Arrington played in 14 games for that Patriots in 2014, but started just four. Over the course of the season, he accumulated 39 tackles (33 solo), two forced fumbles and one sack, but failed to record an interception. He signed a four-year deal with the Patriots in 2013 and was owed $3 million this year - but none was guaranteed - which may have played into the team's decision to release him.

Arrington suffered the injury last September and played through it all year, still grading out as a top-20 cornerback in Pro Football Focus' ratings. Mon Jul 22 201308:37Arrington could be moved to right cornerback
ESPN Boston "wouldn't be surprised" if Kyle Arrington starts at right cornerback.
Arrington was the Patriots' slot corner last season, but could be forced to start opposite Aqib Talib with Alfonzo Dennard questionable for training camp and possibly facing a suspension. Ras-I Dowling will also get an extended look, while third-round pick Logan Ryan projects as a backup and special teamer.

Fri Mar 15 201313:29Pats keep slot CB Arrington on four-year deal
Patriots re-signed CB Kyle Arrington to a four-year contract.
With the Pats yet to re-sign Aqib Talib or find a viable replacement, they've re-upped a key piece of depth. Arrington has started at least 12 games each of the past three seasons, but struggled mightily in 2012 before being demoted to nickel back. He is one of the NFL's premier slot corners, but the Pats don't want to enter 2013 with Arrington on the outside. Considering the way the cornerback market has collapsed, Talib should be back soon enough.

Wed Mar 6 201309:17Kyle Arrington to get more money on market?
ESPN Boston suspects free agent CB Kyle Arrington will get more money on the open market than the Patriots are willing to give him.
Arrington tumbled down the depth chart last season, settling in as the nickel back in the second half of the year and struggling. The Patriots are thin at corner, but they'll likely make re-signing Aqib Talib a priority. Arrington is our No. 18 corner available in free agency.
