Cowboys signed LB Brady Poppinga.
Poppinga has been out of the league since appearing in 15 games for the Rams last season. The veteran has 56 starts under his belt, but also hasn't shown he's over a 2010 ACL tear. Poppinga will be depth for the Cowboys after they placed Bruce Carter (elbow) on injured reserve Monday.

Free agent LB Brady Poppinga calls Rams DC Gregg Williams' actions in the Saints' bounty program "degrading," "animalistic," and "repulsive."
"Football is my profession and I take it seriously. It's an art form. It's technical, strategic and takes a lot of intelligence to play," said Poppinga. "When this came out, it started to confirm the idea that football guys are idiots. That's not who we are. ... It's a huge problem in society not knowing how to compete with the right perspective." The comments could hurt Poppinga's chances of re-signing with the Rams.

Rams SLB Brady Poppinga suffered a left calf injury in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys and did not return.
Poppinga went down in the second quarter and was replaced by Bryan Kehl. After yesterday's debacle, the Rams' are giving up a league-worst 183.8 yards per game on the ground.

Rams agreed to terms with LB Brady Poppinga, formerly of the Packers.
The 32-year-old Poppinga will a Sam linebacker consideration for St. Louis, likely playing behind either Na'il Diggs or Zac Diles while focusing on special teams. Poppinga tore his ACL last October, but should be healthy by now.

The Rams will host free agent LB Brady Poppinga on Sunday.
Poppinga, a former defensive end at BYU, was a Sam (strong-side) linebacker the last time he played in a 4-3 scheme. He turns 32 in September and is coming off a torn left ACL, so Poppinga should be available for the veteran's minimum.

Poppinga was coming off an ACL tear and was due $2.34 million. The Packers just can't afford that for a backup. He's also a better fit in a 4-3 scheme than the Packers' current 3-4.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel disclosed that OLB Brady Poppinga's season-ending knee injury was a torn ACL.
It was first announced as an arthroscopic procedure last October. If the Journal-Sentinel is correct, Poppinga could end up as a cap casualty with a $2.35 million salary as a backup returning from a serious injury. Other candidates for release: RT Mark Tauscher, DL Justin Harrell, and LB Brandon Chillar

Packers placed OLB Brady Poppinga (knee surgery) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Poppinga's surgery was arthroscopic in nature, but the Packers couldn't afford to hold his roster spot with the bevy of injuries at the position. Poppinga has three years remaining on a five-year deal. The Packers may balk at paying more $2 million for a backup next season.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy said OLB Brady Poppinga's recent knee surgery will be season-ending.
Poppinga had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee last Tuesday. The reserve linebacker ends the season with 14 tackles and one sack.

Packers OLB Brady Poppinga (knee surgery) could wind up on injured reserve.
Poppinga had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Tuesday, and the Packers said they'd figured out after the procedure how long it would keep the linebacker out. Evidently it's pretty bad. Poppinga has been NFL sack leader Clay Matthews' backup. Luckily Matthews (hamstring) will be back this week.

Packers OLB Brady Poppinga will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Tuesday.
It's the same knee that Poppinga tore his ACL in back in 2005. The Packers will establish a timeframe after the surgery, but Clay Matthews is expected back in the meantime anyway.

Packers OLB Brady Poppinga was forced out of Sunday's loss to the Dolphins in the first half because something "didn't feel right" in his surgically repaired left knee.
Poppinga had ACL surgery on his left knee at the end of the 2005 season. With Clay Matthews (hamstring) already sidelined, the Packers are getting thin at outside linebacker. No team has been hit harder by injuries this season.

Brady Poppinga got the first-team reps at left outside linebacker ahead of Brad Jones on Wednesday.
It's a pretty big surprise considering the Packers have been talking up Jones after he started eight games as a rookie. The Packers are apparently fine with a competition between Poppinga and Jones because they haven't addressed the position at all in the offseason. It could end up as one of the weak points in their defense.
