes it to back to Oakland, he could be a decent pick up off the waiver wire in deeper formats.

Wed Jun 9 202104:15LEADING OFF: Cole vs Donaldson gets sticky, Texas cuts Davis
A look at what's happening around the majors today: ___ STICKY SITUATION Yankees ace Gerrit Cole has found himself in a sticky situation. Days after Twins third baseman Josh Donaldson off-handedly alleged that Cole had been using foreign substances to sharpen his stuff, the pair will go head to head with Cole on the mound for New York at Minnesota. The pitches Cole threw in his previous outing didn’t rotate as much as usual, and Donaldson casually wondered aloud last week whether Cole had suddenly stopped using substances that could spike his spin rates, fearing an MLB crackdown. Cole said the spin issues were due to mechanical flaws. “I understand this topic is important to everybody that cares about the game,” Cole said. “In regards to Josh, I kind of felt like it was a bit of a low-hanging fruit, but he’s entitled to his opinion and to voice his opinion, so I just have other things that I need to keep my focus on.” HEAVYWEIGHT BOUT Burly, bearded right-handers Lance Lynn and Alek Manoah... Tue Jun 8 202118:05Khris Davis DFA'd by Rangers, who want look at young players
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Khris Davis was designated for assignment Tuesday by the slumping Texas Rangers, a move more about the young team's standing than the struggles of the veteran slugger. Davis missed the first 34 games of the season because of a left quad strain, then hit .157 with two home runs and five RBIs in his 22 games. Texas got the 33-year-old Davis, who has a $16.75 million salary this season, when longtime starting shortstop Elvis Andrus was traded to Oakland in February. The Rangers recalled infielder/outfielder Eli White from Triple-A Round Rock. They have seven days to trade, release, or outright Davis to the minor leagues. General manager Chris Young and manager Chris Woodward both said the team needs to find out about its young players, and there will now be more opportunities to do that. “It's less about Khris Davis' performance and more about the club in general, the state of our group and where we are and what aligns with our goals for this year,” Young said. “This... Sat May 8 202116:15Rangers activate Khris Davis for 1st time since Andrus deal
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Khris Davis was activated from the injured list Saturday by the Texas Rangers, marking the slugger's first time on their active roster for a game since being acquired in trade that sent longtime shortstop Elvis Andrus to Oakland. Davis, an outfielder and designated hitter, opened the season on the injured list because left quad strain suffered in a spring training game March 23. Texas got Davis, catcher Jonah Heim, and a minor league pitcher from the A’s just before spring training Feb. 6 when it sent Andrus to the West Coast. Heim was in the starting lineup for Saturday night's game against Seattle, but Davis was not. To make room on the active roster for Davis, outfielder Eli White was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock. After making an opening day roster for the first time in his career, White was hitting .127 with no homers and four RBIs in 20 games this season. He had only one hit his last 30 at-bats over his last 12 games. ___ More AP MLB: https://apnews.com/hub/MLB and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports
Mon Apr 12 202117:35Hernandez 2nd Rangers reliever to have Tommy John surgery
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Texas Rangers right-hander Jonathan Hernandez had ligament reconstruction surgery on his right elbow Monday, just less than two weeks after fellow reliever José Leclerc had the same procedure, and their bullpen will also be without hard-throwing Matt Bush until at least July. Rangers president of baseball operations Jon Daniels said the Tommy John surgery on Hernandez was performed by team physician Dr. Keith Meister and went as expected. Both Hernandez and Leclerc will be sidelined until at least early in the 2022 season. Meister did Leclerc's surgery on March 31. Bush has a flexor strain in his right arm and will get an injection Tuesday, then wait six weeks before a follow-up MRI to determine if the right-hander is ready to start throwing again. Daniels said Bush would then need about six weeks — or about the same length of time he is unable to throw — before being able to pitch again in a game. After missing 2 1/2 seasons because of a pair of elbow operations,... [More]
Tue Mar 23 202120:44Rangers DH Khris Davis injures quad running out bunt single
SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) — Texas Rangers designated hitter Khris Davis strained his left quadriceps running out a bunt single in a Cactus League game Tuesday and could start the season on the injured list. Davis pulled up before reaching first base and left the game against the Los Angeles Angels. Texas won 6-4. Manager Chris Woodward said after the game the extent of the injury wasn't known, but the IL was a possibility. The injury to Davis means the two leading candidates at DH for the Rangers could begin the season on the injured list. Willie Calhoun is dealing with a hamstring injury. Texas opens the season April 1 at Kansas City. The Rangers acquired Davis from Oakland this offseason in a trade that sent longtime shortstop Elvis Andrus to the Athletics. ___ More AP MLB: https://apnews.com/hub/MLB and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports
