McKirahan came into Tuesday's game against the Orioles to pitch two scoreless innings where he was able to strike out three.
McKirahan has now made three appearances since coming off his 80-game PED suspension. Tuesday's outing was easily his best of the three since he previously gave up a total of three hits and only struck out two during that combined one inning of work. The 25-year-old was the lone bright spot during the 7-3 loss against the Orioles and may soon be working his way into a prominent role out of the bullpen for manager Fredi Gonzalez.

McKirahan (suspension) will remain with the Braves organization and plans to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett, Kevin McAlpin of Braves Radio Net reports.
McKirahan was suspended 80 games back in April for using performance-enhancing drugs. Before the suspension he only made five appearances and there was a possibility that the organization would choose to deal the relief pitcher, although his impending assignment at Gwinnett suggests that he'll remain within the Brave's system as he works his way back into the 40-man roster.

McKirahan has been suspended 80 games for using performance-enhancing drugs, FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports.
McKirahan, a Rule 5 pick during the offseason, appeared in three games with the Braves prior to his suspension. Assuming MLB handles McKirahan's situation like it did David Rollins', another Rule 5 pick hit with an 80-game suspension, he will be removed from the 40-man roster but remain a part of the Braves until the suspension concludes. At that point, the Braves would either have to add him back to their roster, or offer him back to his original team, the Cubs.

The 25-year-old has impressed in the lower levels of the minors, and will likely begin the year with Double-A Mississippi.
