Sat Dec 29 201216:46Patriots waive former second-round pick Brace
Patriots waived DT Ron Brace.
Brace has been a major disappointment and a draft mistake for the Patriots since he was taken in the second round out of Boston College in the 2009 draft. In 39 career games, Brace has recorded just 39 tackles and zero sacks. He is purely a rotational lineman.

Wed May 23 201214:10Ron Brace on roster bubble with Patriots
ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss believes former second-round pick Ron Brace will be on the roster bubble entering training camp.
The 40th overall pick in the 2009 draft, Brace has shown little playmaking ability as an interior lineman while failing to sure a consistent early-down job. Just a role player lacking upside, Brace appears to be the Pats' No. 6 defensive tackle at this point, behind Vince Wilfork, Kyle Love, Brandon Deaderick, Myron Pryor, and Gerard Warren. We wouldn't bet on Brace making the team.

Sat Nov 5 201119:27Patriots activate DL Ron Brace from PUP
The Patriots activated DL Ron Brace to their active roster on Saturday.
They had until Tuesday to activate him from the physically unable to perform list and had already released Ross Ventrone to make space, so this was expected. It appears like he'll suit up immediately, providing backup depth behind banged up Albert Haynesworth (back) and Shaun Ellis (ribs). Ellis is a game-time decision for Sunday.

Sat Nov 5 201108:57Ron Brace expected to be activated from PUP
Patriots DL Ron Brace needs to be activated from the physically unable to perform list by Tuesday or be placed on injured reserve.
"If they call my name, I just got to know it's my job to be ready," Brace said. "Every week I come in prepared like a normal game week, as if I'm going to play." The expectation is that the Brace will suit up against the Giants but a decision has yet to be made. In what would appear to be a telling move, the Patriots released Ross Ventrone on Thursday to create a roster spot. With Albert Haynesworth limited with a back injury and Shaun Ellis a gametime decision, they could certainly use the depth.

The Pats will hope to get Mike Wright (concussion) back for the Divisional Round of the playoffs to pair with Gerard Warren. Brace, 24, finishes a largely promising second season with 23 tackles (15 solo). The former second-round pick out of Boston College will likely return as a starter in 2011.
Sat Jan 1 201112:45Report: Brace to be placed on injured reserve
A source tells Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald that Patriots DE Ron Brace (elbow) will be placed on injured reserve Monday.
Suspended LB Brandon Spikes, who is eligible to come off the exempt list on Monday, will take Brace's roster spot. Brace rebounded nicely in 2010 after a horrific rookie season in 2009, making the most of his limited snaps at left guard. He has all the tools to emerge as a long-term starter upfront.

Fri Aug 20 201016:41Ron Brace has big preseason game
Patriots DL Ron Brace recorded three tackles and forced a fumble in Thursday night's preseason game.
B.J. Raji's former running mate on Boston College's defensive line was a force, holding the ball carriers he tackled to runs of two, three, and no yards. Brace looked like a bust in his first season and when he reported to camp out of shape, so it's good news for New England that he's showing signs of life.

Patriots DL Ron Brace (failed physical) participated in Sunday morning's walkthrough.
It is unknown if this affects Brace's status on the non-football injury list. Either way you cut it, Brace looks like he's close to returning, and will have to get to work fast to repair his stock, as he was more than underwhelming last season.
